Halloween Night

We had a Halloween first this year when Nash took Gray and Tag trick or treating.  No adults!  They took Joey's phone and kept us updated on how things were going.  Harlee went trick or treating with her friends and Luke hung out with some of his friends.  Joey and I stayed home and passed out candy.  The kids had so much fun and got so many treats.  I love that they are old enough to venture out on their own.

Mimi's Cookie Party

With Jenna healing, Mimi asked if I could host the Halloween party at our house.  We decided to scale down a little and have pizza then decorate cookies.  Mimi and Don's family came over.  It was so nice to get to visit with them and for the kids to spend time with some of their cousins.  They did a cookie challenge where they would grab candy from Mimi's candy bucket and they had to put it on their cookie.  Tag even touched chocolate.  So cute!  I am grateful these times and for the memories they get to make with family.

Dressing up for school

Halloween is tomorrow but the kids dressed up for school today.  Due to COVID we are not having the annual parade.  The kids were so excited to dress up.  Harlee was Mild Sauce and her friends were other sauce packets.  Nash was Mr. Clean.  His costume took the most preparation but it was great!  Gray was a blue blow up guy.  He reminded me of the blueberry from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  Tag was the guy from Hello Neighbor.  I guess he is a guy who beats children with shovels and when they become conscious again they wake up in his basement.  Mom fail!  Should have done a little more research before agreeing to that costume.  They all looked so cute and were super happy with the way their costumes turned out.  Luke had left for school before the picture was taken but I teased that he went as a grumpy teenager again this year.  Just kidding Luke!  I hope that they have a great day celebrating at school.

Cornbelly's Blitz

The weather was perfect today so we decided to do our annual Cornbellly's blitz where we go and spend all of the stamps we have left.  It was super crowded but that could not ruin our fun.  We started with some fun silly houses before getting some french fries and drinks.  Then we got some chocolate chips cookies and rode Cornado which was tough for my dizziness.  We polished off the stamps with some rock candy.  It was another great year at Cornbelly's. Love this family time.

Hat Day

This week is red ribbon week at the elementary school.  Today is hat day.  I tried to suggest that Tag wear his super cool Luigi baseball cap but his choice could not be swayed.  Tag chose to proudly wear his fedora.  I LOVE IT!  Tag is such an amazing example of being true to yourself and not caring what others think.  So proud to be his mom.

Big Day for Jenna

It has been a crazy couple of weeks.  Jenna went in for her mammogram and they found a spot.  She went back in for a follow-up and they could not find the original spot but they found another.  They biopsied the spot and found out it was cancer.  I could not believe it- she has breast cancer.  It is so sad to not be able to fix this for her.  Today she had a double mastectomy.  She was nervous but handled it like a champ.  I am so proud of her and she is an example of strength.  She will find out next week if the cancer has spread.  I just pray that this will be the hardest part of her journey.

Our little mermaid

Ike is such a great sport!  The kids love to dress him up.  Today they got out a green hand towel and a red hand towel.  They worked their magic and our cute puppy turned into the little mermaid.  He did not enjoy the dress up but was still long enough for me to snap a picture.  Such a cute puppy!

Harlee's Date

It was finally Har's turn for her date.  We had originally planned to go and make chocolates but Har did not seem to excited about it.  I approached her with the idea of going to lunch and then going shopping.  She loved it.  We went to Goodwood for lunch.  It was so fun to sit there and chat with her.  I have a feeling that Joey felt a little outnumbered.  After lunch we went to Savers for Har to do a little thrift shopping.  After we found a brand new shirt for Har we went to At Home.  Har and I are working on the guest room so we were looking for a few things to add to the room.  We found a really cute art piece to hang on the wall.  Then we told Harlee that she could pick out something for her room as part of her date.  Har loves home decor.  She found a blanket ladder for her room.  After shopping we went to JCW's to get a shake.  It was so much fun.  I love spending time with her.  She is just so fun to be around.  That's a wrap for the dates for 2020.  Can't wait to plan their dates for next year.

