Who has a backyard like this?

Who has a backyard like this? That is the question that Joey asked me yesterday as we watched the kids sled from our bedroom window. How fun that they can just go out the backyard gate and hate a whole mountain to sled down! They had so much fun. They lasted over an hour with just a little bit of snow to sled down. I cannot wait to see how much fun they will have after we have a really good storm. Just another reason why we should never move!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

Not a moment was wasted. Thanksgiving was over and the next morning we started decorating. All of the decorations were up before 10am! That has to be some sort of record. I am not a huge fan of clutter but I have to admit that this clutter is pretty special. I spent the rest of the day wrapping presents. I am proud to say that we are almost completely ready for Christmas. Not bad for November 27th!! Knowing Joey I can bet that the day after Christmas that they decorations will come down just as quickly as they went up! I will have to return and report!

Thanksgiving 2015

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with my side of the family. Everyone was there except for Tara's family and Cory's family. We had dinner at Jenna's house. The food and the company was great. Unfortunately I did not get any pictures- so not like me!! We came home, changed into our comfy clothes, and had family game night. We played Life and ate tons of junk. I LOVE my family. I love spending time with them and having fun. Joey and the kids are my greatest blessings. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve them but I will spend my life letting them know how grateful I am that they are mine!

Team Childs

After the bath Tag wanted to wear Gray's soccer jersey. I know I do not need to mention what a big deal this is but I will. Tag is super particular about his clothing so I jumped at the chance when he wanted to try something new. His siblings were so proud of him and decided to join in. This made it even more fun for Tag to wear the jersey. He LOVES to be one of the big kids. Tag is so lucky to have older siblings that include him and love him so much.

Another Student of the Month

Today Luke came home and told me that he was chosen as Student of the Month. So proud of him and so not surprised. Luke is such a great student. His teachers always wish they had a classroom full of Luke's! This is what his teacher wrote about him: "Luke is always helping others along the way and puts his friends first. He also helps those who don't understand, start to figure it out" So proud of you Lukie! Luke also informed me today about a gal in his class that seems to be crushin on him! He says that she keeps reaching back to try to touch him and then brags to her friends when she succeeds! "I touched him!" she will say proudly. So cute! I am not surprised that he is the hot ticket in the 6th grade! P.S- Nash joined in the conversation and told me about the two girls that like him. One is Mia and one is Eden. He then said "Eden has the brown skin!" Politically correct? Love that cute boy!!

New Light

So Joey is in trouble if he thinks that I am ever going to want to move! We keep upgrading and perfecting upon what was already perfection in my eyes. We just found this new light for the amazing price of $90! Quite the steal. I LOVE it! So hip! What a great addition to the upgraded kitchen.

Reader's Theater

Harlee had a special Reader's Theater in her class. She played the "Papa". She looked so cute in the outfit of her choosing- her brother's baseball cap and tie! Loved seeing her interact with all of her classmates. Such a beautiful girl- even with a mustache!!

New Picture Wall

Thanks to Daryk's amazing photography skills I was able to update my photo wall above the fireplace. I love it. I just wish these cute kids would stop growing up. I love looking at this wall full of my greatest blessings!

Last year in the 30's...

What a special day! It is so fun to spend my birthday surrounded by the people I love the most! Joey took me to dinner while Luke babysat. So nice to spend some time alone. I got to choose and I chose Goodwood. Crazy how Joey's favorite place has become mine also! We came home and I was spoiled with presents. Tons of cute things from Downeast and lots of treats. Joey even bought me a red velvet cake. Such a great night and I felt so loved. Here is to living it up at 39! *This was the best option for a picture. Will I ever have a picture where everyone is looking and they don't have their feet in their mouth??

A Day that will go down in Childs history...

Today is a day that will go down in the history of the Joey Childs family. A day that will most likely never come again! All five of the Childs kiddos are cavity free! I could not believe it. I know I have mentioned it in previous posts but the Childs do not have the best luck at the dentist. On two different occasions, Gray and Nash both had 6 cavities. If they each only have one or two it feels like a victory. So needless to say this is a pretty special day! Love these cavity free kiddos! *On the way to the dentist Nash was a little nervous because his front tooth was loose. As they started to clean his teeth his tooth just fell out! Love his toothless grin!!

Trip to the Space Center

Luke's class had the opportunity to go to a space center on a field trip. Luke was so excited and had a great time. He was a little bummed however because of a girl that was put in his group. He said she was "not so smart" and she crashed the space ship which made their experience a little shorter than Luke would have preferred. So grateful that he gets to have these experiences. *Love this handsome boy! He rarely wears anything to school except for t-shirts and athletic shorts even in the snow. His teacher said he had to dress nice for the field trip.

New do's

We made our way back again to Cookie Cutter's so the haircut experience would be a little more enjoyable. We decided that it was time to make Tag's cut a little more current like his brothers. I love it! Such handsome boys.

Loving the change...

Last weekend Joey worked on the guest bath and got the cabinets painted. He did them a light gray and I am in LOVE! I am so grateful for Joey's willingness to work so hard and update our home.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
