Spring Break in SG

We got to SG super late Friday night but it was so nice to be able to sleep in on Saturday morning.  We had a great time even though the weather was pretty awful.  It even snowed on Tuesday.  The cold weather did not keep the kids out of the pool.  We heated it ad Tag swam for hours every day.  On Saturday we watched conference and got a few things done around the house.  Joey and I snuck away for a little lunch date.  We went to Mainly's pizza in Leeds for dinner and it was so good.  We decided to share the pizza and sent Luke and his comp a pizza in NJ.  He sent us a picture and made my night.  Sunday we had waffles and conference with a little swimming in between.  We had Joey's parents, Carson and Kylee, over for dinner.  We made tacos and Joey made some fantastic steak.  Monday and Tuesday were just relaxing for the kids while Joey and I worked. It was so nice to be in SG. We made it to Porkbelly's on Tuesday which was amazing.  On Wednesday the boys went to see the Mario movie and Harlee, Joey, and I went to lunch with John and Darolyne.  We picked up the boys and headed home to Lehi.  Love spending time with my family.

Tag's Birthday Celebration

The snow finally died down a little bit and we were able to finally do Tag's birthday celebration.  We left at 5pm and made it up to Soldier Hollow for tubing.  The sun was out and it was so much fun.  It was pretty icy which made for the fastest rides down.  Joey and I took the first ride down together and ran into the barriers.  The kids had a ton of fun.  This was the first year that Tag was good to go on his own.  He was so excited and had the best time.  We stopped at Dairy Keen for shakes and fries before heading home.  We are now on our way to SG to spend some of spring break there.  Cannot wait for a relaxing week.

Spending time with Uncle Jer

Jeremy stayed at our house last night and it has been super fun to spend the day with him. He came to Utah for his 20 year mission reunion. We went on a walk and then went to breakfast.  Since it was the last day of the term, I let Harlee, Nash, and Gray skip school.  They came with us to breakfast at Village Baker.  It was super good.  Then we went to Walmart so Jeremy could buy some presents for Cory's kids.  Then we went back home and had some time to chat.  I took him to the temple for sealings with his mission friends.  The visit wet way too fast but I always love any time I can spend with Jeremy.

Mimi's birthday dinner

Tonight we went to dinner at Los Hermanos to celebrate Mimi's birthday.  We kept it small so spouses were off the hook.  One of the best parts was that Jeremy came to town.  He is going to stay the night at our house tonight.  So fun to see him.  It was so fun to sit around and chat while enjoying amazing food.  Love my family.

Peace out Patty

Well we are all super surprised to find out that Elder Childs is getting transferred.  Luke thought that he would stay in Paterson for one more transfer.  But he is headed to Woodbridge.  His new companion will be Elder Church.  This week Luke got to go on an exchange with his bestie Elder Brewer.  He said that they did not get too much work done but spent the whole day chatting.  I love that he can have days that don't always have to be so serious.  The rest of the week was filled with teaching and starting to get ready to move.  He was given the opportunity to bear his testimony as he was leaving the ward.  He said that he did not mind being called out because he has felt so much growth in his testimony and he loves the opportunity to share that testimony.  Who is this kid?  I am so so proud of him.  Hopefully his move will go well ad hopefully he will like his new comp!  Lots of prayers!

Benson Boone

Joey and I offered to drive Harlee, Ari, and Nicci to the Benson Boone concert in St. George.  We left on Saturday at 9am and made it to SG around 12:30pm.  Our first stop was of course Porkbellys.  The food was amazing and it was so fun to chat with Har and her friends.  In true Joey fashion, he suggested we drive to Gunlock Falls.  Poor Ari had to hike in her slippers.  The falls were so beautiful.  We came home and the girls got ready for the concert.  We dropped them off at the concert at 6:30pm so they could meet up with Claire, Benson's sister, and give her the pants they made for her and Benson.  The girls loved the concert and said it was so good.  They also got to meet up with Papa Boone who totally remembered them and Benson's other sister.  They may have promised to make all of them pants for the next concert in June. Benson sent them a video thanking them for the pants- they were dying! We woke up at 5:45am to drive back to Lehi so we could make it to church.  I am so glad that we could help make this happen for them.  They are the best girls and I love that they get to make these amazing memories.

Our baby is 11!

Where has the time gone?  I seriously cannot believe that Tag is 11 years old.  We couldn't be more blessed to have him in our family.  He is the best teacher of honesty, kindness, and unconditional love.  We celebrated Tag today with pizza from the Pie that he did not eat, presents, and cake with green frosting that he did eat!  Tag got a nintendo 3 DS with a few games he wanted, some pickle ball racquets, and a couple new shirts.  He was most excited about the 3 DS.  We were all excited that Luke was able to call and chat for a few minutes. We are going to go tubing at Soldier Hollow tomorrow to continue the celebration.  Happy Birthday Tag.  Thanks for being the most amazing caboose to our family.

5th Grade Hope of America

This year, Traverse Mountain Elementary chose to do a patriotic program instead of participating in the big Hope of America.  I was totally ok with this decision.  Marcae and I went together to watch the boys.  When I showed up, instead of Tag wearing the nice Hollister white hoodie, he was just wearing his white undershirt.  So funny!  Love his confidence.  Tag did an amazing job.  He knew all of the words and the actions to each song.  The night before his program I let him know that I was going to come watch him.  He said "Mom, are you going to cry?"  I let him know that I did not plan on crying.  He then said "If you cry it would be so embarrassing!" I love his honesty.  I can say gratefully that not a tear was shed and hopefully Tag's embarrassment was spared.  So proud of you Tag!

Another week in the books...

This week was a big one for Elder Childs!  He had his first baptism.  Bunny was baptized on Wednesday and Luke was able to confirm her a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  What an amazing experience.  Minus the fact that she did not have a baptismal suit that fit and they had to baptize her in the sacrament table cloth, it went off without a hitch.  She had more than 20 friends show up to support her.  What a beautiful day.  The rest of his week was good.  He is living it up in Patterson and changing lives.  So proud of our sweet missionary.  I live for his emails and calls every week.
