"The face"

About 20 times a day (I am not kidding) Gray brings me a granola bar to open for him. He loves granola bars. He started making this funny face every time he would bring me one. It was so funny! So now every time he wants me to open one I make him do the face! He does it each time and each time it cracks me up! This kid is seriously so funny! We never know what he is going to do next but cannot wait to find out! *He had to do the face this morning when I was trying to take his picture. It was his preschool Halloween party. Hopefully this will not be the new thing he does when the camera comes out! Cute for the granola bar but not so cute when I am wanting a nice smiling picture!

A new chef in the house!

Yesterday Harlee went to her first cooking class. A lady in another neighborhood on Traverse Mountain is teaching these lessons out of her home. They made spooky treats for Halloween. She is going next week to learn how to make sugar cookies. She is loving it! I am loving the fact that maybe someday I will not be the only one who gets to make the meals! So fun to watch her love learning new things.

Blackmail

The other night when we were getting ready to get Tag to bed, Joey created this awesome look for Tag! I think this might be the picture we show all of his first dates when he is older! His expression is already telling that he will not like that idea.

Enjoying one of the last days of warmth...

It was a beautiful day and for once the afternoon was free. I packed up the kids and we went to the Eagle Summit Park. It is a great compromise park. It has swings for Tag, tons of climbing stuff for the older ones, and slides for Nash and Gray. They all had so much fun. I love to watch them play together and enjoy sibling time. In moments like this, the craziness of having them so close together seems to disappear. I feel so lucky to be able to stay home and raise these kiddos. I love that we get to enjoy afternoons at the park. Such a great day!

Monster Nash

Everyday Nash comes home from school, he is so excited to show me all of the things that he has made. Today he came home to show me his green monster. He wanted to try it on and have me take a picture! Cutest green monster I have ever seen! Love this boy!

Traverse Mountain Monster Mash

As if the school carnival was not fun enough- we get to enjoy the Monster Mash! The kids were so excited to go and there was no way that we were getting out of it! I decided to just take the three older ones. After dinner they informed me that they needed to get dressed in their costumes. We got there and it was not what they were expecting. Luke and Nash went through the spook alley and then we went down to the cafeteria. There was nothing to do and Luke said this is so dumb! So we came home and made some icecream sundaes. A little bright light after they were bummed with the not so fun carnival.

Fall soccer is coming to an end...

Saturday was Harlee's last game and Nash only has one more. We were so lucky for both of them to have quite the cheering squad! Mimi, GP, Brennan, Mindi, Brody, and Carson. They both played such good games. Harlee scored 2 goals and so did Nash. They are both such good little soccer players. It is so fun to watch them and see the pride on their faces when they succeed. So proud of these two!

Jumping away the last day of break

We had to come home on Sunday from SG since Joey had a meeting on Monday that he had to be at. But since the kids still had one day of the break and we needed to do something fun. We decided to go to Airborne and let them jump their energy out! We were so lucky that Uncle Ryan was there and we were able to go for free. The kids had such a blast. Tag could live in the foam pit! I just love watching them have fun. Such a gift!! After Airborne we went to Sonic for some treats. What a fun afternoon! I can't believe that I conquered an outing with 5 kids! I have to admit that it is getting a little easier. So lucky to be the mom of these five little crazies!!

Scary moment with our quiet troublemaker

On Saturday when the boys were starting to feel and we were relaxing in our room. The boys were all playing cars and Special Agent Oso was on. After a few minutes I noticed Tag was out of the room. Nash offered to go get him. When he did not come right back, I went to find them. The front door was open and Nash was walking Tag back. That stinker had opened the front door and was a few houses down. This kid is going to be the death of me. He is so quiet and escapes unnoticed. So hard to always have my eye on him but I am now realizing more than ever that I have to. I am so glad that we noticed he had disappeared when we did. I don't even want to think about the horrible outcomes that could have been. *This picture was taken at Slick Rock park but fit perfectly with this entry!

Our Fall Break in the SG

We were so excited to get another opportunity to enjoy our blessing in St. George. Since the kids had UEA for school we decided it would be the perfect time to go down. So as soon as Joey got home on Wednesday we were on the road. We arrived in St. George right before 10. It is such a blessing to have a home there. You walk in and it truly feels like home- so comfortable. We had a good night sleep and then woke up ready for fun. The weather was cold so we made plans that did not include the pool. We went and spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa. Then we got lunch and the sun started to come out. They decided to try the pool and that lasted about 10 minutes. We spent the rest of the day hanging out as a family. Friday was much nicer weather. We went to lunch at Pizza Factory with Gma and Gpa. Then I took the kids over to their place to swim since their pool is heated. They could have stayed all day! Then we came home and got the scooters and made our way to the rock climbing park. We had so much fun climbing and doing races around the trail. Then we grabbed dinner and went to Swig. What a great day! Saturday morning the stomach flu hit! Seems like we cannot have a vacation without someone getting sick. Nash and Gray both had it but were better by the afternoon. We spent the day working in the house and yard. Luke and Harlee went and spent more time swimming at Gma's house. The little sickies were fine by the afternoon and we went to Pirate Cove at night. Darolyne had told us about this grand opening and Nash was not going to let us miss it! The kids had fun and that almost made it worth the $70! KC was down visiting so he came with us. It was fun to spend a little time with him! We got up Sunday morning and cleaned to leave. We were able to leave at 10:30am- a new record! Such a great break (minus the sick) and such wonderful family time!

Utah never tasted so good

All of the fourth graders were asked to bake/frost a cake and cut it in the shape of Utah. When they got to school they had to mark all the cities, rivers, mountains, and other special Utah monuments. What a great idea! They had so much fun marking everything. What a clever way to teach the kids about mapping and then they got to eat it! Love that he is learning so much! He has the best fourth grade teacher.

Harlee's Soccer Pictures

Harlee's soccer season is almost coming to an end- she has just a few more games. Before the game on Saturday they did a team picture. I cannot believe how well she is doing this season. She just gets in there with no fear. She made two goals at her game on Saturday. So proud of you Harlee!

Luke's last soccer game of the season

On Saturday Luke had his last soccer game of the fall season. It is so fun to watch him play- he has gotten really good. He made his first goal two games ago and I was such the proud mom! This last game was played in Orem so Mimi, GP, and Brennan came to cheer him on. He did awesome! He is now going to play futsal and his practices start on Tuesday. No rest for our soccer boy!

42 is the new 19

I stole that title right out of Joey's email to me this morning. He is so right! He looks so great for is age and I cannot believe he is 42! It seems like yesterday we celebrated his 30th birthday together just 17 days before he proposed! It is crazy how quickly time flies. I feel so bad because his day was just like any other day. I just have to remind myself that this is Joey we are talking about. He is the guy that I wished a day full of no one realizing it was his birthday and no extra attention! So I guess he got the birthday of his dreams. When he got home from work he quickly opened presents before Harlee's soccer game and my teaching. We had his favorite german chocolate cake when I got home. We get to go have a little date today so we both are excited about that! Happy birthday to my best friend! I cannot wait to see what this year brings!
