Cottonwood Heights Swim meet

Friday morning bright and early we ventured out to a swim meet in Cottonwood Heights. This was Nash's second meet ever and he had to swim a 50! They both did amazing. Here are the results: Luke 50 backstroke- 50.29 sec. He beat his time by 2 seconds! 100 IM- 2:02- he took 16 seconds off his best time! 100 freestyle- 1:38 Nash 50 freestyle- 1:16 50 backstroke- 1:27 So proud of these boys. They work so hard and their hard work does not go unnoticed! Great job my boys!

Air"borne" to Jump

On Thursday we decided to spend a little time jumping! We went to Airborne and used our Christmas gift from Uncle Ryan! It was so fun minus a meltdown about playing dodge ball. Not sure why I would not want Tag to go in the dodge ball court? They all enjoyed jumping in the big kid area and had a ton of fun. We then stopped and grabbed lunch on the way home. Such a fun thing to do on a summer day!

Fun day at the Museum of Curiosity

I decided to be brave fun mom and take five kids to the Museum of Curiosity. It was really so much fun. The kids were so good and had the best time. Tag was loving the play area and would climb up something and then need to give me high-five and knuckles. Then he helped a little boy up to the slide and then pushed him down. He thought he was so helpful and asked the little boy for high-five. It was the cutest thing aside from the pushing part! We explored all the areas and then talked about going outside to the discovery park. When Gray heard go outside he tried to open the emergency door which set off a loud alarm. He was so embarrassed. I felt so bad! After we spent time outside doing the zip line and the fun maze, we went to get slurpees at 7-11 and rented the new Spongebob movie. Now the kids are quietly watching a movie and I can get some things done. It pays to be a fun mom!!

Mice no longer

On Sunday the kids told me that there were two mice stuck in the window well. They kept on checking on them by looking out the toy room window. They came up yesterday afternoon to tell me that there was now a snake in the window well. I bet you know what that means- no more mice and a bumpy snake! Yikes! Well I hope the snake has learned a lesson because now he is stuck in the window well. We will have to see how this plays out...

Lagoon Birthday Celebration

It rained all morning and we were a little nervous about our plans for Lagoon but by the time it opened the rain disappeared. It could not have been a more perfect day. Since Nash is now in the big kid group we invited him to come with this year. We told Gray that you could not go to Lagoon until you are six (oops!!) so he and Tag stayed with Grandma and Grandpa. We made our way to Farmington and stopped for a quick lunch at Carls Jr. We got to Lagoon and rode the old rollercoaster. Nash was not a fan! I was a little worried that it was going to be a long day! Joey arrived after our first ride and we were off. We took turns going on the big rides with Luke and Harlee and then the other would take Nash on a ride that he was not worried about it. It really was so much fun! Around 5pm Joey decided to take Nash and Harlee home. Luke and I stayed and went on all the big rides. Jenna and her family were there also so Luke got to go on a few rides with his cousins. It was such a fun day! We left a little before ten and came home and crashed!

We have an 11 year old!!

When did this happen? I cannot believe Luke is 11. I was telling him all about his birth story. Since I can still remember it, it really could not have been that long ago!! Poor Luke had a swim meet on his birthday so we celebrated on Friday by spending the day at Lagoon. After the swim meet we came home for presents and cake! Luke was super excited to get some new shorts, a shirt, $50 Nike gift card and his big present- beats headphones. It was so fun to watch him get so excited and he was so grateful. What a good kid he is. I love him so much and I am so impressed by the young man he is becoming. Happy Birthday my first born. You make me so proud to be your mom!

First swim meet for two

On Thursday Luke and Nash had their first swim meet together! They both did an amazing job! Luke did the 100 Free, 100 IM, and the 50 backstroke. It was his first time doing the 100 Free and he got 1:37 which qualifies him for the Beehive time! So awesome! Then on his IM he got 2:01 which was 17 seconds faster than the last time! He also improved his backstroke time by 2 seconds. So proud of him! Nash swam the 25 free and the 25 backstroke. He got 33 sec on the freestyle and 40 seconds on the backstroke. He did so great! Love these two little swimmers and I love that they get to do this together!

Cute kids + Good Grades = Free Donuts

We found out the best news! Krispy Kreme gives free donut's for A's! Since our kids are such smarties we took a trip to Orem to cash in. Each of the kids except Tag received half a dozen donuts! So proud of them. They are all such great students and their hard work is paying off!

Our Runt

On Monday Gray had his five year old check up. He knew going in that he was going to have his shots for kindergarten and he was so brave. Here are his stats: Weight: 43 lb and Height: 43 3/4 in. He is in the 75% for both. I joked with Dr. Stampfl that Gray was our runt. He laughed and said that only in the Childs family would 75% make you a runt! So funny. He checked Gray and said he looks good and healthy. He was impressed that Gray could read and said he was for sure ready for kindergarten. After we chatted the nurse came in to give Gray his shots. After the first one he said "Owe" and then sat bravely for the other two. Such a big boy. So proud of you Gray! *It was his idea to pose on the table in the room. Such a funny kid!
