I had quite possibly the most stressful weekend of work trying to figure out a way to make a loan work so there was nothing better than waking up Monday morning to chat with Luke! To see his smiling face and know that he is still enjoying his mission, is truly the greatest blessing. He had a great week- he thought it was slow but he worked like crazy. He had several lessons and lots of finding! He even went out finding in the rain. But he still does it with a smile. So proud of this missionary and the example he is to all of us. Here's to another great week!
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

Two nights in one week!!
I am such a lucky mom! Har did not have any plans tonight so we decided to go see a movie. We saw a Haunting in Venice and it was surprisingly good. We had heated luxury seats, popcorn, and diet coke. Practically a perfect night. So grateful for Harlee. She is seriously the best daughter I could have been given. I will take any time she will spend with me. Such fun time together.

Arctic Monkeys
We bought tickets to this concert almost a year ago and it was finally the day! Har and I were going to Arctic Monkeys. We got our leather outfits so we would fit in, and we were on our way. We went to Goodwood for dinner. It was seriously so fun. We chatted the whole time! She is just so fun to be with. We were telling our waitress that we were headed to the concert and she asked if I was Har's mom. I said yes and she said that we look like sisters! So nice! After dinner, we made our way to Salt Lake. The concert was at the Delta Center. Our seats were pretty high up but we had the best time. The opener was Fountaines DC. The lead singer is from Ireland and it was so hard to understand him. But Har thought that he was so cute which made the music a little more enjoyable. Arctic Monkeys came out a little after 9pm. They put on an amazing show! They sound so good live. At one point we were up dancing and Har just hugged me and said thank you. She is seriously the best. I would spend every second with her if I could. She is the best of the best and I am so lucky to be her mom. I will never forget this night.

Traverse Mountain Elementary Carnival
Tonight was the Traverse Mountain Elementary school carnival. Tag was so excited to go and his amazing brothers were willing to take him. They said that it was not as good as last year but they had a good time. I am just so grateful for these boys and how they look out for each other. Even if they did not have the best time, I hope these memories will last forever. And seriously this picture might be my new favorite! Love love love these cute boys.
Missionary Monday
So grateful it is Monday! I seriously look forward to chatting with Luke every week. He is doing such a great job on his mission and he is truly an example to all of us. This week was great for him. They had transfers and he is staying to finish out the training of Elder Christopherson. They switched up the mission boundaries and put to Creole missionaries in their apartment. One is great and the other is a little awkward. They are walking a lot more and half their mission is now in Newark- not exactly what a mom wants to hear but I know that he will be protected. He got something in his eye at the transfer meet up and had to go to Instacare. He found out that his eye was scratched so bad but was given a prescription to help it heal. Look at him adulting!! He has the best attitude and finds every opportunity to work with his whole heart. So proud of Luke and so grateful to hear that he had another amazing week.

Girls weekend
I was a little apprehensive about another girl's trip after the last one did not go so well, but I am so glad that I agreed to go. Marcae and I decided to go SG for the weekend. We left on Friday right after dinner and headed down. It was so fun just getting to chat and did not have any moments of silence the whole drive. We arrived around midnight and went to bed. We did not want to waste a moment so we got up at 8am and went walking. It was so fun and the setting was beautiful. After the walk we went to the Foot Palace for a FIKA type massage and then Porkbellys for lunch. She loved it just as much as we do. Then we went back to the house to lay out by the pool for a bit. After some relaxation we went shopping, to Pizza Factory for dinner, got shakes at Arctic Circle and then home to chat for hours in our jammies. We got up on Sunday, walked again, and then grabbed lunch at Cafe Rio before heading home. We literally talked the whole drive and I feel like we still had so much to say. She is such a great friend! I am so grateful I gave the girls trip another chance.

Lagoon
After we failed to keep our promise of going to Lagoon last summer, I made a vow to make it happen this year. We decided to go on Sept 9th and it was seriously the best decision. The weather was pretty perfect and it was not crowded at all. Tag had said he was going to try Lagoon but seeing it in real life quickly changed his mind. He did try and LOVE the old roller coaster. He rode that several times. We got to go on everything that we wanted: Cannibal several times, Wicked, Colossus, Re-Entry, Boomerang, Samari, Rattlesnake Rapids, and several other rides. We only stopped to eat lunch and then just went ride to ride enjoy a perfect family day! I am so grateful for my crew. We missed Luke but hopefully he will join us once he gets home.

Cartoons around the world
Tag was given the assignment to do a report on things around the world. Tag chose to do cartoons around the world. He had to find a cartoon that is popular on each of the continents except for Antarctica. So Tag chose two from North America. He worked hard and wrote the information on each cartoon. We put the poster together yesterday and it turned out so good. He will present the information tomorrow at school. I am so proud of him. He works so hard and is really doing amazing in school. Love this sweet boy.
So close...
The countertops were installed in the St George basement kitchen. After 24 hours, the contractor can hook up the sink and finish a little trim work on the cabinets. Then the kitchen should be fully functional. I don't know if we are more excited or Carson and Kylee. They will be able to have their own beautiful space. So grateful that we were able to make that happen this year. It truly is beautiful.

Almost nine months in...
Another amazing week for our favorite missionary! He got to go to the temple again because Desmond went to do baptisms for the first time. The branch president is a diplomat for the church and has an office in the Manhattan Temple. He took Luke and his companions up to the top floor of an apartment building next to the temple. They went up to the roof and got to see a view of all New York. He is living my bucket list! They had a great week full of knocking, knocking, and a little finding. Luke loves to get out and work. I am so proud of him! He had his interview with President Durrant and he just loves him. I'm so glad. I am sure it makes it so much easier to serve when you love who you are serving with. Keep working hard Elder C! You are an example to us all.
