On Monday Tag came home and asked if he could go trick or treating on Friday. He had already texted Joey and asked him to take him to the Halloween store. So Joey took him to the store and he picked out a traffic light costume. He had asked the boys in our carpool to go trick or treating and unfortunately they had plans to go together in a different neighborhood. I was super sad for him. Joey and I were driving Gray and his friends to a cabin so Nash stepped up and took Tag trick or treating. Such an amazing brother. His friends even came along to support Tag. So grateful. Tag had a great time trick or treating and I so appreciate Nash for making this dream of his come true.
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

Halloween came early...
Luke and Morgan were invited to a Halloween party. Luke dressed up as Trump and Morgan dressed as Kamala. I think he pulled it off. I am proud of Luke's willingness to put himself out there and to go do these fun things. I wish I had more of that in me. Hope they have the best time!

Pumpkin Painting
Tag was super excited to carve a pumpkin again this year. The unfortunate thing is that we could not find the carving knives that we have used the prior years. So instead of searching for the tools, he opted to paint the pumpkin. He is so creative and the pumpkin turned out so well! The sad clown pumpkin- I love it! Cannot wait to put it on the porch to share with the neighborhood.

Sadies for Gray
Tonight Gray got to attend Sadies with his friend Kate. They had their day date yesterday. They went over to Kate's house, had pizza and carved pumpkins. Gray had a lot of fun. Today, they met at Kate's house for pictures and chick fila. After eating, they made their way to the dance. Gray said his date left him as soon as they got there but he had a really good time with his other friends. After the dance, they all got together and watched a movie. I am so grateful that Gray has such an amazing group of friends. It for sure is making high school fun for him.
Sibling night
Nash did not get asked to Sadies because his friend told the girl he was interested in to ask someone else in their friend group. When Luke and Harlee heard this, they decided to take Nash out for a little fun that night to take his mind off of it. They decided to go bowling in Provo and had a great time. I am so grateful that my kids are friends and that they are always looking out for each other. What a blessing it is to observe this as their mom.
A fun afternoon...
A couple of months ago, Har and I decided that we were going to read the Colleen Hoover book Regretting You to prepare for the movie coming out in October. Har did not have time to read the book with all of her crazy homework load but I was able to finish it. The book was super good and I was really excited to go see the movie with Harlee. We went to an 11 am movie in heated luxury seats- kind of perfect. The movie was super good- I kind of wish I was like Har and did not read the book. I did not love knowing what was coming but I still enjoyed it. After lunch, we decided to go to lunch at Dollies. It was just as good as we were anticipating. We then went to do a little shopping. Har got a job at a bathing suit store in the mall down in SG and has a stricter dress code. We wanted to get a few more options. I loved spending time with her. I miss her so much when she is away at school and treasure the time that she gets to come home and visit.

Updated Photo Wall
Harlee was planning on coming home this weekend and encouraged me to finally print the family pictures that we took this summer. She told me that if I printed the pictures, she would help me get the wall completed. I could not say no to the help! I got the pictures printed and tonight Harlee helped me get them hung up on the wall. I love the way that it turned out. I feel so blessed to be a part of this beautiful family.

Gray's new smile
After Harlee's tooth repair went so well, we decided to take Gray to Dr. Miller to see if he could help with Gray's staining. It took four appointments but the improvements are amazing! I am so excited for Gray and his perfect smile. He was a trooper to endure those appointments but the results were well worth it.

