It was finally time for us to go to Lagoon! Tag opted to stay home so Grandma came and stayed with him. We got there shortly after it opened and minus a little rain it was kind of the perfect day. We had so much fun. I am not sure if I have mentioned it in the past but Harlee and Nash are not the biggest fans of roller coasters. They had pumped themselves up and promised to try a few new rides. Our first ride was Bomboora to get them warmed up. We then went on Bat. Harlee did great but Nash was a little nervous when the ride was over. We made our way over to Colossus. Nash almost got out of line but was super brave. He actually kind of liked it. We went on a few more rides before deciding to conquer Cannibal. Nash sat by me and was crying kind of hysterically as the ride took off. I felt so bad. As we pulled in and the ride was over Nash said "I am so lame! That was so fun!" He was converted. We had so much fun spending the rest of the day at the park. It was a blast going on the rides together. Love my family.
We are the Childs family. Joey and I have been married for 23 years. We five beautiful and busy children: Luke is 21, Harlee is 18, Nash is 16, Gray is 15, and Tag is 13. Our days are CRAZY! We never stop going but love every minute of it!

She said Yes!
Last night Brennan proposed to Aubrey. He took her to a bridge in the River Bottoms where they had taken pictures for one of the high school dances. She said yes and they are both so excited. They are getting married on December 26,2020. I am so excited for them. Congrats!

An answer and a new pet
Last night the doorbell rang at almost 10pm. We went out to see that Luke's potential HOCO date had answered him. She left a poster that said "Luke we will have a splash @ homecoming, so I'm O-FISH-ally saying Yes! Ellie". She left a couple bags of swedish fish and a new goldfish he named Jefferson. Luke was so excited and posted on his instagram. I am so excited for Luke to have his first date!

Special Guest
Due to COVID we have been taking turns going to church in groups of 100. It was our turn to go today. We all got up and were at church 8 minutes early. Our gift for accomplishing that amazing feat was having a special guest at our meeting. When we walked in we saw President Dallin H. Oaks walk in the room. I guess he used to be in the same ward as Bishop Vera. We were all a little star struck. Nash had the opportunity to pass the sacrament to him which is such a neat experience. After the speakers were done, President Oaks got up and shared his testimony. He testified of the importance of prayer. He mentioned that he even prays for the political leaders that he is not planning on voting for. He also spoke of how he did a zoom meeting with the people of Japan and how his wife served her mission in Japan. It was so neat to hear him speak in such an intimate setting. Such a blessing! I am so grateful for the spirit that filled the room and the truth I felt in knowing he is a mouthpiece for Heavenly Father. What a beautiful sabbath surprise.
Luke's growing up... First date?
On Wednesday I took Luke to get gas in his car- he is so nervous to get gas by himself because he thinks that he will not know how to shut if off and gas will spray everywhere. So funny! While the gas was pumping Luke said that he was going to ask a girl to Homecoming. Due to COVID they are not having an actual dance but his group of friends are having their own little dance. I could not believe it and I could not contain my excitement. Luke had a difficult time last year so to see him participate in social things makes me so so happy. He decided to ask a girl name Ellie. He made a sign that said "It would be 'my pleasure' to take a cool chick like you to HOCO." He put the sign on her porch with a shake and fries from Chick Fila. He has not heard back yet but she posted a story on her Instagram showing the sign and she said "HOCO with Luke Childs!!" Good sign! I am so excited for Luke and I am really going to try to dial it in and be cool mom.

Tag's Date
Tag was so excited that today is his day for a turn a date. We went to FatCats and he could not wait to do the virtual reality. He chose to do the Job Simulator. He had so much fun making food in the oven and blending things in the virtual blender. When his time was up we went over to play arcade games. He loved getting to play any game he wanted and he was so good at all of them. He won 265 tickets and had fun in the prize room choosing a sword, ball, and army guy. To top off the fun we went to 7-11 for a treat. The date got rave reviews as Tag said it was fun and exciting. I love these dates and fun times that we get to enjoy with the kiddos one on one.

Nash's Report
Nash is always so proactive when it comes to any assignment or basically anything in life. He was given the assignment at the beginning of the school year and he came home and got started. He is definitely not a procrastinator. He decided to do his project on toilets around the world- where to go when you need to go. He worked so hard and had his project done long before the due date. Today he had to present and he was super nervous. I do not know why because he was so prepared. He said when he put his poster up everyone laughed. I am so proud of Nash. He is such an amazing student and works so hard.

Labor Day 2020
| Add caption |
With COVID we have not been able to have many family get togethers. The last time we got together was for Tag's baptism. We decided to go to Jamie and Mindi's house for Labor Day. We all brought our own lunch and spent a few hours visiting with each other. The kids had so much fun swimming, playing badminton, and play corn hole. It was so much fun to visit with everyone. I have so missed seeing them. The weather was perfect and it was a wonderful way to enjoy a day off.

Nash's Bathroom Remodel
Now that Nash is downstairs he has his own bathroom. He has expressed his dislike for the yellowish orangeish walls. Harlee and I went and bought some new wall decor and white paint. We were going to wait a few days to paint but decided to get going. The white paint really brightens up the small space. Nash loves it especially the monkey plugging his nose. Loving the changes.

I love this picture and I love the sweet relationship between Tag and Ike. Tag genuinely loves his puppy. We are so grateful to have Ike in our family.

True Love
Nothing defines true love like a husband who will drive all over town to stock the fridge with a huge supply of his wife's favorite drink. Thanks so much Joey! This should get Tag and I through the next couple of weeks. So grateful for you.
