Yesterday Harlee performed in the 2nd grade play. She has been practicing forever! She played the part of a sheep and did a wonderful job. I had school last night so I was lucky to get to go to the afternoon performance. So fun to get to watch her on stage. Luke babysat so Joey could go to the performance at night. So proud of her. She worked so hard and did a perfect job!
On Tuesday Harlee had her pictures for Dance Depot. They are doing two dances- a tap called "At the Hop" which is a dance that I taught her. It has been so fun to be her teacher this year! The other dance is "Ease on Down the Road" which is taught by Beckie and that is the costume she is wearing. Not sure I love the rainbow hat but Harlee looks darling in anything! Cannot wait to see her perform!
Not sure where he learned it but Tag came to me with a ball in his shirt and he said "Look at my baby!" Seriously such a funny kid! After the novelty of the ball in the shirt wore off, he kept saying "Cheese". He would have me take a picture and then quickly run to see the results on my phone. So funny. I love this little guy so much and I love his funny personality.

Well let me first state that I cannot believe that Luke is in the 5th grade. Where did the time go? I told him today that I feel like I just gave birth to him. But here we are, sitting in a cold elementary school cafeteria, learning about puberty! Joey could not get out of a meeting so I was the lucky one to learn all about the pubescent happenings of a boy. Luke kept insisting he was going to cry because of the extreme awkwardness of the situation. He handled it like a champ. After enduring an hour of very straight forward terminology, we deserved some JCW's. It was so fun to spend time with Luke. He ended up telling me about a girl named Leah Alvord. She turned around at the assembly they attended on a field trip Wednesday and told him that she liked him. What a forward gal! I told Luke that I was nothing like this bold little lady when I was growing up. I asked him how he responded and he said, "I was caught off guard but I think I said thanks!" Such a funny kid. Love spending time with him and I love that he feels safe to talk to me. I pray that openness never goes away.

Tonight for FHE we talked about the importance of strengthening our family and keeping it safe from the world. We discussed what could help keep our family safe. Harlee suggested locking the doors and turning on the porch light! So cute! She is right but then I asked what we can do to protect our family in a spiritual sense. The kids suggested family prayer, reading scriptures, and no internet. After our lesson we talked about my date jar idea. Each of the kids have five color sticks. Luke is blue, Harlee is pink, Nash is green, Gray is orange, and Tag is yellow. They each wrote down five things they would like to do on a date with either Joey or I. We are going to try to get through all five dates with all five kids by the end of the summer. That is 25 dates! I feel like the one on one time with each of them will not only be so fun but will strengthen our relationships with them and in turn strengthen our family. So grateful for each one of my children. They each bring something special to our family and I could not feel more blessed to be their mom.
Nash is growing up! He lost his first tooth yesterday! He came home from school on Thursday and showed me his wiggly tooth. It only took until Saturday morning for that little niblet tooth to fall out! He was so good to put it in a baggy and then put it under his pillow last night. The tooth fairy did not disappoint and left him $2! I cannot believe my Nashie is old enough to be losing teeth. Time just goes too fast.
Every weekend Luke spends his time with his two best friends Justin and Tyson. They are always together and I am so grateful that Luke has good friends. I ran Gray to a party down the street and came home to them dressed like this??? They are crazy! So nice that they let Nash tag along.

Tag is LOVING preschool. Everyday he asks me "Go to school?" I love that he loves it. Yesterday we were waiting for the bus and I was taking a few pictures of this cute little guy. I think that the big smiley picture might be my favorite picture of him ever. I love this little boy so much. It makes me so happy to see him progressing. His school is such a blessing and he is such a blessing to me.
Yesterday was crazy hair day for Luke's class. They had been so good so his teacher said they could do a Crazy Hair Day and she would get them chips and salsa. Such a fun teacher. I love that Luke has no hesitation to live Crazy Hair day to its fullest. I would have been so shy at his age but he is so confident. He said that since it was only his class doing this special day he really stood out. He said that if people asked him about his hair he would say that he was trying a new hairstyle. Love him and so admire his outgoing personality!
We have been waiting for tax/bonus season so we could ditch the gross carpet and update the floors in our St. George home. It took a little longer than we anticipated but it was so worth it. They look beautiful. We also had a plumber out to fix the leaky sink and replace the faucet that has been loose ever since we bought the place. We started the cabinet updates with the master bathroom and they look so good. We have plans to paint all the cabinets white and brighten up the paint in the master, the bathrooms, and the kitchen. So fun to watch my perfect place get even better. So blessed!!
I cannot believe how quickly the ten days flew by. We spent our time working on the house, hiking, eating, shopping, and swimming. We had so much fun. I cannot believe we are lucky enough to have this home in such a beautiful city. We love it there and feel so blessed. So excited that our kids get to make memories enjoying time together.
For all the times we have gone to St. George we have never made it to Zions National Park. We almost made it there when Luke was little and I was pregnant with Harlee. It was a busy weekend and I was not feeling great, so we made it to the park before the park! This time we actually went in the park. It is so BEAUTIFUL!!! We had to park and ride the shuttle in. Then we hiked inside the park and it did not disappoint. The kids were so good! After Zion's we stopped at an old Ghost Town called Grafton. It was so fun to see the old town. What a great day. I seriously LOVE family time.
When Joey and Jamie were little Darolyne snapped a picture of them having a bath together. It is such a cute picture. These pictures of Tag and Gray remind me so much of that picture. Such cute little boys. Love them!! Maybe one day I will be showing their wives these sweet photos!
This year we were so lucky to spend Easter in my favorite place. Conference happened to fall on Easter weekend so it was a bonus. It was an amazing conference and I loved hearing from my Heavenly Father through his special servants. What a special day. The kids woke up and the easter bunny had visited. He left them each a movie, a new shirt, colored bubbles, and too much candy. We enjoyed a yummy breakfast of eggs, bacon, and cinnamon rolls. We spent the morning and afternoon listening to conference and ripping up carpet! After conference we went to John and Darolyne's for an Easter barbecue and to stay a few days while our floor got done. Jamie and Mindi were also staying there which made it so fun. We enjoyed dinner and then walked down to one our favorite parks by their house. It was such a beautiful night. What a perfect Easter. I am so grateful for my Savior and His amazing sacrifice. Because of Him I get to live with my family forever. My greatest blessings!!
