Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!  I sure do have so many blessings to be grateful for.  We relaxed this morning and then went to Jenna's house at 2pm for our dinner.  It was really fun and comfortable this year.  We had everyone from Luke up to adults in the dining room and then the kids table in the kitchen.  We all talked and enjoyed yummy food.  We came home and made a ham and some mashed potatoes.  Around 7pm we were ready for Thanksgiving round 2.  We made our plates and settled in to watch the Princess Diaries. It was such a nice night.  I am so grateful for my family.  I love being with them and I hope that they enjoy the memories that we are creating as a family.  I am so grateful for Joey and for each of our children.  I am overwhelmed with gratitude for all that my Heavenly Father has blessed me with.

Family Fun Night

Joey and I both checked out of work a little early today and decided to take the kids to do something fun.  We went to the new Fat Cats in Saratoga Springs.  It happened to be half off arcade night so we bought $40 of game cards and the kids had so much fun.  Luke and Tag teamed up and then Nash, Har, and Gray were a team.  They played so many games and then cashed in on some prizes.  We then went to Pieology for dinner.  I ran Luke over to Five Guys but the rest of us had pizza.  It was so fun to spend time together as a family.  I am so looking forward to having a few days off.

Christmas before Thanksgiving

When we arrived home from the swim meet on this morning, Joey had already gotten the tree up.  So fun to get Christmas up even before Thanksgiving.  It looks so festive and I love feeling the Christmas spirit daily.  I am so looking forward to the holiday season and making so many memories with my family.

Lehi Legacy Thanksgiving Swim Meet

This weekend, Nash and Gray competed in a swim meet at the Legacy Center.  I love when they have meets here in their own pool.  They both did amazing!  They both swam the 100 free and cut time off of their best race.  Gray got 1:33 and Nash got 1:25.  They also both swam the 50 back where Gray got 49:55 and Nash swam it in 45:40.  They both swam the 50 free on Saturday.  Gray swam it in 40:85 which was 3 seconds faster than his best time.  Nash had hurt his wrist but still managed to swim this race in 41 sec.  I am so proud of both of them.  They work so hard at this sport and it totally shows.  I know that it is not easy to dedicate yourself to going to practice five days a week but they do it!  They are both such examples to me.

Tag's Thanksgiving Feast

Today Tag had a Thanksgiving Feast in his 2nd grade class.  I was so excited to go spend time with him.  They had roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, rolls, and pies.  Guess who did not feast on any of that?  That's right, neither Tag nor I had any of the feast.  I brought Tag a bag of grapes and he ate those while we sat in the very corner chair, the furthest away from the food smell!  Such a funny kid!  He also performed one of the two songs and did a great job!  I love his teacher and I love the mainstream experience that Tag is having.  He has come so far and I am so proud of him.

Christmas Lights in November

Christmas lights on the house is not Joey's thing so I am always the one to head this up.  Each year I wait too long and it is freezing when I am out there putting up the lights.  A few of my neighbors had already put their lights up so I decided to do it before it was cold.  Har had stayed home from school sick so she helped me get all of the lights on the house except for the tallest point.  For the high part I called in the troops AKA Brennan.  He is so much braver than me and  put the lights up without a problem.  I love having the lights on the house and I know the kids love it.

Girls Trip

This weekend Sarah McNamara and I decided to go and celebrate our birthdays in St. George.  I was a little nervous to go as we haven't spent too much time together outside of work.  This felt like quite the commitment.  My apprehension turned quickly as we drove down to SG.  We ended up having the best time.  We left at 10:30am and drove to Cedar City for lunch.  We got to SG around 3pm.  We caught up on work and then went to see Last Christmas.  It was a pretty good movie.  After the movie we went to Cafe Sabor for dinner.  We got home around 9pm and both were exhausted.  We decided to turn in for the night.  We woke up at 7:30am and went to walk/run the trail.  I was so excited to share this with her.  She loves to be outside and the trail is beautiful.  We got smoothies for breakfast after 6 miles on the trail and then went to relax by the pool for a little bit.  It was so warm and so fun to chat and get to know her better.  We went to lunch at Viva Chicken before going shopping at Old Navy and Gap.  We both got some really cute things.  Then we went to Twisted Noodle for dinner and got frozen yogurt after.  We went back to the house and sat at the table talking until 11pm.  I loved it.  It was so fun to learn more about Sarah.  We left early on Sunday morning so we could get home and still have a day.  It was such a nice and relaxing weekend.  I am so grateful that Joey took care of things at home so that I could go and enjoy some time in my favorite place.

Priesthood Preview

Tonight we had Priesthood Preview for Nash.  I cannot believe he will be going into YM's next year.  With such a late birthday he will be one of the youngest Deacon's.  It was a good program.  Harlee spoke on what she wished she had known before going into YW's and then Joey spoke.  I am so impressed with both of them.  It has been so amazing to watch Joey grow in this calling.  He speaks so eloquently and has a gift of bringing in the spirit.  So grateful for his example.  I am so excited for Nash as he makes this transition into YM's.

You are not old...

Today while we were sitting in tithing settlement, Tag came and sat on my lap.  He was looking at my hands when he said, "Mom, I think you are getting old.  Your hands are all wrinkly and you haven't even been in water." Oh the honesty- if I ever need to know the truth I just need to ask Tag.  Later before dinner I told Tag that it kind of hurt my feelings that he would say that.  He then responded, "Mom, I didn't say that you are old, I just said that you look it! And you might want to wash your face because you get these lines all around your eyes."  I was dying, Joey was crying, this kid is so funny and way too honest.  I for sure was given a dose of reality today...

More Home Improvements

Recently we decided  to get hardwood floors in the front room and the office.  After seeing how much I loved the bedrooms we saved and were able to do the two remaining rooms on the main floor.  I am obsessed!  It looks so great.  We have started to redecorate the front room.  Next step is plantation shutters, new chairs, and new art for the walls.  Cannot wait to see the finished product.  Loving all of the changes.

Going for Mayor

In the 5th grade the kids get to go to JA Biztown.  It is set up like a city and they all have different jobs.  Nash came home and told us that he wanted to run for Mayor of JA Biztown.  I was so proud of him as it felt a little bit out of his comfort zone.  He wrote an amazing speech and I knew that he would do great.  He got up this morning, dressed up for school, and practiced his speech a few more times. He showed such confidence and I was so excited for him. He came in second place but I am so glad he took this opportunity to go for it.  Proud of you Nashie!

Happy 43

It is crazy to think that I am getting so old but I reflect on all of my blessings and I am so grateful.  I was completely spoiled today.  When I came home from the gym this morning, Joey had left me the nicest card and three cd mixes.  Once Joey got home, they all made me dinner.  Fajitas and rice!  So yummy!  I was then given way too many presents, a sweet card from each of the kids, and an Apple Watch.  I was not expecting it and it was a wonderful surprise.  I am so excited!  They all serenaded me with Happy Birthday and then we enjoyed delicious brownies and ice cream.  Seriously a perfect day!

Crazy Hair Day

It is Red Ribbon Week at school this week and today is crazy hair day!  I love that all three boys are so confident and enjoy participating.  Tag went with a classic mohawk, Gray parted his hair down the middle and did two mohawks, and Nash had a mohawk of ponytails.  They all looked awesome!

Ike is 3

Happy birthday to our favorite puppy!  I cannot believe he is turning three and that he has been a part of our family for almost 3 years.  We seriously love Ike, well most of us-Joey isn't the biggest fan.  He is such a good dog and loves us all.  For his birthday he got a new bone and a new toy.  He seemed to like both gifts! I hope he lives forever.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
