Childs Easter Egg Hunt

Since we were spending time with my family on Easter the Childs egg hunt was scheduled for the following Saturday.  We had so much fun!  The whole family besides Daryk were there and it was so great to catch up with everyone.  We did the adult hunt in KC and Mike's backyard.  Brody and Carson were the big winners.  Then we headed back to John and Darolyne's for the kids hunt.  Everyone got at least $10 and lots of candy.  We had pizza and ice cream and it was the best time.  I am so grateful for this amazing family that I get to be a part of.

Nash's Date

We have had a crazy month but we were not going to let April pass us by without taking Nash on his special date.  We were so excited to spend a little time with Nash.  For his date we started out at Top Golf.  We were so excited to get to go to Top golf again.   We rented the booth for an hour and got plenty of turns to practice our swing.  Joey did AMAZING!  I would almost be mad at him for being so good at everything if it wasn't so attractive.  Nash and I started off a little rocky but got much better with practice.  We took turns hitting balls while enjoying the delicious donuts.  After an hour we made our way to Cafe Rio for lunch.  Nash chose Cafe Rio once he learned we could get chips and salsa.  It was so fun to spend time with him and hear all about what is going on in his life.  He is such an amazing kid and I so enjoyed this special time with him.

Color Run

After a very stormy morning, the weather turned beautiful just in time for the Ignite Color Run.  The course was a little over two miles.  As the kids went through the starting line and any water station they were showered with color.  What a fun run!  Both Harlee and Nash finished the race with a smile on their face so that is a great sign!  I was able to cheer them both on at the finish line.  I am so glad that they get to have these fun experiences.

We have a dentist in the family

Congratulations Jeremy!  He graduated this morning from Roseman Dental School.  It has been a long road for him but so worth it.  I am so happy for him.  He received a scholarship where he gives three years to work in a dental clinic in the US and gets paid a very competitive salary.  They are moving to Virginia.  I am going to miss them so much but I am so excited for them.  Thanks Jeremy for being such an example to me.

Mimi's Easter Egg Hunt

So typically we try to celebrate with family on a day around the holiday so that on the actual holiday we can celebrate at home with just our little family.  Today we made an exception and celebrated with my side of the family.  The reason for the exception was because all of my family, except for Kaydan, came into town for Jeremy's graduation from dental school tomorrow.  It was so fun to have everyone there.  I loved visiting with everyone and catching up.  We had a yummy dinner of ham and potatoes before doing the egg hunt.  The kids all had so much fun searching for the eggs.  After the hunt Don and Charity gave my mom an egg with an ultrasound picture in it.  They are expecting another baby!  So excited for them.  I am so grateful for the time I got to spend with all of my siblings.  They are such blessings to me.

Easter Morning

What a beautiful morning!  The kids woke up to full Easter baskets and big smiles on their faces.  They all got a couple of shirts, the boys also got a new hat and Har got some new sandals.  Each basket also included lots of treats.  The bunny sure spoiled the Childs kiddos!  After half of the treats were consumed, we got ready and went to church.  Luke was not feeling well so he stayed home.  It was so wonderful to go to church and feel the Spirit on this special day.  I am so grateful for all that my Savior has done for me.  Because of Him I can make mistakes and be forgiven.  Because of Him I can live again.  Because of Him I can live with my family forever.  Because of Him I will have eternal happiness.  I will never be able to express all of my gratitude for His sacrifice.  What a beautiful opportunity I have today to thank Him.

Is this a bad sign?

This morning when I was pulling out of the garage to take the kids to school, the manual release string got caught on the roof rack of our new car and the garage came down on our car.  Thankfully, by some miracle, the car was not damaged.  I wish I could say the same about the garage.  I called our garage company and they were able to come out within a couple of hours.  He helped me get the garage up so I could get the car out and then he was able to get the door down so we could keep the garage secure.  I think we will go through our home owner's insurance.  So grateful for insurance and so grateful that the car and everyone inside was safe.  Hopefully this is not a sign that the car purchase was a bad choice...

Square Kitchen Field Trip

Today Nash got to go on a field trip to square kitchen in Salt Lake for a field trip.  They took the frontrunner and then walked two miles to the kitchen.  Nash said it was fun to learn how to make empanadas however he did not love to eat them.  He said the best part of the field trip was the ride back on the frontrunner.  He and his friends got to ride in the nice top section.  I love that he gets to have these fun experiences.

New Purchase

We love the pilot and it has been such a blessing for our family.  However, with our kids growing so tall it has been a little cramped, especially on our trips to SG.  So we have been looking and found a Toyota Sequoia.  On Saturday Joey and I drove up to Clearfield and test drove a White 2015 Toyota Sequoia.  It was beautiful- so clean with gray leather interior.  I was wondering where we sign because I was sold!  We discussed trading in the pilot and they only wanted to give us $9000.  I told Joey I would follow his lead and that was really difficult when Joey stood up and said we would need to think about it.  I was so bummed.  We tried to sell the pilot on our own for a few days with not much luck.  On Tuesday Joey came up with a plan... he wanted me to text the sales guy and say that if he would give us $10,500 for the Pilot then we would buy the Sequoia.  He said that was a go and we were so excited.  We drove up Wednesday night and paid cash for the car.  I seriously LOVE it.  We will need to get new tires but other than that it is perfect.  It is so roomy and will be such a blessing for our family.

Last Few Days in our Favorite Place

We woke up Friday ready to enjoy another beautiful day!  John and Darolyne took Tag shopping for his birthday.  He cashed in on some Minecraft duds, a few mario/luigi hot wheels, and a huge squirt gun.  He was so excited.  Then Joey and I went to Cafe Sabor with John and Darolyne.  It was so nice to spend time with them minus the noisy kids.  Darolyne and I surely did most of the talking.  When we got back we decided to go to Gunlock.  The waterfalls were up and going so we were excited to go and see them.  It was a beautiful hike and the waterfalls were gorgeous.  We watched crazy people jump off of the cliffs and I was so grateful that the kids did not want to jump off!  We went home and grabbed some fast food for dinner.  We finished the night by watching a Dog's Purpose.  Saturday morning we woke up and Joey, Harlee, and I went to a few garage sales.  We found a few cute things to bring back with us.  We got home and watched the first session of General Conference.  In between sessions, Tiffini Taggart and her family came over for swimming and pizza.  It was so fun to visit with them.  We watched the second session of conference and then went to Chili's for dinner.  After dinner we came home and worked together to get the house cleaned.  As a reward for a great cleaning job, we celebrated with a little ice cream from Arctic Circle.  I am so sad to leave tomorrow but we really have had an amazing spring break.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
