This morning Har and I traveled to Magna for Har's dance competition. She competed with two different numbers: a jazz number to Love Story by Taylor Swift. I loved this one. It was seriously so good. The second number they competed with was a lyrical called Uncharted Waters. It was such a pretty dance. I love watching Har dance and it is so fun that she gets to dance with her sweet friend Miah. They did such an amazing job. Such a fun morning.
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

PDay
I feel like a broken record but definitely a lesson I want to listen to over and over! Luke is doing great and I LOVE Monday's. He had another great week. He said that the language is coming and he is so grateful for the gift of tongues. I just know that Heavenly Father is going to bless him with quick knowledge and understanding. He has given Luke an opportunity he desired which is for sure a blessing, but he also is asking him to do something pretty difficult in a short amount of time. So I know He will help Luke and bless him. Luke spent the week serving and fulfilling his zone leader duties. There is a lot of extra stuff Luke is asked to do but he is doing it so well. Luke loves that he gets to know so many missionaries with this role. So fun! So happy he is happy. Until next week Elder C...

Another great week for our missionary
Love Monday's! It is so fun to get to chat with Luke and hear all about his week. It is exceptionally fun when he is loving where he is at. He had a great week and they were able to put someone on baptismal date. He also got to have an exchange with Elder Dyer who is one of his good buddies. I cannot believe that he hit the 16 month mark. His mission is going so fast. He said that he is picking up the language a bit more and he just seems so happy. Such a blessing for a mom! So proud of you Lukie!

Tag's first camping trip
Tag couldn't be more excited and I couldn't be more nervous! Tag wanted to go on the YM campout. I had a few discussions, the campsite was moved to a park about 10 minutes away (serious blessing) and we agreed to let him go. He was so excited knowing Joey was going to help him pack on Thursday night that as soon as he walked in the door from work, Tag was by his side. He couldn't wait! They left on Friday shortly after school and then they came home on today around 10am. He had the best time and actually offered to cook the bacon for breakfast! I am so grateful that Tag has amazing leaders and that he can go and have these amazing experiences.

First week with the new language
It was so fun to chat with Luke today. He is so happy! He really likes his new companion Elder Rogers and he is loving the opportunity to learn a new language. He was transferred to his new area on Friday but was able to go back to his old hood for Etienne's baptism. Luke was so excited to be able to be a part of that. Such an amazing experience. Luke said that he is already starting to understand Haitian Creole. I just know that he will be blessed with the gift of tongues as he takes on this new challenge. He will do amazingly!

Big changes, BIG blessing
So Luke has really loved his mission. He has mentioned on several occasions that his one regret was that he did not learn a language. In fact, he has told the boys to make sure they mark that they are opened to new languages on their mission papers. Well on Wednesday, Luke got his transfer call. We asked him to give us a hint by posting a tagline on his FB messenger. We had to wait until late Wednesday night but he let us know. I am so so excited for him. He is going to Elizabeth and opening up a Haitian Creole area with Elder Rogers from West Jordan, UT. He is getting his wish to learn a new language. I know that Heavenly Father knows Luke and is blessing him for his service. Having this new opportunity will make the rest of his mission just fly by. I am so proud of Luke and so grateful for this gift he is being given. It will push him but I just know that he will rise to the occasion. So excited to watch him continue to grow.

After conference high...
Love that we got to chat with Luke today. He had a good week. He LOVED conference especially Elder Holland's talk. They also had a 4.8 earthquake Saturday morning. So crazy. He said that they were ok, just felt the building moving. This upcoming week, Luke will find out where he will be going next. I am a little nervous that he will just stay in Morristown. He is having a little difficulty with his companion so I feel that he might stay to be stretched a bit more. We will have to see. Cannot believe another week has passed. The time is definitely speeding up and I cannot wait to have him home.

Spring Break in SG
It feels like forever since we have been SG so we were excited to get down to our favorite place. We left on Wednesday around 5pm and made it down to SG around 9pm. We plan to come home early on Sunday and the time went by way too fast. On Thursday we enjoyed the sun shine. We had heated the pool and we swam all day long. We did take a break to go to Pork Belly's for lunch. Still amazing! We ended up just relaxing for the rest of the night. Friday we went to Fiesta Fun so Tag could ride the go-carts. Unfortunately they are redoing the track so the kids just did the arcades. We then went to Pizza Factory for lunch. The kids swam even though the weather was a bit colder. Harlee and I went shopping which was super fun. We ended up getting Rigattis for dinner which was super yummy. Saturday we watched conference and had a family dinner with John, Darolyne, Carson, and Kylee. It was fun to visit with everyone. we spent the rest of the night getting the house cleaned up so we could leave bright and early. The time down there goes by way too fast. We will be heading back down at the end of May and I can't wait. Why can't we live there??

Missionary Check in
Love Monday's! So fun to get to chat with Luke today. This week he had zone conference and had to speak at that. He said that it went really well. Elder Kamargo gave his farewell testimony. That was touch for Luke. He really loves him and will miss him. In other big news, they had a baptism for Mayara. So amazing. What a beautiful experience to be a part of. So special! They also got a couple of Easter meals as well as an Easter egg hunt with the Hockenjos. So grateful for all the people that are looking out for him. Such a blessing for a mom who is missing her son. So glad that he is doing so well and cannot believe that the mission is going by so quickly.
April Fools
Bless Tag's little heart. I was talking with Har in her room and as I walked down the hall, Tag came out of his room. He was as white as a ghost. I asked him what was wrong and he just hugged me. He said that he heard that a planet was going to collide with earth in less than 3 months. I first told him that it would be ok because we would all die together. Not the answer he wanted to hear, so I took a different approach. I asked him if he knew what patriarchal blessings are. I told him that Joey's talks about being around to see grandkids. I asked Tag if we have any grandkids in the family. He said no and I told him that then we know that we are going to be ok. He seemed to calm down. A few minutes later he came out of his room to tell me that he fell for an April Fool's joke. Oh Tag! He is so innocent and so literal. Love him so much.

Easter
So grateful for Easter! Because of my Savior I can be with my family forever. I can make mistakes and be forgiven for them. Such amazing blessings. Got to spend the day surrounded by my favorite people. We had sacrament only and then came home to have a super yummy dinner of ham, potatoes, corn and rolls. Followed by oreo icecream dessert. Pretty perfect day.