Adult Free Cornbelly's

Today Luke drove all of his siblings to Cornbelly's for some Saturday fun.  I was so nervous to let them go alone but they had a lot of fun.  They actually did the corn maze that was Toy Story themed this year.  Then they went on a few other attractions before buying some kettlecorn and caramel apples.  I cannot believe we are at this point in life where they are old enough to go and have fun without us.  I love that they had a great time together and pray they always stay close.

Childs Haunted House

We always need to wait until we are back from Fall Break but then it is on!  The kids cannot wait to get the house all scary with the Halloween decorations.  We added a few new ones this year.  I love that they all work together and enjoy the outcome.  Hopefully we scare a few trick or treaters away!

Fall Break in the SG

We were counting down the days until we could go spend a little time in our favorite place.  We left on Wednesday around 5:30pm and drove with the rest of the Utah County.  There was quite a bit of traffic so we ended up arriving around 10:30pm.  Thursday the kids swam and relaxed while Joey and I had to work.  That night we went to play pickleball at the new park.  The pickleball courts were full but the kids had a great time playing on the playground and investigating the tunnel.  Then we went over to the courts by our house and played a few rounds of pickle ball.  It was so fun.  The next day we had Joey's parents over for lunch and we got Chili's to go.  It was so fun to visit with them.  We enjoyed the rest of the just hanging out and playing four square.  Saturday we got up and went to some garage sales.  Then Joey took the boys to House of Jump while Har and I did a little shopping.  It was so fun.  We got a few things to leave in SG.  We are super close to not needing to pack for our trip which is so nice.  Then we all went to try our new restaurant Good Burger.  It was pretty good!  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and then Joey and I went to Don Pedros for a little date.  On Sunday we watched church before cleaning the house.  We left around 1pm and hit horrible traffic on the way home.  It was so worth it though.  I am sure I have mentioned this a million times but I LOVE ST. GEORGE.  I love the memories that we get to make and all of the time we get to spend together.  So grateful for this blessing in our life.

The Challenge

The boys decided that they would do a challenge together.  They each put on 6 long sleeve shirts and 6 pairs of pants.  Then they were outside to see how long they could last in the sun.  They were super bummed when they realized it was not too hot yesterday.  I love that they come up with these creative ways to have fun and I really love that they do it together.  They are so lucky to have each other.  Love these cute boys.

Super Dog

Tag found this cape and wanted to put it on Ike.  Ike was not a big fan but went along with it.  Seriously so cute!  Ike is a super dog as he has the ability to make all of us feel loved.  We are so grateful for him.

General Conference

As we watched the Sunday morning session of conference we played the traditional conference bingo.  I love watching the kids listen intently to the talks to hear of the things that they are needing to satisfy a square on their bingo page.  I am so grateful for conference.  It is such a blessing to be able to hear the words of Heavenly Father and to feel the Spirit.  Life has been so crazy these last 6 months and to be able to feel the comfort that these talks bring is such a blessing.

Women's Conference

Tonight Harlee and I got to spend some time together while watching the Women's session of conference.  We went and got El Mexiniques for dinner and then picked up a frozen hot chocolate from Twisted Sugar for dessert.  The talks were so good.  We even got to hear from Elder Eyring, Elder Oaks, and from our beloved Prophet.  Such a special meeting and I loved watching it with my favorite girl.

Our favorite guy is 49

Happy birthday to one of the greats!  I was thinking that this is the 19th birthday that I have gotten to celebrate with Joey.  I love the opportunity we have to give a little extra love and attention to someone who does not usually get the spotlight.  Joey and I went to Goodwood for his birthday date and then spent a little time at Liquidation Team.  Following the second session of conference we gave Joey a few gifts and then enjoyed a german chocolate cake that Har and I made from scratch.  I sure feel blessed that this guy was born.  He is my greatest blessing and is always an example to me.  Love you old man!

Cornbelly's

It is that time of year again and we are season pass holders!  I cleared my afternoon so I could take the kids to Cornbelly's for the first time of the season.  Luke had to work but the other four were excited.  We had a great time!  They are requiring reservations due to COVID so it was not too busy.  The kids started with the giant slide then the train, then the zip lines, playground, giant swing, playground and then ended our time on the big blob.  Tag was sad to leave after only two hours but I promised him that we would go back again.  It is so fun to watch them have fun!  So grateful we can get passes each year and enjoy this fall fun together.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
