Morristown is under new management

This was the title of Luke's email this week.  He had transfers last Friday and he will stay in the same area.  His new companion is Elder Watkins.  When I spoke with Luke this morning I could tell something was a little off.  He cannot say much but he is not clicking with this new companion.  I feel so bad.  I tried to give him some advice on finding common ground and trying to see the good.  I also told him that if all else fails start a countdown as to how long he will have to serve with him.  I sure hope it will get better for him.  In other news, Luke was asked to be District Leader.  He will be an amazing leader.  He always has been.  He knows how to lead in a strong yet unintimidating way.  He will be such a good example to those in his district.  I am so excited to hear all about what he learns and to see even more growth.  So proud of our missionary.  He spends his days serving our Heavenly Father and sharing the truth of the Gospel with the people of New Jersey.

Ike's new bed

When Har and I were shopping for the office renovation we went to liquidation team and we saw this bed for Ike.  We decided to try to update the rug under the table and went back to liquidation team.  There were not any rugs that would work but we did give in and buy Ike a new bed.  I think it is safe to say that he loves it.  He does look super cute in the middle of that big bed.

Best surprise...

Today I opted to grab In and Out for dinner- didn't feel like cooking after all the work this week on the office.  I was also really missing Joey- I kind of hate when he is gone.  So there I am in the drive thru line when I get a text from a number I did not know.  I open it up and see the picture.  There was also a text that said' "We loved having your sons here in our home.  THANK YOU for sharing them with us in NJ."  I did not know how much I needed this.  I love that people are taking care of my boy while he is serving his mission.  Such a needed tender mercy today.  Love and miss Luke so much.

A little office spruce up

When Joey first told me about his two Poland trips I decided the first trip that we would go to SG to pass the time.  The second trip Har and I decided that we needed a project.  We have been wanting update the office so that is what we chose to do.  We found an accent wall on pinterest that we wanted to put in there and we were super excited.  We started prepping on Saturday after Joey left and finally finished up today.  We are a little obsessed.  Hope Joey likes it since he has no idea what has been going on while he is away.  So don't miss the yellow stripe.

Father's Day Lunch

Jenna was out of town until Sunday so we decided to take my Dad to lunch on Monday to celebrate Father's Day.  He chose Chili's.  Don and his girls, Brennan, Jenna, and I were able to make it.  It was fun to visit with everyone.  We spent a lot of the lunch talking about music which is one of my favorite topics.  We got Dad a few vinyls to go with the record player we got him last year.  Happy Father's Day Dad!  Grateful for you.

Hello Elder C!

Yay!  It's Monday.  I get so excited to hear from our boy.  He had another great week.  Transfers are at the end of this week so it is the last few days with Elder Churchie!  They spent their week working hard.  He had a lesson with Shawn, lots of door knocking, dinner with Gerry where he tried Tofu.  What?  He also had lunch with Joyce and played cards.  Today he got to go to hang out with Elder Myers while Elder Church got to go to the Statue of Liberty.  Love these pictures!

Father's Day came early

Joey has to go to Poland again and left yesterday.  So sad that he is no here so we can celebrate him.  We got him some presents and cards: cologne, some new shirts, and some treats.  He seemed to like them in all of his Joey enthusiasm.  Joey got to chat with Luke today which was so special for him.  I hope that Joey knows how grateful we are for him.  Joey is such the perfect leader for our family.  He leads with kindness and an amazing example.  He is so funny and laughs the hardest at his own jokes.  He loves to hide and scare Har and I.  He just makes life fun.  Happy Father's Day to the best there is!  Next year we are going to spoil you!!

Check out that smile...

Today was the big day!  Nash got his braces off.  He had to wear his braces for almost 3 years so he is super excited! His smile looks amazing and he looks so old.  He will go on Aug 2 to get his gums lasered and Dr. Horsley said his teeth will look double the size.  His smile looks wonderful now so I can only imagine how great it will look after the gums are done.  He will be rocking the perfect Horsley smile for his 9th grade year.  So handsome!

Six months down...

This week our missionary hit the 6 month mark!  He is 1/4 has completed 1/4 of his mission.  So crazy!  I have felt his absence every day but when I look back, it does seem to be moving quickly.  This week Elder C got to meet his new mission president and his wife- President and Sister Durrant.  He said that they seem super cool and funny.  I am so glad!  Change can be hard but hopefully he will like the new president as much as the Rolfe's.  Luke worked super hard one day.  He talks about calling 83 people and only 8 answered.  That would get so old.  He had quite a few lessons and Ada made it to church.  He is doing amazing things and I am so proud.

Trek

Nash made a decision a few weeks ago to go to Trek.  His friend Dylan said that if Nash went his uncle would put them in the same group.  He was excited to be in a family with Dylan and Parker.  Trek started on Wednesday June 7th bright and early.  They were not allowed to take their phones so I did not hear from him until I picked him up on Saturday.  Thankfully, Dylan's mom Kelly was there and she sent me photos everyday.  Bless her!  The first night they got rained out and almost decided to call it.  Thankfully the waited out the storm and besides a little mud, they were back to trekking the next morning.  Nash worked hard and had a great attitude.  He talked about the spiritual experience that the women's pull was and how he got to square dance with a couple of cute girls!  So proud of him for going and so thankful for the amazing experience that he got to be a part of.  He was so ready for a shower when he got home!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
