SNMC Christmas Party

Tonight was our annual branch Christmas party.  Just like years prior, it was at Rodizio Grill.  This place is not my favorite but Joey loves it which makes it easier to go.  The small group was even smaller this year as D.J's daughter had to go to the emergency room for an allergic reaction to an acai bowl.  So our small group was Michelle our underwriter and her husband, Jeff and Laura, Audra our corporate processor, and Joey and I.  The smaller group was nice as we could all chat as a group.  Even though it can be stressful at times, I am so grateful for my job.  It is such a blessing to be able to earn a good living while working from home.  This year I have begun to coordinate for D.J and Brad along with Jeff.  It has been such a blessing for our family and I have learned so much.

Best Surprise

Harlee was set to come home tomorrow and I was so excited.  I was sitting working this afternoon when a Life360 message came on the phone that Harlee was home.  I was so confused and then I heard the front door open.  Harlee really was home!!  I could not believe it.  I have missed her so much and it was the best surprise to get to have her home for one extra day for Christmas break.  Thanks so much Har for making my day!

Nash's latest art project

Nash is doing amazing in his AP art class.  His latest project needed to be completed on a unique surface.  Nash decided to do his artwork on a guitar that he got from a garage sale.  He based the project on the Luke Combs song "Take Me out to the Ballgame".  It is about a son that feels pulled between his parents that are divorced.  Nash painted the boy on the back of the guitar and his hands wrapped around the front and made the faces of the parents on the front of the guitar.  It is amazing!  I am so proud of Nash.  He works so hard and his projects keep getting better and better.  Way to go Nashie!

Early morning temple trip

We had to reschedule our previous appointment and really wanted to get to the temple in December.  So we were lucky to get an appointment at 6:30 am this morning.  The kids were not super excited about the time but we were happy to get to the temple for baptisms.  I was not feeling great so I just did the confirmation but the boys did baptisms.  It was such a wonderful morning.  After the baptisms we got to see the lighted Tree of Life which was so beautiful.  One of the blessings of getting up early!  We then went to Einstein's for the traditional breakfast.  I am so glad that Gray pushed us to make a goal to get to the temple.  There is nothing better than serving in the best place with my favorite people.

One year...

Today marks one year since Luke returned from his mission in New Jersey.  I cannot believe how fast this year has gone.  Luke has spent the year working full time and saving his money to move out.  He found a job at Orem High and moved to Provo.  He will be starting school in January.  I am so proud of how well he has set himself up for this next step.  He is doing amazing things.  So grateful for the opportunity that Luke had to serve a mission.  He grew so much and strengthened his relationship with his Savior.  Life changing for sure.  This is what he posted on his story today...

Luminaria

One of the things that I love about Luke and Morgan's relationship is that they are always doing fun things  They are not the sit around types.  Tonight they went with two other couples to Luminaria.  Luminaria is a holiday light show that you walk through at Thanksgiving Point.  There is one section that focuses on Christ and the Tree of Life.  They loved it.  And I love that Morgan is willing to send me cute pictures that they took.  What a fun experience for them.

Today Nash had his second game of the season.  The game started out a little rough and by halftime, they were down by about 15 points.  Over the second half, they were able to tie up the score.  It was amazing to watch.  There was about one minute left.  Nash got the ball and he effortlessly made a 3 point shot.  It was BEAUTIFUL!  They ended up winning the game by 3 points.  What an amazing moment to witness.  So proud of you Nash.  MVP for sure!

Junior Jazz

It's that time again!  Nash joined a junior jazz team.  This year, the only player he really knew was Luke Rollins.  The were not breaking us in slowly as his first game was at 9pm.  It was fun to watch him play again.  The game was a little rough and they ended up losing by 15 points.  I am sure it will get better over the season as they learn to play together.  Can't wait to watch the growth over the season.

My model husband...

I took a little break from working today to scroll through Facebook.  The scrolling stopped as I came upon a picture of someone that looks exactly like Joey.  The resemblance was crazy.  I sent it to Joey and asked him what other secrets he was keeping from me.  Turns out, I am not the only one in our relationship that has a twin. 

A scary morning...

This morning while I was working, I got a call from Skyridge High School. I am so glad that I answered.  It was the nurse calling to tell me that Gray had passed out in his health class and hit his face pretty hard on the desk.  I rushed over to the school and by the time I arrived, he was doing a lot better.  He told me that he had not eaten breakfast and they were talking about vasectomy's in health.  He said he remembers feeling sick as his teacher spoke descriptively about the process of snipping and burning.  That is the last thing he remembered before going down.  He said when he came to, he just remembers seeing everyone's shoes.  He stood up and said, well that was embarrassing!   So funny!  Some cute girls from his chemistry class, heard about his fainting episode and brought him so get well soon cookies!  So nice.  Hopefully this is a one time event.

And then there were five...

Luke has spent the last year working hard and saving his money.  He has prepared himself to be able to move out on his own.  He found room to rent in a house off of 700 east in Provo, close to BYU.  Today was the move out day!  It was such a mixture of feelings- I am so excited for him to be on his own and to be closer to work, school, and Morgan.  But I am also sad to not be able to see him everyday.  We got everything packed up and moved him down tonight.  The house he lives in is next door to a house I hung out at when I was at BYU.  Such a small world.  So proud of you Luke!
