Top Golfin on Labor Day

I love holidays when we can take a break from the busyness of work and school and spend some time together as a family.  Even though Joey and I were fighting bad colds, we decided to take the kids to Top Golf.  Jamie and Mindi gave us a giftcard for Christmas and it was a perfect day to use it.  What a fun place!  We all took turns hitting five balls at a time.  It is amazing to me to watch the kids all try something new and be amazing at it.  They all could hit the ball quite far and scored a lot of points.  Speaking of hitting the ball far, Joey did amazing!  He could hit the ball all the way to the end of the golf course which such power!  I should not be shocked however because Joey is seriously great at everything!  Looks like our kids are taking after him!  We enjoyed a yummy lunch and some really fun time together.  Hopefully we can go back again some time!

Lagoon

The summer was crazy and we could not find any time to squeeze in our annual trip to Lagoon.  We decided that we would celebrate by ending the first week of school at Lagoon.  It was a beautiful day and the park was not too crowded.  We decided to start at Cannible- I took Gray and Luke on it first and then Joey went with Gray and Luke. Our other three kiddos do not love the roller coasters so they spent time on the bumper cars, tiltawhirl, and a few other rides.  After a few more rides we grabbed a quick and expensive lunch before heading over to the other side of the park.  We split up so everyone could go on something they would enjoy then we went together on Bombora.  Tag was so nervous but ended up saying it was his favorite.  We ended the day with the Log Ride and the Old rollercoaster.  Such a fun day to spend as a family and we are all going to sleep great tonight!

First Day of School 2018-2019

The big day is here!  Everyone is starting school and will be in school all day!  What will I do with a quiet house?  The kids were all excited and looked amazing in their new school clothes.  Luke is starting 9th grade and high school.  Harlee and Nash are starting at the new charter school Ignite.  Gray and Tag will be going to Traverse Mountain.  I cannot believe Tag is going to mainstream school!  This is a day we have been hoping for.  It is going to be a great year!  So proud of these kids and their desire to learn.

Back to School Blessings

I cannot believe how fast the summer went!  It is crazy to be doing the back to school blessings already.  Time is seriously speeding up.  I love this time when I can listen to the man I love be the mouthpiece for Heavenly Father.  I love to hear what He has to say to each one of my blessings.  Here are some of the highlights:

Luke- He was blessed with peace and calmness.  Blessed to find joy in what he is learing.  He was told to be an example to his friend that they might feel safe around him.  Advised to strengthen his relationship with the Savior.  He was told to study the scriptures and know that Heavenly Father loves him and is aware of him.  His teachers would be blessed and able to teach him in a way that he would understand.  He was reminded to say his prayers.

Tag- Blessed to know that Heavenly Father is aware of him and the struggles he has as well as his amazing attributes.  He was blessed to love his teacher and feel comfortable with her.  He was blessed to make new friends.  He was told to go to his siblings for help when he needs it.  He was told that he would be surrounded by many new friends.  He was blessed to be able to learn new things.  He was told to know that his mom, and dad, and brothers, and sister love him so much and his Heavenly Father and Jesus love him too.

Harlee- Blessed to be open to learning a new way with a new curriculium.  Continue to be a kind soul- reaching out to those who are needing friends.  Blessed to make many new friends.  She is a chosen daughter who was sent here at this specific time.  She was told to look out for her younger brothers and be the one that they want to go to when they are feeling sad.  So proud to know you and be blessed by your goodness.  Know that Heavenly Father loves you as do your mom and dad.  Study the scriptures.

Nash- He was blessed to understand the new curriculum and way of learning.  He was blessed to excel in the new things that he learns.  Bless you to be a good friend and to reach out to those who may not have as many friends as you do.  Blessed to feel comfortable at his new school and to feel comfortable around his teachers.  He is belssed by his hard work and gentle soul.  Strengthen your knowledge of the gospel and your desire to pray.  Know that we are so blessed to have you in our family and love you very much.

Gray-  Blessed to feel comfortable around his teacher.  Bless you to make new friends that you will enjoy being around in your classroom. Continue to be a special brother to Tag.  Look out for him and be a strength for him if he is struggling.  Blessed to continue having an open mind and quick understanding of what you are being taught.  Have a desire to study the scriptures.  Know that Heavenly Father loves you and your family loves you.  Continue to be kind and good and know that you are such a blessing to our family.

Bryce Canyon

T

This outing is deserving of it's own post.  During our time in St. George we decided to take a day and go visit Bryce Canyon.  The kids were not too excited about the 2 hour drive there but let me say without any hesitation it was so worth it!  What a beautiful place!  I cannot believe we haven't been here before.  We decided to do a hike called the Navajo Loop.  The first half was all down hil and we were all having an amazing time.  It was a little hot but no one seemed to mind.  We were surrounded by beautiful red rock formations.  We hiked down into the mountain and it was breathtaking.  The second half of the hike brought a little less enthusiasm.  I should have thought that as we were going down that at some point we would need to go back up!  The switch backs were endless and a little bit harder on some than others.  I think everyone was so happy when we finished and could go back to sitting in the car.  Even with the uphill I would not change the experience.  We can do hard things!  So proud of our kids who completed the hike even though it was not easy.  I love that we can experience Heavenly Father's beautiful creations together.  *Might be photo overload! The kids must have felt the peace and serenity of Bryce Canyon sparking all the yoga poses!
