Love Family Night!!

We had such a great night as a family. I just LOVE being surrounded by all these little ones I get to love. We made chicken strips and fries for dinner and decided to eat in the basement. We all got in our pjs, took our plates, and went down to watch Elf. Such a funny movie! Nothing sounds sweeter than their little laughs. I am a blessed lady. I am so grateful for these moments away from the busyness to enjoy time together.

Nash's Polar Express

"We get to go on the Polar Express train!" said Nash several times a day for the last week. Friday they were told to wear their pajamas to school and they were going to ride on the polar express train. I tried to tell him that it might not be a real train but my dreamer boy would not believe me. He did come home to tell me it was so fun but the train was just made of paper. So glad he still had fun even though he did not get to enjoy a real train ride. Love this cute boy!

What???

I really should not be shocked at this point, but the words that came out of his mouth today really took me by surprise. We were in the car waiting for the kids to come out from school and the movie "Annie" was playing. Gray came and sat up front by me. He then proceeds to say "This movie sucks!" "What did you say?", I asked him. To which he responded again, "This movie sucks!". You have to feel like Mom of the Year when those great words come out of the mouth of your three year old. Can't wait to hear what he says next! Maybe I can wait... *By the way, this is the way that Gray said he smiled in his preschool picture yesterday. Cannot wait to see those pictures I paid $25 for! Awesome!

They did not even miss us...

I would venture to say that the kids did not even miss us while we were gone. Hailee was the best! She took them to do so many fun things. They went to Airborne, to play at Carson and Brody's, to spend time with Mimi and GP, to Thanksgiving Point to see the reindeer, and many other fun things! She was so great to make the time so enjoyable for them. So grateful for her!

Kid Free trip to the SG

I must admit that I never thought this would happen. In all the years since having kids, Joey and I have not been away for more than one night. We decided that we needed a break and planned a few nights together in St. George. Hailee was so sweet to watch the kids for us! We left on Thursday after Thanksgiving dinner with my side of the family and did not come back until Sunday afternoon. It was wonderful! We enjoyed the drive down talking and listening to good music! The days down there were spent relaxing, Joey working a little, shopping, eating out, visiting Joey's parents, and loving the warm weather. Joey and I both decided that if he could find a job down there we would move there in a second. We love it down there. We had such a wonderful time! I am so grateful to be married to my best friend. There is no one that I would rather be with! Such a great weekend! *Joey does not look to happy in these pictures but he promises he was excited for the time away!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Childs

Who sets up Christmas decorations the day before Thanksgiving? You do when you only have a little over three weeks after Thanksgiving until Christmas this year. So Wednesday night to complete our day of fun, we got the Christmas decorations set up. I love working together to get the ornaments on the tree. For every few we put up, Tag would pull them off! This year we added a few new decorations and moved the tree to the great room. I LOVE it!! Cannot wait until Christmas.

His favorite accessory

Tag loves Harlee's Hello Kitty Fedora! Whenever he finds it, he puts it on a wears it all around the house. I am sure this is something he will love me to tell all his guy friends when he gets older. He looks so cute now and it will serve as some good black mail in the future!

Fun day and hopefully a new tradition

Twas the day before Thanksgiving and we decided to make it a day o fun! We bribed the kids that if they cleaned their rooms then we would go to Pizza Pie Cafe for lunch. After lunch, I took the four older ones to see Disney's Frozen. It was such a good movie! I may have cried a little at the end which embarrassed Luke just a little bit! It is so fun to be able to take them to the movies and they actually sit and watch most of it! I cannot wait until Tag is old enough to go too. Then Joey will be able to come with us too! Such a fun day to spend as a family and I am thinking that Joey needs to take this day off every year!

Luke gets his Wolf

It has been a long time coming but last night Luke was finally awarded his Wolf at pack meeting. He finished this back in June and he was recognized last night. We are so proud of everything he is accomplishing in the scouting program. Along with his Wolf he also got several belt loops and a yellow bead. Not sure what that is for?? He also got his heritage badge. He was so surprised and had no idea what that was for! Maybe I will be called as den mother so I can learn a little more about this program. Hopefully not! I think I would prefer to just read about it on my own!

One of his few favorite foods

Tag is in the picky phase and I am hoping it ends soon! On his short list of favorite foods are black beans. Really? If I had a choice of so many things black beans would not be my pick. But Tag loves them. We got him some from Cafe Rio last night and he was in heaven. If only he left some evidence of what he had just eaten!! What a cute disaster.

My favorite wall

We finally had some family pictures taken a few months ago and yesterday we arranged them on what is now my favorite wall. I seriously LOVE it! The pictures turned out so good and this wall displays my greatest blessings. So grateful!!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
