Nash has just realized he can take steps. For the past few weeks we have worked with him and he might take 1 or 2 steps before dropping to his knees. With some practice and lots of praise he has been taking more steps and being brave. I cannot believe he is about to walk. His life has gone by the fastest of all the little ones. I think a lot of this comes from being so busy with all of them. I just want to freeze time and enjoy every moment. I bet it won't be very long before Nash is walking all over the place. What a big boy!!
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

BFF's at the Dinosaur Museum

Not a day goes by that Luke does not talk about Riley. Riley is always doing something super funny and makes Luke laugh constantly. Last week Riley's mom got our phone number from Mrs. Westover (Luke's teacher) and invited Luke over. She took them to McDonald's and then over to their house to play. Luke had a blast. So this week we invited Riley to go to lunch and to the Dinosaur museum. Joey was sick, which I felt so bad about, but he offered to keep Nash home for me. I still felt like I had my hands full with Luke, Riley and Harlee but they had so much fun. After the museum we went and grabbed big suckers in the candy store and back to our house to play. Luke was so sad when Riley left but we promised we would get them together at least once a week. I am so grateful that Luke is making good friends.
P.S Luke and Riley planned to dress the same on Friday. They always say "Let's copy"! I just hope they both make the best choices and copying will be a good thing!
A New Hobby
Nash has entered that super fun stage where he loves to get into anything and everything. His favorite lately seems to be the pan cupboard. I no sooner get it cleaned up and he makes his way over too it again. I love this picture because he seems to have the look that he has been caught. He is just growing so quickly. He has realized that he can take a few steps and loves to test himself. He will be walking so soon. We are so grateful for Nash and although he keeps us super busy, he is such a blessing.

Valentine's Day

Since Valentine's Day fell on a Sunday this year, we did most of our celebrating on Saturday. We had a little treat for each of the kids that they were excited about. I was thinking that we would just give them their treat on Sunday morning but the biggest kid, Joey, gets too excited. He could not wait so they got it on Saturday morning! Then we had Kaycee from my dance class, come and babysit so we could go to lunch. We went to Chili's and had a quiet time. It is so great to have the one on one time to talk and enjoy each other. This year we told each other we would just do cards for one another. When we got to the car, Joey handed me a big bag from Downeast. He had gotten me some new clothes, chocolate and the sweetest card. I loved it but felt so bad for sticking to the card only plan. He assured me that this day was more for him to spoil his wife. What a lucky girl I am. Not only did I get to spend the day with my cute kids but with the man I love the most. I feel truly blessed.
New Trick
Nash is such a funny kid. He is just a joy to have in our family. He is being a stinker with the walking. I think he realizes that he can get to places much faster by crawling. So rather than working on the walking, he is working on his somersault! He stands on his head and waits, however long, for someone to come by and roll him over. He loves this. What a crazy kid! I just cannot wait to see what he comes up with next!
Too much "FUN" with fun dip
On Friday Luke had his Valentine's party at school. He came home with a ton of cards and candy. I was very proud of him as he shared his treats with Harlee. He received two fun dips and poured the sugar into bowls. They then put the fun dip all over their faces! Can you guess whose idea this was?? They had a blast and when they were done, we found out that fun dip does not come off too easy. I think they remained different colors for a day or so!

21 weeks and 3 days
A little more than half way and you would never guess it. Most days I feel like I should be going directly to the hospital because I look like I should be ready to deliver. It is crazy how quickly my stomach has popped out. Guess it remembers where it was just a year ago! I keep reminding myself that this is all worth it. It is hard on the body but the gift you get in the end is worth all of the pain. I cannot believe that we will have four little ones. It seems like only yesterday Joey and I were getting married. Time sure flies when you are having fun and when you are so busy!
P.S- No worries, I wore a sweater over this not so modest shirt. Just took it off so we could get the full effect in the picture!

Harlee's special class
On Wednesday, Harlee went for her speech assessment. We learned that we are doing this at the perfect time because she is so excited about it. She asked all day what time she went to her class and insisted on bringing her backpack! She did everything that was asked of her and was so proud of herself. She did qualify for speech with a 66 out of 100. I go and meet with the speech therapist on the 17th to write up goals and then she gets started. She meets once a week for 20 minutes with the therapist and then we work with her at home. She thinks Harlee will need 1-2 years but with her only being 3, she will be good to go for Kindergarten.
A Great Report
On Wednesday night we had Luke's parent teacher conference. Due to a few incidents Luke has had this school year, I was a little nervous to go. As I walked in Mrs. Westover said "I am so excited to say that Luke is doing so great. It is like he is a different kid!" She went on to say that he is well above average. He is at a reading level 4 where most of the other students are at a 1. He is also at a 36 in his counting where the average is 12. He is a bright kid, we never worry about that. The behavior has caused a little concern but he has been acting so much better. We also see the difference at home. He is such a good boy and we are so proud of you Luke!!
MORE
Nash is just growing up to fast. He is all over the place and keeps us really busy. He especially loves the stairs and to take everything out of the cupboards. Needless to say, I do not get much done during the day! He can say Mama and Dada and "Ba" for ball. But the newest word is "More". It is so perfect that this would be his first real word. Nash is definitely our eater and loves almost everything you give him. He now says "More" whenever he would like something else to eat. It is the cutest thing.

Twins??

When Luke is at school, that is when Harlee is so herself. She loves to follow Luke and do whatever he wants to do, but when she is on her own she makes different choices for her fun. She loves to watch Fresh Beat Band. This is a show on Nick that has a lot of singing and dancing. Today I caught her doing the dances with them. It was so cute!! Then she asked me if she could wear pink. Then she got out my headband and had me do her hair down. She then insisted on putting on shoes because "Kiki" wears shoes. When we were done she said "I look like Kiki! Mom you can be Marina and Dad can be Twitch." She is so girly at times and I love it! I need to celebrate all of the girly moments since she will be my one and only girl!
