First Swim Meet of the Summer

This morning we woke up bright and early to go to the Cottonwood Swim Meet.  We stopped at McDonald's for a little fuel for their swimming and then we were on our way.  They both swam the same 3 strokes: 50 Back, 50 Fly, and 50 Free.  They did amazingly!  They both cut time on their 50 back- Gray got 47:33 and Nash got 45:85.  They swam the butterfly next-  Nash got 51 seconds and Gray got 1:00.   The last stroke that they swam was 50 free.  Nash got 38:55 and Gray got 43:55 which was 6 seconds faster than his best.  So proud of these little fish.  They are such strong swimmers and I am so proud of them.  They go to practice 5 days a week and their hard work is definitely paying off.

Early Father's Day Gift

We decided that this year for Father's Day we would do a little service to show Joey how much he is loved.  He is always working so hard in the yard and it is so not my thing.  So this was truly a labor of love!  We decided to weed the front yard, plant some new flowers, and then lay down some new mulch.  After three trips to Home Depot and about 5 hours of work we finished.  I was so proud of all of the kids.  They worked so hard without complaint.  They could not wait for Joey to come home and to see the surprise.  I have to say that it looks pretty amazing and it is one thing that Joey can cross of his to do list.  Happy Early Father's Day to the best man I know!

Scout Day Camp

Today Gray had the opportunity to go to scout camp.  They went to camp Jeremiah Johnson.  He has such a fun group of scouts filled with all of his friends that he has grown up with.  He had a great time.  He said that they did archery, slingshots, and learned how to build a tent.  He said his favorite thing was they got to build rockets and launch them.  He said one that he launched went super high.  So grateful that Gray gets to go have these fun experiences surrounded by great friends.

Secret Life of Pets

While Luke was away at Lagoon, Harlee invited her friend Aubrey and we all went to see Secret Life of Pets 2.  We went to the Luxury theaters and we all enjoyed the movie with our feet up.  We enjoyed the movie with popcorn and maybe a little nap by me.  I love that the kids are all a little older and can actually sit through a whole movie.  It was a nice cool activity to enjoy when it was super hot outside.  Super fun day!

Lagoon Day

This year was a party year for Luke.  When you are 15 you really don't care to spend the day at Airborne.  So I asked Luke if he would want to go to Lagoon with his friends.  So we paid for Luke and his four closest friends to go to Lagoon.  The group consisted of Tyson Hyde, Caleb Kindred, Garret Palmer, P.J Hekking, and Luke.  I took them to the front runner in Lehi and they rode that to Lagoon.  The park was not too crowded and they were able to get on everything that they wanted to.  They even rode Cannibal 5 times.  They decided to leave the park at dinner time and ride the bus to Chick Fila for dinner.  Then they got on the front runner and they were home around 7:30 pm.  They were exhausted but had the best time.  I am so grateful for these boys.  They all are such good friends and have the best time together. 

She's back!

Harlee survived her first Girl's Camp and I was so excited to have her home.  Joey and I went up last night for Bishopric night and we ended up bringing Harlee home with us.  I could just tell she was exhausted from many late nights and was done.  It was so nice for her to shower and sleep in her own bed.  She actually slept in until almost 11am.  I was so grateful for all of the friends that sent me pictures of her.  I am so grateful for the opportunity she had to focus on the Savior all week and to strengthen her testimony as she focused on "Looking Up".

First Time on the Real Road

Now that Luke has a permit there is no excuse as to why he cannot start really learning how to drive.  I have to admit that I am a little terrified.  I faced my fears tonight and took Luke out for the first real time.  We started at the church where he could practice a few minutes before venturing out on the road.  We left the church parking lot and he drove us home.  Besides the super wide turn that might have caused me to gasp a little bit he did a great job.  Here's hoping that by the time Luke is 16 he will be well practiced and ready to go. 

Luke is 15!

How did this happen?  I can seriously remember the day he was born like it was yesterday.  It is so crazy that he is 15.  He is going next week with four of his friends to Lagoon so the celebration was low key.  We went to Chili's for dinner and then came home for some presents.  Luke got a few new shirts, a new hat, a XBox gift card, and some money.  We then had an ice cream cake from Cold Stone.  It was so funny-Luke stretched out and then spun to blow out his candles.  The spin was enough to put the candles out.  We were laughing to hard.  Such a fun night celebrating our first born.  So grateful for Luke in our family.  He is such a great example to his younger siblings and he is also keeping us laughing with his quick wit.  Happy Birthday Lukie- hope this is the best year yet.

First Pool Day of the summer

I love that we have a community pool.  I love that we can take a couple of hours and go enjoy it.  Today I decided to take the three littles to the pool.  The weather was perfect and the had a great time!  After a couple of hours, we left and went to swig for a little treat.  I look forward to having many more pool days this summer.

He did it!

This morning  we went to the DMV for Luke to take his permit test.  He was super nervous, especially when the man behind the counter was a little shocked that Luke did not study from the book but used the app instead.  He told Luke that he had two tries today.  I sat in a chair right outside of the testing area and after Luke's first try he looked at me and said he failed.  I felt so nervous for him.  He sat down to have his second try and the prayers started!  I knew how much he wanted this and more importantly, he did not want to have to tell his friends that he had failed.  After what felt like an eternity, Luke stood up and smiled.  He passed!  He had missed 16 his first try and only four on his second.  I was so excited for him.  Now starts a year of fear as we help him learn how to drive!  Now the prayers need to start for Joey and I!

Girl's Camp

This morning Harlee left for her first Girl's Camp.  It is a stake camp this year and they are going to Heber Valley.  I am so excited for Harlee to have this experience.  I hope that she has an amazing time with her friends while she strengthens her testimony of the Savior.  Boy am I going to miss her!
