Luke's Date in the SG

So it is almost the end of the June and I could not let the month end without following through with our Christmas gift dates.  We had originally wanted to take Luke ax throwing but he was not excited about that.  So we decided to go to the movies and see the movie "Yesterday".  It was a good movie and Luke even liked it!  After the movies we took Luke to Hash House A Go Go.  It is a delicious restaurant that has enormous portions.  We enjoyed amazing conversation with Luke while we feasted on so much food.  We had a great time spending time with Luke.  I love these special dates.  I for sure will be gifting more dates this coming Christmas.

Fun at Ivins Resevoir

Today we spent the morning relaxing and then we decided to go to Ivins.  We packed up the kayaks and made our way to one of our favorite places.  This reservoir has been closed for a while so we were so excited to get to go there again.  It was not crowded at all and the weather was kind of perfect.  We all took turns kayaking.  The kids went first and Harlee was so nice to take Tag with her.  After they came back in, Luke and I kayaked out as far as we could.  It was so peaceful and so much fun.  We love being outside and spending time together.  What a beautiful way to spend our evening.

Our Favorite Day

We woke up early today and made our way to Sand Hollow.  We decided it was about time that the Childs experienced a little boating.  Joey grew up on the water but I did not.  I was so excited to try boating and to have our kiddos get to try also.  We rented an 8 person boat and a big tube.  Tag was a bit nervous but warmed up to the idea pretty quick.  We got on the boat and drove out to the middle of the lake.  Once we were out far enough we took turns getting pulled on the tube.  I seriously could not believe how fun this was!  I may have screamed like a little girl.  Joey was a crazy driver and did not hold back in trying to make us fall off of the tube.  After everyone had a few turns we parked the boat and the kids jumped off boat and swam for a little while.  They had the best time!  I sat there next to Joey enjoying the beautiful scenery and the laughter from our kids loving the water.  We then got back in the boat and the kids all took another turn on the tube before our time was up.  We will for sure be doing this again and I really think we should find a way to buy a boat!  After Sand Hollow we grabbed some lunch and then went home.  The kids spent the afternoon in the pool and then at dinner time Joey and I went out on a little date.  We went to Hash House A Gogo.  The food was amazing.  Joey got the biggest chicken fried steak and I got eggs and a brown sugar banana pancake.  It was so good and the company was even better.  What an amazing day!

St George Summer 2019

Oh I have been counting the days until we were able to go and spend a week in our favorite place!  On Sunday after church we quickly ate lunch, packed the car, and we were off.  We were so excited to drive down in the luxury of the Sequoia!  The drive down was great and we arrived around 5:30pm.  We unpacked and went to grab dinner.  After dinner the kids swam and we enjoyed the beautiful weather.  Such a great day.  On Monday Joey and worked in the morning while the kids relaxed and swam.  In the afternoon we went to see Toy Story 4.  It was a cute movie and I loved the ending.  After the movie we went to pizza factory for dinner.  It was a great day!  Tuesday was a super chill day.  We spent time relaxing and swimming.  In the afternoon Joey took the boys to a new park for some pickleball and playing in the water.  They had so much fun.  We went to bed pretty early as we had big plans to go to Sand Hollow the next day.  I will end this post as the time at Sand Hollow deserves a post of it's own.  Loving our time in our favorite place!

Youth Conference

Luke just returned from Youth Conference and he had a great time!  On Thursday night the got dressed up and went to the church for a catered dinner from Maglebys and a fireside.  On Friday morning I dropped him off at the church and he was off.  They went to Snow College for an overnight trip.  They played some water games, had dinner, and then they went to the Manti pageant.  It is the last year that they will be having the Manti pageant so it was pretty cool that they got to go.  He then went back to Snow college and stayed up until 2am with his roommates Sam, Micah, and Logan.  In the morning they had breakfast and then headed home.  I am so grateful that Luke gets to go and enjoy these fun experiences.

Father's Day

I woke up so excited to get to celebrate Joey today!  He is such an amazing dad and we feel so blessed to have him leading our family.  We made him breakfast eggs, bacon, hash browns, and orange rolls.  Then we gave him some new shirts, candy, money, and treats.  Tag made a cute sign that said Father's Day with an arrow pointing down.  He held it over Joey's head!  So cute!  After church and a much needed nap, we feasted on Joey's requested steak and chicken fajitas.  We had Joey's favorite chocolate caramel brownies and ice cream for dessert.  Happy Father's Day Joey!  Hope you felt as special as you are.

Ward Campout

Well this is a post I never thought I would be typing.  We all went to the ward camp out which means we all slept in a tent.  Which means I slept in a tent with my family.  I honestly thought I was exempt from these things but the weather cancelled the father and sons a few weeks ago.  Someone thought it would be a good idea to hold a ward camp out a few weeks later where the whole family would go.  I tried to get out of it but Joey wouldn't go for it.  We packed up the car and headed out.  On our way to Park City we stopped for dinner in Fort Union.  The boys had Carl's Junior and Har and I had Noodles and Company.  Then we made our way to the campsite.  I have to admit that we had fun.  We set up camp and then went on a little walk.  Then we sat around and told scary stories.  Once it was dark we settled in our tents.  Har, Nash, Gray, and Luke slept in one tent and then Joey, Tag, and I in another.  We are surprisingly slept good.  We stayed warm and felt pretty rested.  We woke up at 6:30 am and packed things up.  We were done and on the road by 7:20 am.  We stopped at McDonald's for a little breakfast on the way home.  We survived and actually had a good time.  Not good enough for me to commit to another camping trip right now but it was so fun to be with my family.
