Harlee's 2 year check up

Last Monday Harlee went to see Dr. D for her two year check up. She was really excited to go until we arrived there. She was weighed and is now 29 lbs. She is in the 75% for weight. She gained 3 1/2 lbs over the last 6 months. She is 36 inches tall which means she grew 2 1/2 inches in 6 months. She is in the 95% for height. Definitely following in her brother's footsteps and they come by it honestly- look at their dad!! She had to get a shot or a pokie pokie as she calls it. She was really upset and had to call Dad and Luke on the way home to tell them about it. She is so crazy and so fun and we do not know what we would do without her!

Bigger by the day

It is so amazing to me how quickly a baby grows and changes. Nash is now 5 1/2 weeks and he is getting so big! He is the best baby and just such a blessing to have around. I joke that he is so the 3rd child because he does not get all of the attention that the other two did when they were little. I am too busy trying to keep the other ones from hurting each other or teaming up and getting into trouble. He is so mellow and content. He is starting to smile says Joey. I still have yet to see it. Joey will get him to smile and by the time I look he is straight faced. I did enjoy a little moment yesterday. I was laying down on the ground by him and he was trying so hard to "talk". As soon as a little sound would come out it was obvious that he was very proud of himself- as was I! I am so grateful for the chance to be a mom to Nash and to Luke and Harlee. What a blessing they all are to me.

Lovin the Wiggles

Lately an old group of friends has returned- The Wiggles. When Luke was about 2 he loved the Wiggles. We have several of their dvd's and have been watching them lately. Harlee loves them and it is fun to watch them enjoy the show together. When they were watching it the other day I took a few pictures. They love to sing all of the songs and I love to watch them do it. Thanks to the Wiggles for adding a little fun into our day!

Seven years ago today...

...I married my best friend. On January 18th, 2002 Joey and I were married in the Mount Timpanogas Temple. It was a blizzard outside but nothing could change the way I felt that day. I was so excited to make an eternal commitment that has brought me nothing but happiness. Joey is truly the best husband. He is so supportive and caring. He makes me a better person and I know that together we can get through anything. Happy Anniversary Joel Dave!! I will love you forever.

When is Nash going to wear normal clothes?

When is Nash going to wear normal clothes? He always wears pajamas! This is something I hear from Luke on a daily basis. He reminds me that we have drawers full of "normal" clothes. So today was the day! I surprised Luke by dressing Nash in normal clothes. He helped me give Nash a bath and get him dressed so full of excitement. I love the simple things that make children happy.

Another day at home....

I must say that I am so excited to have Nash home but it has been pretty hard to be stuck in the house everyday. I have been having a hard time with balancing keeping the kids entertained and keeping the house clean. It is inevitable that I have to let some things go. So this week I promised myself that I would help change the memories we are making from "my mom yells all the time" to "my mom plays with us all the time". After showers were done we decided to build a fort. We all got inside the fort and read books. Then we played hide and go seek. Then at Luke and Harlee's request we played chase. Then we enjoyed an icee thanks to Aunt Jenna followed by coloring pictures we printed off the Internet. It was such fun day and cranky mom has yet to make an appearance. It is so amazing how willing the kids have been to help after investing in some play time together. They helped me clean my bathroom that has not been done in over a month!! What a fun day full of great memories.

Our Three Greatest Blessings

Last night I was holding Nash and asked Joey to take a few pictures. We got this cute shot of all three of the kids. I just look at this and feel overwhelmed with gratitude. We are so lucky to have 3 beautiful and healthy kids. Such true blessings straight from Heavenly Father. What an honor!

When I grow bigger like Dad....

I was preparing to feed Nash when Luke said:

"One day I will grow bigger like Dad."

I asked "What will you do when you grow bigger like Dad?"

"I will get married and have lots of babies." Luke said.

"How many kids will you have?" I asked.

"Fourteen!" Luke said. Wow- what an answer!! Ambitious!

"Do you know who I am going to marry?" Luke said.

