Dream Tradition

Joey and I arranged to take some time off today and we went to Sand Hollow to bring back the boat tradition of last year.  We decided to rent the boat for half the day and it was amazing.  The only complaint would be that the boat was a little slow but other than that it was perfect.  We spent the first few hours tubing and having the best time.  There is seriously nothing better than seeing the expressions of pure joy as I watch the kids hold on tight to the tube.  The second half of the day we attempted to knee board.  We had bought a knee board off KSL.  I had no idea how difficult this would be but we all had so much fun trying.  I am so grateful for this family time.  It is seriously a dream to be on the water surrounded by my favorite people.  We decided that since the boat was not as fast as the last time, we are going to rent a boat again in August.  I can't wait!  Maybe we could think about buying a boat?

Scary night/ Scary morning

This morning I woke up to so many missed texts and calls.  The first one I read was from Hailee and she said "Are you ok? Let me know if you need a place to stay.".  I was so confused.  I tried to call Joey but he did not answer.  So I called my neighbor Cami who had called after midnight.  She let me know that there was a fire on Traverse Mountain.  I was so worried.  Turns out Joey and Luke were evacuated and he never called or texted me.  Seriously?  Joey knew that there was nothing I could do from St. George so why get me all worried.  Some teenagers were setting off fireworks which was the cause of this fire.  The fire was right behind the Canyon Hills neighborhood.  The firefighters did an amazing job and they were able to save all the homes.  I love have the mountain as our backyard but in times like this I am a little scared about that.  I am just so thankful that this fire turned out the way that it did.  Such a blessing!

Going down to our favorite place

On Friday morning we left at 5:30 am to get down to St George.  I decided to go with the four littles.  Luke had to work on Saturday so Joey and Luke will be coming on Sunday.  We got to St. George around 9:30 am and by 10 am the kids were in the pool and I was working.  It was so nice for them to have something to do while I worked.  For dinner that night we grabbed food to go and just enjoyed a night together.  We woke up early on Saturday and went to some garage sales.  Tag was so excited because he found a sick Vans wallet!  After a few sales we took advantage of the cool morning and went to a fun park.  After a few minutes there we had the place to ourselves.  We then went home and literally spent the rest of the morning and afternoon in the pool.  It was so much fun.  We relaxed on our new floaties and listened to music on our speaker.  It was so much fun to swim and play with the kids.  We all went to bed pretty early, tired from the sun.  We are so excited for Joey and Luke to get here tomorrow.

Nash's Turn

Today was Nash's turn for his lunch date!  We dropped Tag off at therapy and went to do some school shopping.  We started at TJ Max but did not have very much luck.  He was able to find one pair of shorts.  Then we went across the street to Ross and hit the mother load.  We were able to get all of his school shopping done including his shoes!  Good day!  After our shopping we went to Nash's choice of In and Out for lunch.  It was so nice to have some time to chat with him and catch up on his life.  I love this one on one time with each of my kiddos.  I am a blessed mom!  Next up.... Gray!

Harlee's New Bed

For the last few months Harlee has been talking about how she wants a platform bed.  She spends so much time on Pinterest getting ideas.  Joey found one on Overstock and it arrived today.  It looks so good.  I love her style!  We just need to get rid of the pink ceiling and then her room will be perfect in her eyes.

Celebrating one of the greats

Today is Father's Day, a day to celebrate one of the greatest men I know.  I sure hit the jackpot when I married Joey.  He is such an amazing partner and he makes life so fun.  He is such a perfect dad to our five kids.  He is never one to sit around and he gets us out trying all sorts of new things.  He is always telling Dad jokes and sending funny meme texts to Luke and Harlee.  He sings songs about everything and laughs the hardest at his own jokes.  He has a tender testimony and is always willing to bless us with his priesthood.  He works harder than anyone I know and he would do anything to make us happy.  He deserves a day to be celebrated and I hope he never doubts how much he is loved. Happy Father's Day J.D.  We all love you so much!

Mom Dates

Tag started back at ABI today and he is so excited.  He goes on Thursday's from 11-1pm.  Rather than going home for an hour before coming back to get him, I decided to start Mom dates.  Harlee got the first one!  We dropped Tag off and then went to La Hacienda for some lunch.  We chatted while we enjoyed some yummy Mexican food.  Then we went to Downeast and TJ Max.  Harlee got a new swimsuit and a new sweater.  It was so fun to spend some one on one time with her.  She is such an amazing daughter and I want to soak up every minute that she still likes to hang out with me.  Loved our time together today.

Friday Fun

Work for me has been insane for me but I need to make time for a little fun!  We asked Mindi if we could come join her for a swim and we decided to grab lunch on our way.  It was so nice to spend some time in the sun.  Mindi got out the corn hole game and we had so much fun.  I am so grateful that she brings the fun to the party.  So nice to take a break and spend quality time with my favorite peeps.

Week of Firsts

So Luke didn't waste anytime.  He got his license yesterday and he started his first job today!  So proud and so excited!  He is working at Cubby's.  He is starting at $8.50 per hour for the first 4 shifts and then he moves to $9.50 per hour.  He is going to work 10-15 hours per week.  He is growing up too fast!  I am so grateful for the example he is to his younger siblings. Good luck Luke you are going to be such an asset to the Cubby's team and don't worry, I will be tracking you as you drive to work.

He's Legit

Due to COVID everything got a little pushed back.  We had always thought he would get his license on his birthday but that did not happen.  Thankfully we were able to get his road done with a private company.  He finished road yesterday and he had his test this morning.  Minus forgetting his permit and the forgetting to put the car in drive after he did the backing straight part of the test,  he passed!  I was so excite for him.  We called the DMV in Draper and they were not able to get him in until the next week to get his license.  I called the Orem office and he was able to get in that day.  He was so excited!  I am so proud of him.  Congrats Luke- the first one of our kiddos to be licensed.  Here's to many trips to the store and picking up his siblings.

Tag's After Party

After the baptism we invited everyone over to our house for an open house.  Joey, the amazing party host, had prepared all of the food.  He bought chafing dishes so we could do hot meat options for sandwiches and fries.  He bought all different sauces for the chicken and then fry sauce for the three different options of fries.  We had a lot of people come over and I was so excited.  We even had a surprise visit from Tara, Nathan, Kayden, and Suzie.  It was so fun to visit with everyone and celebrate Tag's special day.
