Tag's Throne

I think I need to end the phrase "Tag is the best baby" with "..if he is being held." Tag is so good if you are holding him but really does not love to just hang out. I am thinking that he should have came first to the Childs family if he wanted all that attention! My friend Erika gave me a boppy pillow cover and I stuffed it to make a pillow. Tag really likes it. He is up a little higher and can see a little more. Maybe we are moving in the right direction and I will be able to get a few more things done. *I love this picture. It is rare you catch the few and far between smiles on camera! I think he is excited about his new pillow!

Harlee's Dance Recital

Tap Dance Crocodile Rock
Jazz Dance Surfin USA I know that Harlee shares the dance recital with me but she did so great, she deserves her own post! I LOVE to watch Harlee dance. I always dreamed of having a little girl who enjoyed doing what I love and now it is coming true. Harlee did a wonderful job. Her dances this year were so cute. Her tap dance was to Crocodile Rock and her jazz was to Surfin USA. I loved them both but my favorite was Surfin USA. She is such a great performer and I loved being able to share this day with her.

Dance Depot Recital 2012

Saturday was the big dance recital. This year the theme was Dance is... I always have a love/hate relationship with this annual event. I hate the stress- worrying that all the hard work will be executed on the stage. But I always LOVE it when it is over. So nice to see the weeks of work pay off. This year my class did two jazz dances: Fever and Someone Like You. They also did a tap number to In the Mood. This was by far my favorite dance. The girls in my tap class try hard and their dance looked really good. I am grateful that Joey supports me in still doing what I love. I think that next year will probably be my last year due to the crazy lives of five children but I have really enjoyed it over these last 8 years.

Wearing Yellow

Luke did it! He passed his karate test and is now a yellow belt. He did amazing. I had no idea how much he was learning. As I sat there watching his test I was so worried that he would not know how to do the things that were asked of him. Boy was I wrong. Luke is very good at karate. I was so so proud. He not only earned his yellow belt but got the highest score of anyone testing. It is so fun to watch him progress and really enjoy what he is learning. So proud of you Luke! *This picture shows Luke getting ready to receive a punch in the stomach from his teacher. This is what they do when they move up in rank!

She really LOVES him

Tag is one lucky boy to be surrounded by so many siblings. But I must admit that I think his only sister shows him the most attention. She is the one that wakes up, puts on hand sanitizer and makes her way to Tag. She loves to hold him and is almost always willing to do anything to help him. She cannot keep her hands off him or her lips off his head. She is a great big sister and I am sure Tag knows how lucky he is!

Soccer Season

Spring soccer season is coming to an end. I will miss watching the kids play but I will enjoy free Saturdays! Luke has gotten so good. His coach says that he has the best kicks! They often keep him on defense so that the other team hardly has a chance to score. Harlee is also really good. Her coach says that she has the best ball control. She has scored about 5 goals this season. She made two goals in her last game. My favorite was when the opposing team was not looking she slowly went around them with the ball and got it in the goal. I have really loved watching them progress and get so much better at the game. We have two great athletes on our hands! Cannot wait to see what the other three boys will do as they grow up.

Moms and Muffins

Friday was a special day at Harlee's preschool. They invited all the Moms to come and have muffins with them. They had prepared a special program to honor their Moms. It was the sweetest thing. They all sang a song about moms and then recited a super cute poem. At the end they gave each of us a lay and then a present. The present was a homemade frame with buttons all around it. At the bottom it said "Cute as a button." In the frame was a picture of Harlee in a graduation cap and gown. Too cute! How lucky am I to get to love this girl? She brings me such joy and I feel completely grateful to be her Mom!

Our CRAZY Boy

Gray is such a funny kid. He is always making us laugh and we wonder what he will do next. He loves to make silly faces and do anything for a reaction. Lately he has been getting up in the night to play toys. We will hear a noise that wakes us up and it is Gray playing. He is so funny and we just LOVE his personality. We are grateful to Gray who helps keep things lighter in the Childs home!

Tag's New Chair

It is tough being the fifth kid and the fourth boy. I have to be honest and say that he rarely gets anything new. We have so many clothes and necessities from the first three boys that have made their way down to Tag. Well Tag is starting to wake up more and I am wondering what to do with him. So Joey stopped on a lunch break and bought him a vibrating chair. Not too sure how he feels about it yet but my arms are thanking him. Tag does not love to lay down and it is hard to do things while always holding him. So hopefully this new chair will make us both happy!
*Tag is giving the chair four stars! Love the crazy things they do with their hands.

Luke's Karate Tournament

Luke has been preparing for weeks for his upcoming karate tournament. He wanted to enter the "kata" competition. This is a choreographed form that they practice and have to repeat perfectly. Luke was so nervous and excited. He had to be there at 9am so our boy who loves his sleep woke up at 6:30 am wanting to get in his uniform. The time could not go any faster but soon it was time to go. In his division there were 12 kids. Jordan, his instructor, explained that the top 3 scores would get trophies. Luke got third place with a score of 17.4 out of twenty. Riley got 2nd place with 17.5. He did so good and we are so proud of him.

Six Weeks and still loving him!

I cannot believe that it has been six weeks already. Time sure flies when you are happy and TIRED! Tag truly is a great baby. He is still sleeping a ton. We went through some difficulties with him formula but I think we have figured it out. Besides being upset because his tummy was hurting, he really is a happy baby. We are LOVING him and so grateful he came to our family.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