"Who?" I asked.

"Her name is going to be Sally."

"What will she look like?" I asked.

He winked and pointed at me.

"Then she will be beautiful!" I teased and Luke said yes!!

What great goals he has already. I just pray that we can continue to teach what is right so that he will get married in the temple and start having his fourteen children!

The Princess is two!!

On January 8th, 2007 I went to my doctor's appointment. I was due on January 15th and the doctor decided to set up an induction date for the next day. He decided to strip my membranes to help get me ready for the induction. While I was driving home the doctor's office called to say that they were booked for Tuesday but would induce me on Wednesday. I had to make a few stops on the way home and while I was picking up a few things at Smiths the contractions started. I had gone to the hospital a couple times over the past few weeks sure I was in labor. I was not sure what I was thinking because these contractions definitely felt real. So the contractions started around 2:30pm and came regularly for the next few hours. By 11:00pm Joey had convinced me to go to the hospital. I was so afraid of being humiliated and sent home again that it took a lot of convincing to get me in the car. They checked me when I got there and I was a 5 1/2 almost 6 cm dialated. They said that I was staying. They checked me regularly and by 4am I was a 9 1/2. My water had still not broken and they promised that someone would be in shortly to break my water. They were so busy that night that they did not break my water until 9:45am on January 9th. By 10:29 am she was born. The delivery was wonderful and she was perfect. She weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. What a perfect moment and a perfect addition to our family.

Harlee Anne is such a blessing in our lives. We honestly don't know what we would do without her. She is celebrating her 2nd birthday and it is amazing how fast time flies. She is very independent and can get away with anything when she flashes her cute smile. She loves to play with Luke and do everything that he does. They have a special relationship and I pray that continues as they get older. We love Harlee so much and hope she has a great birthday!

Our Mellow Fellow

Well we hate to say we earned him but we really did! Our little Nash is so calm and mellow. He maybe fusses a little when he is hungry but other than that he is so quiet. I even have to wake him up sometimes in the night to feed him. He went to the doctor on Tuesday and has a clean bill of health. He now weighs 8 lbs and 4 oz and is 22 in long. His breathing sounds great. He had the not so fun opportunity to get circumcised and he did not even make a peep. Dr. Dan made a comment that Nash must be used to noise because nothing seems to phase him. We are so excited to have him in our family and we are so grateful for his sweet temperament.

Back to Reality

After a long Christmas break full of hospital trips and Maverick stops, we are getting back to real life. Joey went back to work. Nothing like being thrown into the "Mom of 3 kids" mode! Luke went back to preschool and I know that he is excited to see all of his friends again. I hope that this gets easier. I remember thinking when Harlee was born that I could never go anywhere without Joey's help. That soon became easy and I am hoping for the same with Nash. I am going to attempt Nash's doctor appt tomorrow with all three kids. Hope I survive!!

Two of a Kind

I know that it has been mentioned before that Harlee loves to do everything that Luke does. Luke has always loved dressing up but lately has spent more time on the computer looking at Ben 10 than dressing up. On Saturday he wanted a spiderman costume for him and for Harlee. It was so fun to watch them play together and Joey snapped a picture. I love that they have so much fun together and pray that their relationship only grows stronger as they get older.

Welcome Home Nash

On Friday around 1pm our cute little Nash was discharged from the hospital. Joey and I were so excited but I think Luke and Harlee were even more excited. They wanted to hold him and could not understand why he wasn't opening his eyes. Luke loves being a big brother. When asked about Nash he said "I Love Nash, I Love him so bad". Harlee loves him but I think feels like she has been booted out of her spot. I told her that she was a big girl and she said "NO, I a baby!". She insists on having a bottle anytime that Nash does and wants all the attention that he gets.

Nash is doing great. He is such a mellow baby. We kind of feel like we earned him! His health is progressing and with each day the nervousness fades. He goes to the doctor tomorrow and it will be good to make sure he is breathing well. We are just so excited to have him home and feel much more complete.
