Another Sleepover

The boys had Kai over tonight for another sleepover.  We bought a lot of snacks, ordered pizza, and they had so much fun together.  I love that even though they are no longer neighbors, whenever they see each other it is like no time has passed.  They have such a cute friendship and I love that they all can hang out together.  I hope they do not stay up all night.

Big Award

Today when Nash came home he told me that he had to go to the principal's office today.  I was a little confused and asked him to explain.  He then handed me a letter.  Nash was the boy chosen from his class to get the "Hope of America Award."  This is for a student who has demonstrated during the school year capacity for leadership, ethical and moral character, and outstanding academic accomplishment.  I am so proud of him!  I cannot wait until next Wednesday when we get to go watch him receive this award.  I will be the crazy mom screaming in the audience!  Way to go Nashie!

Saturday Baking

For the last few weeks Nash and Harlee have decided to bake.  I am not complaining!  They usually try to bake something new and clean it up while Joey and I are on our Saturday date.  Today they decided to make cookie monsters.  This consisted of a chocolate cupcake infused with homemade caramel.  Then topped with homemade blue frosting and a homemade chocolate chip cookie.  So much work but they were so yummy.  I am so grateful for my little bakers.  So fun for them to try new things and I so do not mind being the test taster.

Movie Night

Tonight Nash and Harlee decided to watch a movie outside.  Nevermind the fact that it was about forty degrees outside!  They don't let anything stop them from moving forward with their plan.  They set up the projector, got tons of blankets, and invited Tag out to watch the Bee Movie.  Gray came home from a birthday party and took Ike out to join them.  They made it almost through the whole movie.  I cannot wait until the weather is warm and we can do a family movie night in the backyard.

Luke's latest drawing project

For Luke's drawing class he had an assignment to do a portrait.  He chose to do a portrait of his favorite rapper Kid Laroi.  He found a picture that he wanted to replicate and he put so much time into this assignment.  I was so proud of him.  He did an amazing job.  I am so impressed with his drawing ability.  He has such artistic talent and I am so glad that he has gotten to work on it this semester.

Fully Vacinnated

This has been a month in the waiting but Joey and I are fully vaccinated.  We decided to drive all the way to Salem to make sure that we could get our first COVID shot in the first week that it opened up for anyone over 18.  Our second and final vaccine was tonight.  We celebrated with a little dinner at Mi Corazon- so good! It is comforting to know that we are both safe.  They have opened it up for anyone over 16 now to get their COVID shot.  Luke has his appointment for his first shot on this coming Wednesday.  So grateful for the vaccine.  Hopefully if enough people get the vaccine we can get back to normal.

Nash's Egypt Presentation

Nash has been working on his presentation with his two best buds Traycen, and Dylan.  They did their project on Pyramids, Temples, and Tombs.  They created an amazing slide show with tons of information. Then they made a pyramid/cornhole game.  I was so excited that they allowed parents to come and see their presentations.  We are starting to get back to normal and I love it!  The boys did such a great job and I loved that I got to see them in action.

Is he a Childs?

Luke downloaded an app on his phone that gives you a little preview as to how you could look when you are older. When he came to show me his picture I was shocked! He looks so much like Grandpa Childs.  We will have to have the rest of the kids try the app and see what they look like.

Spring Break in the SG

We decided to leave on Thursday night to beat the crowd.  We had a great drive down without traffic.  We arrived at 10:30pm. After unpacking we got to bed to prepare for a fun week.  On Friday Joey and I had to work quite a bit. The kids swam and Tag went birthday shopping with grandma and grandpa.  On Saturday we started the day with a few garage sales. We found an amazing shuffle board that we bought for the basement.  It is such a fun addition to the basement.  We spent the rest of the day listening to conference and spending time in the sun.  On Sunday we woke up to a visit from the Easter Bunny.  Then we got ready to go on a hike to the scout caves.  Luke and Tag opted to stay behind.  We had quite an adventurous hike as we went the wrong way.  Instead of the scout caves we went back through some treacherous terrain to Johnson's cave.  Minus a couple falls from the old lady, it was a beautiful hike. Then we went home for a yummy breakfast and more words from our leaders. After the second session of conference, grandma and grandpa came over for dinner and some shuffleboard. Such a fun night. We were all so excited that we still had a few more days in our favorite place. The next four days in SG were filled with lots of swimming, pickle ball, game night, Cracker Barrel with grandma and grandpa, and tons of fun.  Have I mentioned that I love this place?  I think it is impossible to have a a bad day in St. George.  We do not have the next trip planned but I hope we can get down again really soon.
