Tonight Ike laid down on the new comfy stairs and blended right in. He looked so cute and I had to take a picture. We love having Ike in our family. He really is such a great dog and such a blessing to have around.
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

Pumpkin Carving
Every year Tag gets so excited about carving pumpkins. He usually starts asking Joey about it on October 1. We got his pumpkin at Costco yesterday and he could not wait to carve it. It is such a different phase of life when Tag is the only one interested in the carving. He did such a great job. Thanks so much to Nash for cleaning it out for him.

Eight more
Time is quickly coming to an end for Luke's mission. I cannot believe it. Only eight more p-days including today. Luke had a great week including the baptism of their friends Myriam and Julianne. He said it was amazing to be a small part of their conversion to the gospel. Luke also got to go and do an exchange with another Creole elder. He had a great time. We are starting to plan for Luke's coming home. I can get him registered for school next week. He is planning on going to UVU. So crazy! Here is to another amazing week.

Accepted!
Har applied to Utah Tech University that is in St. George. She received her letter today that she was accepted. So exciting! I am happy for her. I will really miss her but I have the most amazing memories from college. She will have the best time.
Fall Break in SG
We drove down on Wednesday night after Har got off work. We made it down, unpacked, and were in bed before midnight. It was so nice to not have any traffic. We woke up on Thursday morning and did a little shopping for groceries. Joey and I had to work quite a bit but the kids got to swim and relax so everyone was happy. Grandma and Grandpa came over and visited which was fun. We went to Pizza Factory for dinner and then to Digby's for some ice cream. Such a great day! The weather was super cold on Friday so we made plans to go bowling and go to lunch with John and Darolyne. We met at the bowling alley at 10:30 am. It was so fun to spend time with them and Harlee was the winner! She has been bowling with Miah on Friday nights and her practice is paying off. After bowling we went to Chubbys for lunch. We then went home to work/relax a little before trying a new Italian restaurant for dinner. The food was good but not good enough for the price! We decided that was a one and done since it was $117 for two small pizzas and pasta for Har and I. We then went home and watched some Impractical Jokers as a family before Har left to go out with Miah. Saturday morning we got up early to go to some garage sales. There were not any good ones but we enjoyed ourselves driving around listening to 80s music. After the sales, we met John and Darolyne at Pork Bellies for lunch- our favorite! After lunch Har and I went shopping for a bit and found some good finds! Love spending time with her. After we got back we decided to go on a hike. The weather was perfect and so were the moods! Loved it. We finished off the night doing a little around the house. We woke up early this morning to clean and we were on the road at 8:30 am. It was such a nice few days in our favorite place. One night when we were there Joey and I were standing outside enjoying the view. I said that I cannot wait until this is our life. Love that place!

Only 2 months left...
After today's PDay, Elder Childs will only have 8 more. It is so crazy to think about that. It really feels like time sped up after he hit the year mark. We have started getting things ready for when he returns. He will start school on January 5th and we get him registered on Oct 29. I cannot believe that we are at this point. It is so exciting. Luke had a better week this week with his companion. So grateful for prayers being answered. He only has 3.5 more weeks in this transfer and the last transfer is only 5 weeks. Luke had a great week of missionary work. They have two friends that are really progressing, Myrium and Julianne. They are both on schedule to get baptized on the 20th. I love to see all of the work and success that he has gotten to be a part of since he moved to the Creole branch. It is amazing and what a blessing to be able to finish up his mission working so much.

Final Date of 2024
This year for dates the kids got to choose what we did for their activity. Both Nash and Gray wanted to try the Grid which is a go cart racing place. We decided to take them together. We started the date by going to Goodwood for lunch. That seems to always be the first choice! It was so fun to eat and chat with them. They are both such good kids and so funny. After lunch we drove to Pleasant Grove for them to have their race. They had a great time. The cars went so fast and they were both wishing that maybe we waited and had lunch after the race! Love these dates and the time we get to spend with each of our kids. They did tell me that next year I have to come up with the dates again. I better start thinking...

A girl and her puppy
Ike loves love! He for sure fits in our family perfectly. He loves to run up and see Har as long as she is sitting on the floor. Today she was getting up from the floor and Ike gave her a hug. It was so cute! Love having Ike in the family.

Luke's peeps get a temple!
We had general conference this last weekend and it was amazing. One especially amazing part was when the temples were announced and a new temple is going to be built in Summit New Jersey! That is currently 15 minutes from where Luke is serving. So exciting for all the people in New Jersey to have a temple in their state. Luke is so excited. He said that when they were watching the whole room went crazy and his mission chat blew up. Luke also filled me in this week that he is struggling with his companion. Luke has been so reluctant to say anything negative his whole mission but this transfer has gotten pretty difficult. His companion will belittle him and question his missionary work. Thankfully this should be the last transfer for this companionship and I am just praying that he gets an amazing companion for his final transfer. So proud of Luke and hope that this week is better for him.

Happy Birthday to our favorite
Happy birthday JD and here's to an amazing year. I was thinking about it and this is the 23rd birthday that I have gotten to celebrate with Joey. What a blessing! Joey is one of the best men that I know. I feel so blessed to know that our children are looking to him as an example. If they follow his amazing example, I know that they will continue to be amazing. We are so grateful for the beautiful life that Joey works so hard to provide for us. We are truly so lucky. I hope he feels loved and appreciated today and everyday. We sure love him!
The stairs are finally done
Joey finished the railing a few weeks ago and the final touch was to get new carpet. Yesterday we tore up all of the old carpet on the stairs- it took forever and we were so grateful for Nash and Gray. They are hard workers! Still can't believe we thought brown shag for the basement was a good decision. The new carpet was installed today on both the stairs going up and down to the basement. I am in LOVE! It really brightens up the space. Now I am just hoping that everyone can follow the no shoe rule so we can keep it light and bright.
