15 year celebration

On Tuesday after much planning Joey and I left for a trip without kids!  We got the kids off to school and then boarded a plane to San Diego.  I was so excited!  We were going to be away from Tuesday until Saturday morning.  We landed in San Diego, got our Santa Fe upgraded rental car and then drove to paradise.  We walked around La Jolla and the weather was BEAUTIFUL!  We went to Smash Burger for lunch and then drove to see the temple.  Such a beautiful temple and such a perfect way to start out a trip with my eternal companion.  After walking around the temple we drove to our hotel.  It was a very nice hotel with the perfect view.  I could not believe that we were there and you could see the beach from our window.  My friend Nickell told them that it was our anniversay That night we went to California Pizza Kitchen for dinner.  It was so great to be able to enjoy long dinners and conversations uninterrupted by kiddos.  We drove around San Diego and then turned in for the night.  The next day we went for a 4 mile walk along the boardwalk by the beach.  It was so beautiful.  We went to Taco Bell for lunch and then back for a little work and a nap.  That night we went to a Mexican Resturarant for dinner to celebrate our anniversary.  We walked along the beach that night and just enjoyed the amazing scenery.  On Thursday the weather was rainy so we went to see the movie The Lion.  So crazy to be seeing a movie on a weekday during the day!  Then we went a mexican restaurant for lunch.  We decided to drive to the border of California and Mexico.  We got out and walked around a little scared for our lives!  Then we went and drove Coronado Island and then back by our hotel for dinner.  This night we decided to go to Texas Roadhouse.  We were still full from lunch but could not pass up an opportunity for another quiet dinner!  On Friday morning Joey was sweet enough to drive to Garden Grove to visit Nannie.  Tara came and met us there with Susie.  It was so sweet to get to see Nannie and Tara.  Just another reminder of the fact that I married a great man.  On our romantic anniversary trip, he drives 1.5 hours in crazy rain so I could see my family.  We went back to our hotel and the power was out from the crazy storm!  We decided to drive a ways and go to El Torito for dinner.  Such a special night.  We had to get up early to make our flight.  We were so excited to see the kids and were so grateful for Mindi and her willingess to watch our kids so we could enjoy this perfect break.  I am so beyond grateful for Joey.  I truly love him more after 15 years than I did on the day we got married.  He is my best friend and my greatest example.  I love him so much and look forward to the next time that we can get away!
*I should not be shocked that we do not have very many pictures!  Joey is not a fan!

Pajama Party

Tonight we had Harlee's friend party to celebrate her birthday.  All of her friends came over in their pj's to enjoy pizza and the movie Ramona and Beezus.  After they feasted on pizza and opened presents, they ventured down to the basement to watch the movie.  Joey had the opportunity to fire up the new popcorn machine and each girl got a movie theater size box of candy.  They filled the home with the sound of joy!  They were totally loud but they were having so much fun.  So grateful to have her friends over to celebrate my favorite girl.

Blanket for Ike

After the baptism Mimi took Harlee for a special little early birthday date.  They went and got yogurt then decided to work on a special project together.  They went to fabric store and picked out some cute fabric to make a little blanket for Ike.  I love that my mom is teaching Harlee how to sew and that they got to spend some time together.  The blanket turned out so cute and Ike loves it!

Nash's special day

What a beautiful day!  Our sweet Nash made the decision to get baptized and to become a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  He looked so handsome in his white jumpsuit.  I loved watching him enter the water and I loved watching my best friend baptize our son.  The spirit was so strong and continued it's presence as he was confirmed.  Joey blessed him to stay close to his Savior and to use the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide his choices.  After the beautiful service we came home to celebrate with our family.  We had papa murphy's pizza and tons of treats.  What a special day!  So proud of Nash!  Love you sweet boy!

Annual Christmas Breakfast

This morning we finally made it happen!  We had our annual Christmas breakfast just a few weeks late.  I was so excited that we were finally getting together.  I have such a love and appreciation for these women.  Serene got us all a bracelet with a charm of a tree.  She told us that our friendship was like the roots of a tree.  We do not have to see each other often to feel of the love and strength that our friendship brings.  I could not agree more.  I look up to each of these ladies and feel so blessed to call them my friends.

Sick Puppy

Good thing this puppy is cute because he sure is expensive! On Monday poor Ike started to throw up and have diarrhea.  I made tons of calls to my friends with puppies to ask their advice.  Most people said he will probably get over it but I was super worried.  I took him to the vet on Tuesday and after $120 they told me it was probably a virus.  They gave him anti-nausea medicene and he seemed to perk up.  The vet suggested that we fed him chicken and white rice.  He ate the whole thing.  We were excited and thought that he would recover.  After the bland diner he did not eat again.  On Thursday after a few nights of cleaning diarrhea I got him into the vet again. The doctor was super nervous that he had the Parvo virus.  They tested him for it and thankfully it was negative.  Then they took him for an xray and it did not show any obstructions.  They gave him some special food and he licked the bowl clean.  The doctor thought that maybe he just needed to get his booster shots.  They started him with his first round and sent him home with more of the food he loved.  We pray he gets better soon.  It is crazy how much we love this little guy alreaady.

Handsome almost newest member of the church

Today Nash got dressed up in his suit so I could take a few pictures for his baptism this coming Saturday.  I cannot believe how grown up he is!  What a handsome boy!  I am so proud of his decision to get baptised and cannot wait until his special day on Saturday.
