Amazing friends

The kids did not have school today since it was a teacher preparation day.  This was perfect so Gray could rest a little and start to recover.  Early this afternoon, there was a knock at the door.  Gray answered, and a huge group of girls and Bridger were on the other side of the door.  They had made him cookies and they each made him a cards with well wishes.  I am so grateful for all of the friends that care about him!  Such  a kind gesture.

Fun weekend for Har

This weekend, Miah's cousins went and stayed with them in SG.  They had such a good time together and actually went to try swing dancing for the first time.  I love that Harlee is having such an amazing time at college.  She trying new things and putting her self out there.  I am so proud of her.  She will have the best time because of her efforts.  Love this for her.

Scary phone call and scary night

I was laying in bed reading at about 9:30 pm, Joey was asleep beside me, when my phone rang.  It was Gray but when I answered, I heard a girls voice.  She told me that Gray had fallen and was pretty sure that he had broken his collarbone.  I drove to the park and picked up Gray.  He was so pale and his left side was definitely hanging down lower than the right.  I could tell that he was in a lot of pain.  I called Joey to see which hospital I could take him to with our new insurance, and thankfully we can go to Primary Children's Hospital.  It is less than 10 minutes away which is such a blessing.  Gray was third in line when we got there so they got his a wheelchair to sit in.  I could tell he was so uncomfortable and I wished I could take the pain away.  After about 30 minutes, they took his vitals and moved him to a room.  They then ordered an x-ray.  After about an hour, the x-ray confirmed that he indeed did break his collarbone.  They put his left arm in a sling and wrapped around his back, securing his left arm in place.  Gray was so relieve to have it wrapped and that alone made it feel so much better.  We were able to leave a little after midnight.  We have an appointment scheduled for next Monday with an orthopedic surgeon to see if he will need surgery.  He is our first kid to break a bone!  Hopefully he can heal quickly and get back to doing the things that he loves.

Sadie's for Gray

Gray just got asked to Homecoming by his friend Kate Wilson.  I had just taken Gray and his friends thrifting and so they were all over here when she dropped off the poster.  How fun!  I love that Gray has such an amazing friend group.  I just know he will have a great time at the dance.

Luke's new smile

While Luke was on his mission, he had an accident where he dropped a weight bar on his teeth.  This accident caused three of his teeth to be chipped.  He went to a dentist in New Jersey and they were able to bond the teeth.  A few days ago, he called me to say that while he was eating a protein bar, the bonding came off of his front tooth.  I was able to get him into the cosmetic dentist Dr. Miller.  He did such an amazing job.  Luke's smile looks amazing.  So grateful he was able to get him in so quickly.

Nash's Latest Project

For this AP Art assignment, Nash chose to use markers and they were given the liberty to draw whatever they wanted.  Nash drew someone sitting on a ledge admiring the beautiful scenery. He put so much time and effort into this project and it turned out perfectly.  Nash is such a talented artist and I am grateful for all of the skills he is working on as he takes this AP Art class this year.  Cannot wait to document all of his projects.

She's HOME!

Harlee came home last weekend but since I was in AZ with Marcae, I did not get to spend much time with her.  But I was so excited to hear that she was coming home this weekend too!  She got home on Thursday night and it was so great to see her.  On Friday we went and got pedicures.  After pedicures, we picked up lunch at Panera Bread.  So good!  On Saturday, she drove around with me to pick up all of the corsages for Gray's group and for Nash.  After the boys left for homecoming, we went to Dollies for dinner.  She was able to come with us on Sunday to PJ's Homecoming- it was so amazing to have all my kiddos with me at church.  We loaded her up with lots of food and she made her way back to her new home in SG.  I will really miss her but will see her again for Fall break in about 3 weeks!  Cannot wait!

Homecoming for Nash

Nash came home from his day date, relaxed for an hour, and then got ready to resume his Homecoming date.  He looked so handsome!  Luke picked him up and then they went to get their dates.   They then headed over to Dry Creek Park for pictures.  It had rained a bit today but thankfully the weather was great for pictures.  After pictures, they had reservations at the Harvest Restaurant at Thanksgiving Point.  After dinner they made their way to the dance.  Nash said he had a great time.  Their group then headed over to Crew's house.  He lives really close to Skyridge.   They hung out and played games.  Such a fun night!  So excited for Nash to have his first date!

Homecoming for Gray

Gray got dressed and ready and needed to leave at 5:30pm.  He looked so handsome!  All of the boys met at Bridger's house and they all went together to get their dates.  Once they had picked everyone up, they headed back to Bridger's for pictures and pizza.  Bridger's dad was kind enough to do both.  Then they made their way to the dance that was at Skyridge.  Gray had the best time with his date and his friends.  After the dance, they went to McDonalds for some food before coming over here for the after party,  They had treats and watched a movie.  I am so grateful for the group of friends that Gray has and for this fun opportunity to go on his first date!

Nash's Day Date

For Homecoming, Nash's group decided to go to Top Golf in Vineyard.  Luke drove Nash and their dates in his new mustang.  Nash was texting on the drive saying how awkward it was.  The girls sat together in the back because the back seat was pretty small.  They did not talk to them at all.  Thankfully they had a great time at TopGolf.  Nash's date Tamryn is an amazing golfer.  I am so glad that they had a good time.  Now they are not dreading the rest of their date this evening.

