New friend in the backyard

I was taking the trash out today, barefoot, when I almost stepped on this!! What is it? It kind of looks like a spider but not really. Whatever it is, it scared me so bad. I made Luke step on it after we all took pictures to show Joey. So grateful for my brave boy who saved his mom from the backyard bug! Hope he does not have any friends that might make a visit! Got to love having the mountain as your backyard.

Too close

After feeding Tag on Sunday, I left the leftovers too close to his little hands and this was the outcome! He was in orange heaven! Even under all the sweet potatoes and corn, he is such a doll. How can you get upset with this cute boy? What a mess! He looks so pleased with himself!

18 months

Let me go on record by saying this is the fastest 18 months of my life. Why is it when you want to freeze time that it speeds up? Knowing my sweet Tag is our last baby makes me want to cherish every little moment with this stubborn, sneaky, little love! We just took him to his 18 month appointment and here are his stats: Weight: 25lbs 18 oz- 50% Height: 33 3/4 in- 85% And for the best news- he is back on the charts for his huge head! It is about 90%! He is growing into that thing! He is doing great in his development except for the talking. Kids on the move has started working with him and the dr hopes that he can say 10-20 words by his 2 year appointment. We really hope. He is so quiet and quick. He sneaks upstairs and loves to hang out on the top bunk. Not the safest option for our little guy! I cannot take my eyes off of him for a second. We sure love our little Tag and so so grateful he is a part of our family! *Here are a few pics of the little man. He is less than cooperative when he knows you want to take his picture!

September Snow

September and snow- those are two words that should never go together. Only in Utah! It is a day like this that makes me wish we lived in Cali! I love Utah but I am so not a fan of the cold or the snow. I hope that this little storm is not an indication of an early winter. I need fall to ease me into the winter season. It feels like I just recovered from last year. Time to check that each one of the kids has a winter coat that fits. Thought I had a few more weeks to worry about that!

A "Nothing"

I am not even sure how to explain this word that is used so often in Gray's daily vocabulary. If ever Gray thinks that he is in trouble this is his response. Here is an example: Me: "Gray, what are you doing?" (when he is doing something that he should not be doing) Gray: "A Nothing". He will also say this if he is embarrassed about something. He uses this word so frequently and always makes us laugh. I love the funny things that come out of their mouths. Gray is such a funny kid and we cannot wait to hear what he will say next.

My blessing wall

When we finished the basement, Joey had some recessed lighting done to make a perfect photo wall. I could not wait to fill the wall. Before Daryk left on his mission he was so nice to take some pictures of the kids. We recently hung all the pictures and I am in love! I love how all the pictures turned out. They are such beautiful kids and I feel so lucky that they are mine!

Glamorous

Today Harlee was invited to go to Shelby Warner's Glamorous Birthday Party. I had my own ideas about what she could wear but Harlee had it under control. As soon as I told her what glamorous meant, she went to work. I love her colorful choices! She was so excited to go and I just know she will have a great time. So thankful to live in this neighborhood where she is surrounded by darling girlfriends! *She told me I needed to take a picture of her with her glasses and one without!

The tradition is back!!

When Joey and I were first married, we made the goal to do a half marathon every year. Well since I have been pregnant for so many years, this has not come to fruition!! BUT now that the having baby phase is over, there are no more excuses! We started training about three months ago and today we did the Big Cottonwood Half. It was the most beautiful run. The first nine miles are down the canyon. It is so great while you are doing it but boy are we sore! We finished in about 2:20. It was not the best time but not bad for our first race back! It can only get better next year! I am so grateful for a husband that is so active. He pushes me to do things that I never thought were possible. So fun to go through these experiences together! Love him and I loved this race! *Since there was pretty much no chance Joey would let me ask someone to take our picture, we attempted the "selfie" in the dark. Not too successful but at least you can kind of see us!

Breakfast for Dinner

We have been trying to get the "Breakfast Club" together and finally we managed to- minus Deb. What better reason to go than to celebrate Serene's birthday. We went to The Cheesecake Factory and ate way too much. It was so fun to spend time with Janet and Serene. They are such great ladies and I always leave wanting to be better. So grateful for their friendship and their examples.

Planes

Today I took the four oldest to see Planes. It is pretty much the movie Cars in the air! Gray has been so excited to go and I would love to report that he sat still watching it the whole time. Not so much! About an hour into it, both Gray and Nash got a little restless. Thankfully for the last twenty minutes they sat still and enjoyed the movie. It was such a cute movie with even cuter company! When we came out of the movies it was a DOWNPOUR! It was raining so hard. Crazy to think since it was so sunny in the picture I took before we went! So grateful that Joey works so hard to allow us these fun times together! We are truly blessed! *This was the best of three pictures. Harlee's eyes were closed in all three!!

Let the craziness begin....

Yesterday marked the beginning of three in soccer season! Nash had a game at 9, Harlee had a game at 10, and Luke had a game at 10. On top of that, Joey had to work! I was wishing that there was some way to split myself in three! Thanks to Joey taking Gray and some friends helping out- we made it. I felt bad that Luke did not have anyone watching him BUT it was his fifth game already this season so I felt a little better. They all did so great! This was Nash's first game ever and he has a great kick! Harlee scored three goals and she is just a natural. Luke has become quite an amazing soccer player. He is playing on a competitive team this year. He usually ends up having two practices and two games a week. Four days a week of soccer but it is paying off. So fun to watch them play! Just getting worried about how hard it will be in a few years when all five of them want to play soccer! We will definitely be enlisting the help of grandparents!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
