Princess Ball

Harlee came home last night begging Joey to take her to the Princess Ball at the elementary school. Joey was not too excited about the event. I told Harlee that even on our wedding day her dad would not dance with me. So Joey decided to take her out on a daddy/daughter date. They went to Wendy's, Harlee's choice, and got to eat inside!! Then they went shopping. What more could a girl ask for? So grateful that Harlee is blessed with a dad who loves her!

Still quiet but not as much...

Our quiet guy is starting to talk and we could not be more excited. I am sure that I have mentioned it before that Tag is working with the therapists from Kids on the Move. He was just recently tested and is now only classified as having a mild delay! He is progressing so much and we are so proud of him. He is up to over 20 words that he says. His most recent words are "uh-oh" (whenever he says this he claps for himself- so cute), cracker, kick, and cookie! He is such a big boy and we love him so much! *I love this picture- he kept putting Harlee's princess necklace on. More blackmail!!

Lehi Pool Day

Monday was President's Day and we are still without our car. So Joey stayed home with Tag and I took the four oldest to the indoor Lehi pool. Aside from one slip and a bloody nose, they had so much fun. I put life jackets on Nash and Gray and they all just swam. I did not even have to get in the water. They are at such fun ages. They play together, watch out for each other, and have the best time. So thankful for days off and the time to make great memories as a family. Love these guys.

True Coordination

This morning I put Tag in his seat at the table to feed him a little breakfast. After finishing his applesauce he moved onto his fruit loops. He found a nearby sucker on the table and put it to good use. He started putting the sucker stick through the fruit loop and using that to get it to his mouth. So clever! Love watching this little guy grow up and do new things. He is so smart! Easy as 1-2-3!

My Valentine

After 12 years I am still so excited to call this guy my Valentine. I could not have picked a better one! He truly makes me want to be a better person- someone more deserving of him. He works so hard for our family and is such a great example to all of us. If only he would be a little more excited to take pictures for my blog posts... We went out on a little date yesterday and the two attempts with his scowl were unsuccessful. I tried again today and as you can see he was less than willing! So I told him I would post a picture of him by himself! Maybe this will teach him! Still so handsome even when he is sleeping. Sure love this guy!

Day O' Love

What a great day to celebrate all the love that I have in my life. I am such a blessed lady. The day started bright and early at 6:30am when the kids could not wait any longer to go downstairs and see what they got! Since when did Valentine's Day become like Christmas morning?? The older kids got rainbow looms, shirts, and treats. Gray got a shirt, some new cars, and treats. Cute Tag got a new shirt, bubbles, and some treats. Joey and I exchanged cards and candy. His card did not disappoint! He may not say how he feels all the time but he is so good to let me know in his cards. I truly treasure them. We enjoyed heart shaped pizza for dinner followed by some pink cake. I am so grateful for all the love in my life and for a special day to celebrate it!

Luke's basketball

On Saturday Luke played his last game of the season. He has become quite the amazing basketball player. It is so fun to watch him play. He is really good at all aspects of the game but is especially good at shooting. Love the satisfaction on his face each time he makes a basket. So proud of how hard Luke works to get better and better at each sport. Cannot wait until the next basketball season.

Brainiacs!!

So it is official- all of the Childs kiddos were blessed to get their father's intellect! We just went to parent teacher conference and they all received such compliments from their teachers. The first conference was for Luke. He was so nervous, like he always is, but once we started talking with his teacher, he realized there was no reason to be worried. His teacher, Mrs. Rhode, spoke of all the wonderful things that Luke does. She said that he has been tagged in the system as gifted and excels with every new thing he learns. Then we went to Harlee's conference. Her teacher, Mrs. Christensen, praised Harlee. She is testing above where she needs to be and has become a great reader. Harlee is always willing to help and is such a good student. Finally we went and talked with Nash's teacher, Mrs. Cheri. She could not say enough about Nash. He was given a test where the average is 8. Our Nash got 20 out of 20! He was also invited to be in her special reading club! So proud of these kids. They work so hard and I love to hear what wonderful students they are.

A Day in the Life....

This picture seemed to define the day that I had. So I was so worried about the car because it smelled like something burning and it was not getting better. So I worryingly went through my day taking care of the kids and cleaning up as they made messes. So I ran upstairs to do Nash's hair for school, only to find that Tag had turned on the bath water who knows how long ago. It was about one inch from over flowing! So lucky for that timing but still cannot take my eyes off him for a second. So then I was flustered as I came downstairs to Gray crying. He said "Mom I won't use that potty again!" I looked in the bathroom to see poop water overflowing out of the toilet onto the floor. I could not get it to stop. Seriously!! What a crappy (literally)event to add to my day. Thankfully not all days are like this and all the sweet moments with the kids far outweigh the not so good moments. I just wanted to write about this so when my kids are parents they can realize that it is not always easy but it is worth it! Fun mom day!!

Childs Band

After running this morning I came into the game room to see these two jammin out! Nash told me that they were playing Macklemore songs. I love Monday's when Nash does not have school. These two are best buds and they have so much fun together. I cannot wait to see what they come up with next. Love their sideways hats! So hip!

Belated Anniversary

For Christmas KC gave us what I hope is the first annual gift of a night away at Zermatt. He and Brenna offered to come watch the kids so we could enjoy a kid free night away. We left around 4:30pm and went to Chili's for dinner. Then after a stop at Dairy Keen for shakes, we made our way to Zermatt. We spent the night relaxing in our pjs and enjoying each other's company. I feel so lucky to love him even more after 12 years than the day we got married. He is truly my best friend and I feel so blessed to be his wife.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
