Five year old check up

This is a day I have been dreading. I was not sure that Tag would take the idea of immunizations very well.  I decided not to tell him.  He knew we were going to the doctor and he was pretty good about it.  He was weighed, measured, refused the eye test, blood pressure, and then we waited for the doctor.  He weighed 53 lbs and is 45 inches tall.  This meant he is in the 90% for weight and 95% for height.  The doctor commented that he lack in variety in diet was not huring him!  The doctor was so pleased with the progress he has made in his language and behavior.  He even suggested that he could handle mainstream school.  We ended the visit with two shots and Tag was not happy about it.  Thankfully the sticker he received after brightened his mood just a little bit.  Cannot believe this boy is five!

Our Baby is 5

I honestly cannot believe that Tag is 5!  Where has the time gone?  Our baby is no longer a baby.  We had such a fun day celebrating a beautiful boy that brings us so much joy.  He loves everything Mario and Minion.  He is amazing at video games and loves to talk our ears off which we love because his language has come so far.  I got to go to his class today and celebrate with all of his friends.  We played pin the goggles on the minion.  Tag was a little upset when his blindfolded friends did not put them in the correct spot but once he got over that, they had a great time.  He then handed out napkins and yellow cookies (his treat of choice) to each of his friends.  At home tonight we opened presents and had his favorite cake.  I am so grateful for Tag in our family.  He teaches me unconditional love and compassion.  I am a better person for all that I am blessed to learn from him.

Talented Big Brother

For Tag's birthday we are having a party at his school.  He wanted to do a minion theme so I asked Luke if he might be able to draw a large minion that they could play "Pin the Goggles on the Minion".  I bought him some supplies and he went to work!  It looks amazing!  Luke is such a talented artist!  Tag was a little concerned that he already has goggles so why would we need to pin any other goggles on there?  Love how literal he is!  He did beg that after the party we would be able to put it in his room!  He loves it!  Thanks so much Luke for sharing your talent and making his birthday even more special!

Making Amazing Memories

One of my best friend's Nickell manages a condo between Heber and Park City.  We made a plan to trade vacation spots- we could use the condo and her family can use our St. George place.  I chose a time in March and started planning.  I booked the 6-8pm slot at Soldier Hollow and we went tubing as a family for the first time ever.  It was seriously the funnest!  At one point as we were going up the rope tow I said a quick prayer of gratitude.  The weather was perfect and we were all enjoying the fun together.  Tag had a blast and we did not want to stop until they told us it was our last run!  After the fun in the snow we went to Dairy Keen, one of our favorite spots, for dinner.  After we ate we made a quick run through the drive thru for shakes before making our way to the condo.  What a beautiful place!  It was so spacious and Nickell had decorated it perfectly.  We watch a little bit of a movie before going to bed.  We woke up early to take off for our busy Saturday.  We stopped for breakfast at McDonalds and then it was back to reality.  I feel so grateful for these times that we get to enjoy as a family.  To get away from the craziness of our schedules and make memories as a family is golden!  Love my family and love our life!

Field Trip to the Dino Museum

Yesterday I had the opportunity to go with Tag and his class to the Dinosaur Museum.  Tag was so excited and he went through the museum at lightening speed to get to the sand digging at the end!  At least he paused for me to take a few pictures.  I love this sweet boy and I am beyond grateful for the opportunities he had gotten through Giant Steps.  It has been the best thing that has happened thus far in our autism journey.

Lucky strikes again

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This morning the kids awoke to find that their trap was unsuccessful!  That clever leprechaun did not get caught but he left the kids some treats of green to acknowledge their valient effort!  He also turned a few things upside down and left the toilet green!  For breakfast we continued the tradition of green eggs and ham! Thanks Lucky for leaving your mark!

Cashing in on my Christmas present

For Christmas, my boss gave me two lower bowl Jazz tickets for the game of my choice.  Well my choice was to give the tickets to Joey and Luke to go appreciate it more than I would have!  They decided to go to the Jazz vs. Clippers game and had a blast.  The Jazz won and it was a pretty close game.  They had a great time together and I love that they get to make these memories together.  I love this pictuer of them.  The only reason I got a smile out of that handsome hubby of mine, is because I kept shooting after the eye roll pictures!  Lesson learned.

Dance Competition

Yesterday Harlee had her first dance competition of the year.  She did an amazing job!  She performed a hip hop dance to "Me Too" by Megan Trainor.  They looked so sharp and clean.  The were awarded second place for this dance.  She then performed a jazz dance to "All that Jazz".  I love this song and I love watching Harlee dance to it!  They received first place for this little number.  I feel so lucky to watch her dance- my beautiful little dancer!

No more snaggletooth

About a week ago Gray got hurt at school and his front tooth was knocked a bit.  Rather than being in the correct spot it just hung a little low.  He came home from school today and told me that he lost his tooth.  Finally, no more snaggletooth and seriously could he be any cuter?  Love this little guy!

Finally breaking in the recommend...

I am embarrassed to say that Luke has had his temple recommend for months and we have had several failed attempts to go do baptisms.  He finally got the opportunity to go with the YM/YW to the Payson temple.  Luke said "It was fun.  I felt the Holy Ghost a lot while I was there."  He had ten names and was able to do ten baptisms and ten confirmations. So proud of Luke and the good choices that he makes that allows him to enter the temple.

Who said he doesn't like sandwiches?

It is no secret that our Tag is a litte particular when it comes to food!  He has a few favorites and rarely strays from them.  He loves carnation instant breakfast, vanilla and heated to medium.  He loves Jennie O turkey hot dogs, apples, cinnamon rolls, and cheez-its.  Latly he has been making a special cheez it sandwich.  He does this by getting a cheez it, chewing it up, and sandwiching it between two whole cheez its.  Kind of gross!  How does he come up with these things?  Love how he is being creative with his limited list of foods he likes!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
