Friday in the SG

After Nash and I returned from our date, we decided to go on a hike. We drove to this hike on the way to Zions and the road was closed. So Joey drove us to this overlook in LaVirken. It was amazing until it started raining. So we decided to load up on some snacks at Maverick and then drive to visit the polygomist town of Hilldale. We told the kids that we were not welcomed there so we had to be careful!! It was so interesting to see how they live. The town was so much more run down and Joey told us this was because they do not finish their homes to avoid taxes. Such a different life! We returned home and had some dinner. Then we were off to our favorite park! The kids are at such a fun park age and I loved watching them show us all of their tricks! Then we made our way over to Arctic Circle for some icecream! SO grateful for all the time we get to spend in our favorite place.

Nash and Mom Date

Since I recently took Harlee and Luke to that Lagoon and have been spending alone time with Gray and Tag, I decided it was time that Nash got a little one on one time. Since life has been crazy we planned to go on our first day in St. George for Labor Day. We decided to go to Fiesta Fun Center and ride the go-carts and then spend some time playing games in the arcade. When we got there the go-carts were not opened yet so we bought 44 tokens and went crazy! It was so fun to watch Nash play the games. He played this game where you aim a ball in a hole. Each hole has a different ticket amount that you could win. Nash had an amazing aim and got it in the "100" hole. It was so fun to watch all of the tickets keep coming out. He one almost 400 tickets and was able to get the cotton candy as his prize. After we cashed in the tickets, we went out to ride the go-karts. We were the only ones on the track and the nice worker let us drive for about 15 minutes. It was awesome. I love spending time with Nash. He is such a good boy and I am grateful to be his mom!

Food Miracles

Ever since our last trip down south to SG Tag's eating has gone downhill. He started refusing milk with instant breakfast and hot dogs. The two staples that allowed me patience along his food journey since I knew he was getting the nutrition he needed. I was so concerned and started his food therapy up again. Must be desperate when I am not put off by the $60 an hour charge! I also contacted his pediatrician. He said to get 1000-1500 calories in him a day. He did not care what it was just to focus on the amount. What a trying few weeks. Donuts and icees were the staple at our house. I was logging his calorie intake daily and making sure he was getting enough. The only healthy thing he would eat was fruit snacks (they are motts with veggies and fruit) and an occasional apple. Last Friday I was taking a shower and Tag came in the bathroom. He said "Mom, I want a ba ba babies". This is what he calls his sippy with milk. I could not believe my ears. With Tag we cannot make a big deal out of things or he quickly changes his mind. So I hurried out of the shower and he asked for one again. I made one as quickly as I could praying the whole time that he was really going to drink it. Prayers were answered and he did! That night he also started eating hot dogs again. I had been putting it on his plate every night and he was not interested. I could not believe he was eating them. I believe the structure of school and the divine assistance helped him to have the courage to eat again. Such a serious blessing. So grateful that he is getting the nutrients he needs again!!

Super Mario Bros

It is so fun that all three younger boys are into the same thing. They all love Super Mario Bros. For Halloween they have chosen to be characters from this wii game. When Joey and I went out on Saturday night we stopped by Kohl's to get some new undies for Gray and Tag (wishful thinking!) When we were there we saw these cute jammie pants. How CUTE are these little guys of mine! Love them!

First Day of Kindergarten and Preschool

On Wednesday it was Gray and Tag's turn (and kind of mom's turn since she earned a few hours of quiet!) to go to school. Tag is going to preschool at Alpine Elementary this year. The boundaries have changed for the special education program and he has to go so far. I was really nervous about it until I went to meet his teacher. She was like "I know you!". I felt kind of bad because I had no idea who she was. Turns out she was Harlee's talking time teacher when she was four. It was such a comforting connection and I know she is looking after our Tag. He is going four days a week. The bus comes and picks him up from our house at noon and brings him home at 4:30. Such a LONG day for such a little guy but we know that structure is the greatest blessing for him. Gray went next and is in kindergarten this year. He has Mrs. Parsons for a teacher and she seems so nice. When we went for his evaluation a few days before school started Gray smoked it!! He was reading whole sentences when all that she was desiring was for him to sound out a word. He is such a fun and bright boy. I just know that they are both going to have the best year!!

Dinosaur Museum for Two

After we dropped the kiddos off at school we decided to go to the dinosaur museum. It was kind of nice to have only two kids to watch after. I love watching Tag and Gray interact. Since Gray does not have Nash, he has no other option than to hang out with Tag. Tag just looks up to Gray so much. Whatever Gray would do Tag would copy. I am going to love this time that they have together this year and I just know it will be a blessing to both of them.

First "First Day of School"

Today is the first day of school for Luke, Harlee, and Nash. Luke is going into the sixth grade and he has Mrs. Rhode. He had her for fourth grade and loved her. He is excited for a great year especially since his friend Braydan Jacobsen is in his class! Harlee is going into the third grade and she has Mrs. Leder. She has several friends in her class this year including a boy that has a crush on her!! Nash is going into the first grade and has Mrs. Wirick. It will be the first year that he goes to school all day! So excited for all of them! I just know it is going to be an amazing year!

Lagoon surprise

I am not sure if I have mentioned it on the blog but I have been working as my friend Nickell's assistant and am employed by Security National Mortgage company. I have been working since the end of May and have decided to put nursing on hold as I pursue this new opportunity. Anyway, my company was celebrating their 50th birthday and paid for all of us to go to Lagoon. I was not sure if I wanted to go since the kids started school the next day. I finally decided to go and it was seriously the best decision. I told the kids the day before and they were so excited. The day before I told them Luke was saying how he could not wait until next summer when he would get to go to Lagoon and ride Cannibal their new ride. Well he did not have to wait and we got to end the summer riding on the BEST ride ever. Luke, Harlee and I went with Nickell and her kids Connor and Vanessa. We had the best time. It was not very crowded and we were able to go on all the rides that we wanted to. It was so much fun to spend time with Luke and Harlee. I love them so much and cherish these memories that we get to make together. What an awesome day!!