Flatland Calvary
The reason we came home a day early from SG was so we could go to the Flatland Calvary concert. We attended the concert with our favorite concert buddies, KC and Mike! KC and Mike came to our house and we drove together. We stopped at Super Chix for dinner before heading to the Union for the concert. We were some of the older people there but it was super fun. We made our way to the front so we could lean on the railing the whole time. Flatland was so good! They performed some of my favs: In a Life Where We Work Out, Landslide, and Sleeping Alone. It was so fun! I often joke that concerts are my love language but I do truly love live music. I feel so lucky that Joey loves it just as much as I do. What a perfect night.
Fall Break in SG
We love going to SG for Fall Break each year but had a little extra incentive this year as Harlee is living there. While we were in Colorado the kids relaxed and spent a little time in the pool while Har was in class. Once she got back she took the boys to In and Out for dinner and then to Fiesta Fun. She is such a great sister to them! We got home on Thursday around noon and we both had to work quite a bit. We did find time to go to dinner at Pizza Factory. We then went to Costco and bought new tvs for the three boy's rooms. Now everyone has a smart tv which is such a blessing. Gray and Nash have been without a tv for quite a while so they were excited. On Friday we got up and worked while the kids relaxed and swam a little more. At noon, we went and met John and Darolyne at The Kitchen Table, formerly known as Pork Bellies. It was really fun to visit with them. Once we got back, I took Harlee shopping and then we grabbed some dinner. We spent the rest of the night relaxing since we knew we had to leave the next day. On Saturday, we got up to go garage sales but there were not many but we made sure to make a trip to Donutville. We went back home to clean and get packed up to head home. It was a nice relaxing time but I just wish it could have lasted longer. We are planning on going down for Thanksgiving which will be a longer time down there. Can't wait!

Bucket List
A couple of months ago I talked Joey into going to a Charles Wesley Godwin concert at Red Rocks in Colorado. We do not typically do things like this but I am so glad that we made it happen. Red Rocks has always been a bucket list venue for a concert. Tuesday night we drove to St. George and dropped the kids off with Harlee. We arrived around 11pm, unpacked, and went to bed. Joey and I got up early and we were on the road by 7am to Las Vegas. We took a plane to Denver Colorado arriving a little after noon. After a nightmare experience getting the rental car, we went to find a Chuy's, one of our favorite restaurants, for a late lunch. KC and Mike were meeting us there for the concert so we went to their hotel to get ready before going to grab a light dinner before the concert. The venue was just as beautiful as I had hoped. We had amazing seats and it was pretty close to perfect. The Castellows were the first opening act followed by Ole 60. I really enjoyed both. I was more familiar with the Castellows and pleasantly surprised by Ole 60. They actually covered "Yellow" by Coldplay which is a special song for Joey and I. Joey put that song on a CD he made me after our first date. After both opening acts, Charles came out and put on the best show! He is so humble and was truly appreciative of everyone that came. When Joey and I first saw him at the Depot there were less than 100 people there and now he is selling out Red Rocks. So amazing for him. The concert was so fun and even better than I had hoped. So grateful to be able to go and do this bucket list concert with my best friend. We got up super early this morning to fly back to Vegas. We then drove back to SG to spend a few days of fall break in our favorite place.

Best uncles making dreams come true
We had an issue with water leaking this week in St. George and had to turn the water off until the plumber was available on Monday. This happened on Thursday night, so Miah and Har decided to come home for the weekend. It must have been meant to be because Mike and KC were able to make Har's dream come true. Mike and KC had VIP tickets to Red West in Salt Lake and Noah Kahan was performing on Sunday night. They like Noah but know that Har loves Noah. So they gave Har and Miah their wristbands and they were able to go on Sunday night. Since they were VIP they got to go way up to the front. They were about 10 rows back. Noah put on an amazing show and they had the best time. So nice of KC and Mike! Such an amazing time and wonderful memories made!

Happy Birthday to my BEST friend
Happy 54th Old Man! Cannot believe that we have gotten to celebrate 24 of your birthdays together. Such a blessing! Joey is so loved by all of us and we are so grateful for all that he does for us. We celebrated tonight by having our favorite pizza from the Pie. We then gave him cards and presents- some new clothes and tickets to see Nolan Taylor at the end of the month! We then had cake (Joey chose cake over brownies since he knows how much Tag loves cake- seriously one of the most selfless people that I know). We spent the rest of the night facetiming Harlee and then enjoying Friday night music night. We will go to Goodwood tomorrow for a little celebratory lunch date. I hope that Joey feels all of our love and gratitude today and always.
