T Ball

Luke had his first T-ball game yesterday. I was so sad that I could not make it because I had dance pictures I needed to be at. So I took Nash with me and Joey took Harlee and Luke. Luke was so excited. We kept enforcing the need to "focus" and "listen to the coach"- two main things Luke would repeat when we asked him what he was going to do at the game. I asked Joey how he did and he said that Luke was one of those who hit the ball the farthest. Besides a few tears shed because everyone got to the ball before him in the field, he did a great job. Much better than soccer last year that I referred to as "anxiety hour". I am excited to watch him play and have a good time. PS- I asked Joey to take a few pictures of Luke playing since I could not be there. This is what we got?? I am pretty sure it is Luke!

Another fun day at the park

I promised the kids that after naps I would take them to the park today. It was beautiful outside and I knew that they would love it. So I decided to take them to a park across the freeway. Jenna has taken her kids there before and she said it is never crowded. So we went and she was right. We were only joined by three teenagers screaming and acting more like Luke's age than their own. But we just ignored them and the kids had the best time. Luke is getting so old and just has no fear. He loved sliding down this big pole and climbing on everything. Harlee tried the slide a few times but her favorite was the swing. She stayed on the swings the whole rest of the time. Nash just enjoyed being outside in his car seat. Such good kids. There is nothing better than watching them have a good time. I am really looking forward to nicer weather and more days like this!

What was that?

So much for my girly girl- our little Harlee finds so much humor in bodily functions. And I must admit, Joey kind of encourages her. So lately she will "toot" and Joey will say "What was that?" "It was a deer" Harlee will say. Then she will say "It was a mouse". Then she proceeds to go through all of our names, blaming it on everyone but herself. Once the laughs end with that she starts to force out the burps. She cracks herself up and also cracks up her dad. She is something else. I just pray these habits don't continue into the teenage/adult years. Maybe I should have a talk with the main instigator???

4 month checkup

Well you would think that since we have had so many doctor appointments lately, he would get out of his 4 month checkup. Not a chance! But it was so good to go and see that he is doing much better. Here are his stats:

Weight- 16lbs 14 ounces

Height - 26 1/4 inches long

He is in the 90 percentile for weight, 95 percentile for height and off the charts for his big head. What a cute healthy boy. He is the size of a 6 month old and I could not be happier. He is right on track with the developmental things and can start eating cereal, fruits, and veggies. The doctor said that by his next appointment he should be able to roll over both ways, eat all those above foods, and possibly sit by himself. Here are your goals Nashie- I know you can do it.

All Girl- All Mess

So Harlee is by far the sneakiest in the family. She is very good to keep herself busy but that almost always creates a mess for me to clean up. Yesterday was a crazy day because Nash had his shots and was wanting to be held all day. So around 4pm I finally had a chance to pick up the house a bit. In the midst of my running around I lost track of Harlee which normally means trouble. I finally found her in the kitchen making something with water and cinnamon. How does she come up with these things? She drives me nuts sometimes but I cannot imagine our life without her.

Our New Pet

Last night for FHE we played t-ball in the backyard. We are trying to get Luke ready for his first game that is tonight. So while we were playing our neighbor came out and was talking to us about all of the animals he has seen up here. He also told the story of the baby rattlesnake his wife found in the garage- are you kidding me? Where are we living? Well in the midst of these stories Luke is screaming and trying to get our attention. When he finally succeeds, we go over to find a mouse dead by our backyard steps. I am sick just thinking about it. For anyone that knows me, not a fan of bugs, mice, or anything of that nature. And I am deathly afraid of snakes. What am I going to do? I am for sure calling to get the house sprayed for mice and hopefully that will keep the snakes away. Just hoping the next blog does not involve any more pictures of findings in the backyard!

Our trip to St. George

Well we were all so excited to go to St. George. We had been planning this trip for a while and we all could not wait. So I worked hard all day to get us ready and Joey got the car packed. They all came to pick me up from dance class and we were on our way. We got to the condo at about 1am. The drive went by quickly and the kids slept for most of the time. I actually stayed awake the whole time which was almost a miracle! Once we got all of the luggage in and the kids back to sleep it was around 2am. So you can imagine how tired we were when the kids woke up around 7:30am, excited and ready to go!

Friday was a really fun day. We all got ready and went to the "fun park". It is a park in Bloomington that has a ton of toys and a water fountain. Last time we were not so prepared but this time the kids wore their swimsuits and brought towels. We stayed there for a long time and they had a blast. We then stopped at Pizza Factory and got lunch. After so much needed naps we went to the pool. It is so fun to watch the kids have such a great time. Luke has no fear and surprisingly neither did Harlee this time. They have a little 3 ft deep pool that they played in the whole time. We then went to shop a little and get dinner. We all fell asleep before 10pm and it was a great day.

Saturday we woke up and went to some garage sales. We found some great home decor that we are excited to put on our new built-ins. The weather was pretty awful so we stayed home most of the day. The kids just relaxed and we had a nice quiet day. Joey went and got our dinner late and we watched Seven Pounds. Harlee stayed up to enjoy our little date night with us!
Sunday morning we woke up and drove home. It was such a nice trip but I wish it would have lasted so much longer. I am so thankful that the Childs bought a condo down there that we can enjoy. I am truly grateful for my little family and all the memories we get to make together.

Cousin Fun

Mario came to help my Dad build a few sheds this week and he brought Nathan and Kaydan. Tara had to stay behind for nursing school. So we have had some fun time letting the kids all play together. On Tuesday we all went to the park and got icees. Then on Wednesday they played a bit at Jenna's house and back over to our house to jump on the tramp. It has been so fun to have Nathan and Kaydan here. We miss them when they are so far away. I did not grow up with any cousins so it is a blast to watch them all play and have so much fun together.

Step One

So about one month before Nash was born we took Harlee off the bottle. As soon as he came home and was drinking from a bottle Harlee wanted one too. I talked to the doctor and he said this was normal. He said to just let her have one and take her off in a month or so. With all of the sickness and craziness I am just getting to it. We went to Target and she picked out her "Big Girl Bottle". She chose a Dora one with a straw and it has been an easy adjustment. We are on day three and I think we can officially put them away. So once we master "Step One" we move onto "Step Two" which is potty training. Harlee is so excited- me on the other hand? What is one more thing tossed into this crazy life!

What a BABE!!

I LOVE the 4 month stage. Nash turns four months tomorrow and he is so happy and so smiley. I cannot get enough of him. He seems to be cutting a tooth right now but that does not bother this mellow kid- he still always has a smile. He loves to talk to his dad. Every time that Joey is around he stares at him and coos nonstop. If ever he sees his mom he loves to smile. I am just so grateful for this little guy and the special spirit he brings into our family.

Is Someone Ready?

You never know when is the right time to potty train. I know that boys take longer than girls but Luke did not master it until he was almost 4. Harlee is not even 2 1/2 so I hesitate to start this major task too soon. Once you start you cannot give up. Well lately Harlee has been very interested in the potty. Often during the day she goes into the bathroom, pulls down her pants, and stands in front of the toilet. Can you tell she has an older brother?? But she is so serious about it and I had to take a picture this morning. Hopefully I can find the time and the courage to start the big training. I must admit it is so nice to think of only having to change one bottom!