The gangs all back together!

Elder Hekking returned home from his mission today and all of his friends were there to greet him!  P.J was not planning on serving a mission.  About 3 months into Luke's mission, P.J texted him and said "I guess I am going on a mission".  He left in September to serve in Missouri.  He initially thought that he would go for 3 months just to prove that it was not for him.  But he experienced a change of heart and grew to love his mission.   I love Luke's friends.  They have all been such great examples for each other and I hope their friendship continues for the rest of their lives.

He's employed!

Nash let Gray know that there was a sub position opening at Belmont.  We hurried and got his application in this morning and they scheduled an interview for this afternoon.  He put on his button up shirt and some confidence and he did an amazing job.  They actually offered him the position at the end of the interview.  It will be so great that he and Nash can work together and carpool.  Such a blessing! He starts next Tuesday!

*Before he even started, he was offered the full sweeper position.  He will work the same hours as Nash.  Five days a week from 3:30-6pm.

Girls Weekend

After our amazing trip to NY last year, Marcae and I decided that we needed to make the girl's trip an annual thing.  We decided to go to Arizona this year for our trip.  We flew out on Thursday afternoon and arrived in AZ around 6pm and got our rental car. Minus the strong smell of marijuana, the car was great!  We went to Torchy's and grabbed some yummy tacos for dinner and then headed back to our hotel at the Crown Plaza.  It was a nice hotel with a great pool which was what we wanted.  We went to bed around midnight so we could get up on Friday and fill the day with fun!  We woke up early and went to the gym.  After a great workout, we enjoyed a yummy breakfast with the vouchers that we purchased.  We then went to the pool and laid out for a couple of hours.  After we relaxed in the sun, Marcae was nice enough to let us take a little time to go visit Cory's family.  Cory did not tell the kids that I was coming.  Soph and Smith answered the door and they were so surprised.  Lu came downstairs and saw me and she said "Jamie" and jumped into my arms.  She snuggled with me for over an hour.  It was heaven!  I sure love those kiddos.  After our visit we went shopping for a few hours before going to Grimaldi's for dinner.  We then stopped at Trader Joes for some gummy treats, grabbed a diet coke at McDonalds, and headed back to our hotel to watch Dateline.  It was such a great day!  Saturday we went to work out and then to breakfast.  We took our gross workout selves to Last Chance to do a little shopping.  Then we went home to get ready for our massage.  It was a little out of my comfort zone but it was good.  Then we got ready and went to try Rio Rico, a place Cory had recommended.  The food was super good.  We then went to get Cold Stone before heading back to pack for our early flight.  It was seriously the best time.  Marcae is such an amazing friend with whom I can completely be myself.  Cannot wait until our trip next year.  We are thinking Nashville or South Carolina.  So fun!

Gray's Day Date

A lot of Gray's group are on the mountain bike team and next Saturday they have a race.  So they decided to do their day date this weekend.  One of the guys in their group, has an uncle that owns a cabin in Heber.  He was nice enough to let them hang out there.  They started the date off by going and hiking in Cascade Springs and then they headed to Heber.  They were able to float the canal which Gray thought was super fun.  Then they went back to the house for pickleball, dinner, and a campfire.  Such a fun night!  I love that Gray has such a great friend group.  Such a blessing!

She said YES

Now it is Nash's turn to hear the response to his HOCO invite!  Tamryn left a poster with song lyrics and pictures of Nash's singer crush Olivia Rodrigo!  She had no idea! She also left him a few bags of candy.  So nice!  I am so excited for Nash to go on his first date and hope that he has the best time.

Nash's turn to ask...

A couple days ago, Nash mentioned that he was going to ask someone to Homecoming!  What?? I did not know that they was on his radar.  He decided to ask a girl named Tamryn.  His friends came over tonight to help him make the poster.  They went above and beyond by putting on lipstick and kissing all around the poster.  So funny!  They all drove together to drop off the poster.  Can't wait to see her response!

She said YES

Tonight, Chloe, the girl that Gray asked to Homecoming responded!  She said that she was "hooked" on going to HOCO with Gray and answered yes.  She also left some swedish fish and gummy worms.  So cute!  I am super excited for Gray to go on his first date!

Lantern Festival

Harlee is seriously making the most of her college experience.  They try to go to most if not all of the activities that the school sponsors,  Tonight they went to a lantern festival and she had the best time.  Her and Miah have already made great friends and they are just living their best life.  I am so excited for her.  College life is seriously one of the best times in life.

Labor Day Family Fun

I love having a Monday off!  Nothing beats a long weekend and then a short work week to follow.  We decided to do something fun as a family and invited Morgan to come along.  We left early to go to Top Golf.  Unfortunately, there was an hour and a half wait to get a by.  We made a quick change of plans and went to a Nicklecade in South Jordan.  It was really fun.  Everyone got their own card and were able to play for over an hour.  After the fun, we went to The Pie for lunch.  That place never disappoints!  We seriously love it.  I am so grateful for my family and for the blessing of being able to do things together. We missed Harlee but she was having a great time in SG. We will have to plan for more family fun for when you comes home for Christmas!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
