We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

A "New Addition" to the family
With Luke's birthday looming and wanting to give him the Santa Fe to drive, we have been looking for something new for Joey. He has been looking for a Tundra but they are so expensive. He found one on Saturday morning that came on KSL. He was texting back and forth and I could tell that he was pretty serious about this one. We drove up to Layton today to take it for a test drive. It was perfect and Joey was in love. Joey was able to talk him down to $17,300. The guy was nice enough to take a personal check and we are blessed enough to have the cash to buy it. We wrote the check and the truck is ours. We all love it! The kids think it is great. Luke is hoping some days that Joey will want to commute in the Santa Fe and he can drive the truck to school. I am so happy that Joey finally gets the truck of his dreams. He works so hard and totally deserves it.
The Big Interview
This morning Tag had his baptismal interview with the Bishop. Joey and I both went with him and he passed! Tag seemed a little nervous but he was able to answer all of the questions. I can't believe that my baby is getting baptized next Saturday. What a special day that will be. I am so proud of Tag and the decision he has made to become a member of the church.

Double Digits
Today Gray turned the big 10! I cannot believe he is so old. He is such an amazing kid! Gray has the funnest personality and the greatest laugh! He is such a great brother to his siblings and always tries to do what is right. We definitely needed to celebrate him today. We went to Airborne and let the kids jump. It was so fun to watch them all have fun together. I reminded Joey of how crazy it was having 5 kids under the age of 7. But to watch them all have fun together is the reward for the craziness. After some fun at Airborne we went to Gray's choice of Pizza Pie Cafe. It is a little different now since COVID and they serve you. Gray ate tons of pizza and broke his record by eating 9 pieces!! We came home and he opened his presents. This cute spoiled boy got his own Nintendo Switch! He was so excited. We finished the celebration with some cake. I am so grateful for Gray in our family. He is truly a blessing.

Much Needed Lunch Break
Today Erika took Tag and Luke to Airborne to hang out with Riley and Mia. They were so excited and had a great time. I decided to set work aside for a minute and took the remaining kiddos to get some lunch. We went to Summit Inn pizza. It was really fun to hang out with them and I had forgotten how good the food was. I need to make time each week for some fun with my kiddos. It definitely made my day so much better.
A New Puppy
I think of everyone in the family Ike for sure looked the most scroungy and quarantinish. We were finally able to get him into his groomer and I swear we got a back a different puppy. If not for his signature eyes I would have questioned it was our puppy. I am so glad that he was able to get groomed because the weather is getting so hot. He will love the less hair when he spends time outside. Love this before and after.

A Few Updates...
Updates are happening at the Childs! We have been wanting a sectional for the theater room in the basement for so long. Joey found a gray one on KSL and we jumped on it. I was so excited. We decided to run down to Liquidation Team and bought a new rug. I just love it down there. We moved the other sectional into the game room. It is so fun for the boys to have more places to lounge as they play their games. Joey also found a new light for the dining room. I am obsessed! It looks so good. I love all of the updates and the next update will be Harlee's bathroom. So fun.
Tag's Baptism Pictures
To say work has been busy for Joey and I would be an understatement. We have both been working 50-60 hour weeks. I kept putting off Tag's pictures so Harlee and Nash took over that task. They got him dressed in his suit and went outside. Nash has the job of making Tag smile and then Harlee would take the pictures. They did an amazing job. Here are a couple of the photos that I will set out at the baptism. I am so grateful that they stepped in and took something off of my plate. Such amazing pictures of my beautiful boy.

Memorial Day Hike
We wanted to go on a hike for Memorial Day. We drove to Cascade Springs in AF Canyon but it was closed. We drove through the canyon and ended up at Bridal Veil Falls. It was a nice and easy hike which was perfect because it was pretty hot. The falls were so beautiful! Reminds me of a date that Joey and I went on when we were first starting to hang out. So fun to share this with our family. After the hike we went to lunch at Pizza Factory. It was so nice to eat inside a restaurant as a family. We wish Luke would have been there with us but he has the sleeping schedule of a teenager for sure. Love these day offs and love spending time with my favorite people.

Luke's Date
Now that things are slowly starting to open up we decided to get back to the dates. Luke was up! We went K1Speedway in Sandy where we raced cars. It was so fun and slightly terrifying for one of us. The cars went so fast. We all did one race together and then Luke did another race. It was so fun to watch him. He was actually a little cautious which calmed my nerves slightly since he will soon be getting his license. After the races we went to Goodwood for lunch. It was so fun to have one on one time with Luke. He is such a good kid with funny personality. He makes me laugh and I love spending time with him. Love these dates! Seriously one of the best ideas! We will for sure keep this tradition going.

Thank you Cookie Cutters
Harlee did an amazing job on their haircuts but I was ready for them to get back into Cookie Cutters. They were required to wear masks but it was totally worth it. After about 30 minutes they were all looking fresh and new. So grateful for these handsome boys, their clean cut looks, and their crooked masks.

My Panda
It came! Tag has been waiting weeks for sleep mask. Harlee found a cute website she likes to order clothes on and they had a sleep mask. Tag has been wanting a sleep mask for a long time- such a funny kid! Well it came and Tag couldn't be happier. How cute is this sleepy panda. I love this boy!

Saturday is my favorite day
As I mentioned in the last post, we were planning on coming home on Saturday morning. Joey suggested we stay one more day it is was seriously the best idea. We woke up and went to a few garage sales. It was so fun to feel a little normal. We got a few nice things. We got home and decided to go on a hike before it got too hot. We went to a hike right before Snow Canyon. It was so nice to do something other than work. After a fun hike with minimal complaint we went home to enjoy a BBQ and some pool time. We then watched the movie Just Mercy and had Cafe Rio for dinner. Then we went to unsuccessfully play pickle ball but it was just nice to spend time as a family. What a perfect day in my perfect place.
