A New Dog

After way too long, our cute puppy is getting groomed.  He has gotten so shaggy and so stinky!  I found a new groomer that comes to our house and grooms him outside in her grooming truck.  When he came back he looked so different and he was not happy with me!  I have attached the second picture as evidence.  She could not save his beard since it was so matted.  We are going to try to grow it now and hope it stays healthy.  So excited to have a clean fresh Ike.

Childs Halloween Home

This year an unexpected member of the Childs family took over the Halloween decor.  Joey!  The man who does not love the work of decorating.  I was so impressed.  The kids helped him set everything up and it looked great.  So fun to feel the Halloween spirit!  I would bet money that all of this decor will be cleaned up by November 1st but we will enjoy it while it is there.

James Taylor

The night was finally here!  My dad had purchased tickets for all of my OG family to go to the James Taylor concert.  We were supposed to go in May of 2020 but due to Covid it got rescheduled.  I was so excited to have all of my siblings fly in so we could go together.  Cory and Jeremy ended up staying at my house.  Jeremy picked me up around 7pm on Thursday and we went to the airport to get Cor.  It was so fun to see them.  I had not seen Jeremy since July of 2019.  He brought Henry with him and he got to hang with his cousins while we went to the airport.  We got up early on Friday and all worked out in the Childs gym.  It was so fun to spend time with them.  Then we went to Jenna's where we met everyone except Tara.  We hung out for a little while joking and catching up.  Then we went up to Salt Lake to pick up Tara and Susie.  After we got her we went to lunch at a mexican place in Salt Lake.  Don had to leave for his MBA class but the rest of us ate and caught up.  It was seriously the best.  We went home to get ready and needed to meet at Jenna's at 4:15pm.  My dad rented a limo to take us to dinner and the concert.  I was a little embarrassed by the limo but kind of loved that we were dropped off at the front of the concert and did not have to walk!  We went to Good Wood for dinner.  It was so good and so much fun to get to be there all together.  After dinner we drove to the concert.  The concert was amazing!  I love James Taylor- his music brings back good memories.  It was the best watching him perform surrounded by my siblings, some of my greatest friends.

Fall Break in the SG

We were so excited to go down for our traditional Fall Break in St. George.  We left on Wednesday night and drove with a uhaul trailer full of a dresser, cabinet, and two coleman motorcycles.  We could not wait to try them out in the red dirt!  On Thursday we had to work a ton but the kids had fun swimming in the heated pool.  Joey was able to take a break and took the kids to try out the bikes.  They all had so much fun.  On Friday we went to Chilis for lunch and then went to try out a new roller skating rink.  When we walked in I saw my first babysitter Shawna.  It was so fun to catch up with her, just like no time had passed.  We promised to go to lunch the next time we go down.  After visiting with Shawna Gray, Nash and Har had fun skating with me.  The others just sat and watched.  We went home to swim some more and then Joey and I ended the night with a walk in the perfect weather.  We got up early on Saturday to go to a few garage sales.  Harlee scored with the vinyls and was so excited.  We met up with John and Darolyne for lunch at pizza factory.  It was fun to visit with them.  After lunch Har and I went to take some stuff to DI and then went to a couple local thrift stores that John recommended.  It is so fun to spend time with her.  When we got home we went and played pickle ball.  We had both courts to ourselves and it was so fun.  Then Joey, Luke, and I went to try out the motorcycles.  So much fun!  I may have screamed like a little girl.  After the ride Harlee and I got to visit with Tami!  She is seriously one of my favorite people.  We love chatting with her.  After the visit Joey and I went to dinner at a dive Mexican place that Tami recommended.  It was super good and it is super close to our house.  Definitely trying that again.  We got up, cleaned, and drove home.  Another wonderful trip for the books.  So love our home down south and the memories we continue to make.

New Job for Luke

After giving his two weeks notice, Luke is moving on to freshen up another school.  He has been hired as a sweeper at Viewpoint.  He is so excited to work with his friends Tyson Hyde, Riley, and Ben.  His prior supervisor told Luke that he is the best sweeper he has ever had at any school and he has worked at three schools.  So proud of you Luke!  Good luck on your new job!

Pumpkin Carving

Nash and Gray were super sad that they missed out on the pumpkin carving so we bought three more pumpkins for them to carve.  They loved using the new tools that Joey bought and I loved watching them all be creative together.

Tag's Pumpkin Carving

For weeks, Tag has been begging Joey to get a pumpkin so he can carve it.  Once Tag gets an idea in his head there is no way of getting out of it.  Joey had purchased a carving set off Amazon and Tag could not wait to get to work.  On their Friday night Sams Club trip, Tag chose a white pumpkin to carve.  He was so ready to carve and slightly upset when Joey told him he had to clean out the pumpkin.  He did a great job!  Then Joey suggested that he draw out an idea of what he would like to do.  Again, Tag was a little frustrated because he really wanted to just carve.  He gave in and took a little time to draw out his idea before Joey helped him carve his masterpiece.  It turned out super cute!  I love these special times where our kids get to learn from their Dad.

Tag round 2 at the State Capitol

Tag was so excited for his school field trip to the State Capitol.  He woke up early to get ready and we gave him and umbrella to take since it was going to pour today.  When he got home I asked him how it was and he said "Actually, it was kind of boring!"  So funny!  I reminded him that at least it was something different from the normal day in the classroom.  I love this kid's honesty.  Never have to question how he really feels.

Another artist in the family

This semester Nash is taking an art class.  He is an amazing artist!  His teacher keeps telling him his drawings are killer!  I totally agree.  His most recent project was to draw a self portrait.  I was so impressed.  It looks like him!  So proud of you Nash for developing your artistic talent.

Another set of twins in the family

A couple of weeks ago, Cory and Holly called and asked if I liked being a twin.  I knew that they were expecting another baby so when they asked I just knew.  They were going to have twins!  I can't imagine how overwhelmed they must be feeling especially since Smith will just be 18 months when the twins are due.  If anyone can handle it though, they can!  They will be the best parents to all three of their babies.  This picture is how they announced it on social media.  Could not be any cuter!  So happy for them and their growing family.

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
