Mom- Can I do a Cannyball?

Laundry is such a job when you have five kids! Yesterday I had washed a ton of clothes and decided to tackle the folding/putting away today. I grabbed as much as my arms could hold and put them on the floor to fold. Gray ran over and asked "Mom, can I do a cannyball?". So funny! I love that he thinks of these things. What a way to make laundry fun! So he cannyballed a few times and then offered to help me fold the clothes. I love that I have some one on one time with him each day. Thanks Gray for making laundry fun!

Plant Day

Today Harlee had her special Plant Day at school. I was able to get a sitter so I could go enjoy a little one on one time with my favorite girl! She first showed me a few projects that she had done. She talked about her summer trip to St. George when her dad is going to fly back on the weekends and she is going to swim! Then we went back into the room and she showed me her plant troll. Then we followed directions to my some yummy dirt pudding! Finally we sang some songs about plants. I love to watch Harlee in her element. She has so many friends and is such a sweet example to everyone around her.

Since these books are for my kids I feel that I should share an experience that I had last weekend. Joey and I were fortunate to get to go to the temple in the early morning. I had been struggling with worry for our little Tag. I have been quite consumed. I just want him to have the opportunity to live a full life and accomplish all that he desires. So before we left for the temple I prayed that I would know what if anything is wrong and how I could be the best mom for him. As I sat down for the session I tried to think about the worst case scenario that has been suggested by a few people. It was the most amazing thing. I could not even think about it. My mind would not let me go there. Instead the words from the blessing that Joey gave me weeks prior filled my mind and my heart- "He will continue to get stronger both socially and emotionally". My poor Heavenly Father probably gets so frustrated with me. He knows He has told me it will all be ok on several occasions and now it is my turn to have faith. As I was listening to a conference talk this morning it talked about having a stupor of thought if it is not true. I was once again reminded of my experience in the temple. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father that answers my prayers. He knows my heart, He knows my worries. I know that if I have faith in Him everything will work out for the best.

Teddy Bear Picnic

Today Gray had his teddy bear picnic at school. He did not want to take a teddy bear so he took his monkey pillow pet. I asked him what he did and he said nothing. He did go on though to say that he ate outside but could not remember what they ate. Must have been a great time! I love that he gets to have all these fun experiences at preschool!

Utah County Fair

After all the projects and the hard work, Luke was able to showcase all that he learned about Piute County. All of the fourth graders set up their projects in the cafeteria and we were able to walk around and look at all that they had accomplished. Luke had memorized many facts to share and learned so much in his studies of Piute County. So proud of you Luke! You really did a great job!

Mother's Day 2014

What a wonderful day! I truly blessed to be a mom! My day started with lots of fun presents from the kids and Joey. Harlee got me breakfast in a bag- my favorite poppy seed muffin. She also made me a book called "I love my Mom". In it she says: My mom is special because she loves my famle. I love it when my mom helps me with my homework. To relax my mom likes to wach tv. I wish I could buy my mom parfume. It bugs my mom when I say the same thing over and over. My mom's favorite song is Let it Go. She sings like a nothing? When my mom is driving she turns on a movie and me and my brothers say turn it off! My mom's favorite tv show is The Voice. I love it when my mom cooks chicken rice and cheese. Mom: nice, happy, running, dancing, jumping, loving, busy So so sweet! Luke made me some flowers in a pot and made me a card. Such a good boy. They bought me three really nice shirts and a couple of bracelets. Needless to say I was a little spoiled. Truthfully, I did not need anything- the five of them are my eternal gifts. I am blessed beyond words to be able to be their mom. They each bring something unique and special into my life and they make me want to be better. I am so grateful for my five crazy kids and I do not know what I did to deserve them.

Annual Father and Sons

It is no secret that Joey is not a big fan of the structured Father and Sons ward camp-out, especially this year when it was raining! So Joey opted to take Gray, Luke, and Nash to see the Amazing Spiderman 2! Joey said that Luke and Nash did not move throughout the whole 2.5 hour movie. Gray was a different story- he could not sit still. He even was doing headstands on the chair at one point! I was so glad to be home enjoying some girl time with Harlee. We went and got Costa Vida for dinner and then watched A Cinderella Story. Tag was so good to hand out with us girls. I love these special moments! Even if they are not camping, I am so grateful that Joey takes the time to spend a few hours with his boys. I also love that it gives me some time with my favorite girl! *Luke said that he wanted to wear a hat to the movies so Gray and Nash had to find hats too! So cute!

Nash's Mother's Day Brunch

Today was a special Mother's Day Brunch put on my Nash's preschool class. I just love his teacher and all the kindness and etiquette she has taught them over this year. When we arrived our student was instructed to come escort us to our seat. On the table in front of our chair was a picture that they had drawn for our place mat. Then they served us mini muffins and a drink. We got to eat and chat! So fun to spend some one on one time with Nash. Then they did a program for us that consisted of a poem and two songs: Bushel and a Peck and You are my Sunshine. It was so cute. After the program they gave us our gift. A cute purse full of special things including a key chain with his fingerprint. Nash also filled out a questionnaire about his Mom. He said that I am very sweet, 40 inches tall, and 50 lbs! What a special afternoon with my special Nash. I am one blessed mom!

Terrible Tri-fold Night

Yesterday was a very long day. It started with a flood in the basement and most of the afternoon spent at dress rehearsal for dance. I was exhausted. I finally got Tag to bed a little after 9:30pm. Then I washed my face and came down to close down the house for the night. At 10:10pm Luke came downstairs and asked if he could use a box for his tri-fold. What?? He had a tri-fold poster due the next day for his Utah county project he had been working on. I was a little upset, to say the least. I admit to not handling it well but I was exhausted. After I calmed down we went to work. Joey helped us print out pictures and it turned out great. By 11:30pm we were done and Luke was pleased with the outcome. I so hope that we never have to go through the last minute big projects but I think that is wishful thinking! At least he remembered the night before and not in the morning! It could have been worse!!

Gray's Mother's Day Gift

On Thursday Gray brought me home my Mother's Day present. I LOVE IT! He gave me a cute plant with a picture of him and then he gave me a card. He guessed that I was 9 years old and that I weighed 29 lbs (pretty accurate!) He said that my job was making cakes and that I his favorite meal I make is peanut butter sandwiches. So cute! I love these little glimpses into the mind of my three year old. What a sweet boy and what a beautiful gift!

Six cavities

Six cavities is what you really hope you never hear from the dentist. This was the sad news I heard when I took the kids for their 6 month checkup. Since Gray is so little, the suggested we had him put completely under with anesthesia so that they could complete the work and he would not be afraid. They also decided to clip his tongue again since it had seemed to reattach. So Monday morning we went to the dentist at 10am. They came out and gave him a shot. Within a minute he was asleep with his eyes open. Less than an hour and $400 later, he was done. It took him a long time to wake up but by 3pm, he was running around like nothing happened. What a champ! I am really hoping that we do not have to go through this with him ever again.
