Dance Depot Recital

After spending the morning at dance competition, we had the annual Dance Depot recital. This year I taught Harlee's tap class. They performed to "At the Hop" and she did an amazing job. I pushed them and taught them difficult choreography. They really rose to the occasion and I was so impressed with how great they did. Beckie taught their jazz and they did "Ease on Down the Road". So fun to be Harlee's teacher. Love those sassy girls!

Harlee's Dance Competition

Saturday was Harlee's 2nd Dance Competition. It was held at Provo High School- so fun to go back to my old stomping grounds! Harlee performed a dance called True to your Heart. Her group did such a great job and was awarded 3rd place. I have to say that the fact that Harlee loves to dance makes all my dreams come true. I LOVE to watch her perform! She truly loves it. She never walks around the house. She is always dancing! Love her!

Nash's Animal Showcase

On Friday I got to go to Nash's Animal Showcase. The animal he chose was a tiger. He had to create a diorama. Unlike when Luke was little and I felt I needed to control all school projects, I let Nash do most of the work. He drew trees, bushes, and a pond. I helped him cut them out and glue them in the shoe box. He then had to draw an animal wheel that talked about tiger facts. He did an amazing job. I enjoyed the whole program except at the end when a little blonde could not keep her hands off of Nash. She kept hugging him and telling him that she could not wait to see him on Monday. I could not stop glaring at her. I asked Nash if she does this often and Nash said yes. He also told me that sometimes his teacher will warn her to keep her hands to herself! We are in trouble... *The little blonde in the corner of the first picture is the handsy one!!

Good times at Clear Creek

So Luke just got back from Clear Creek and he seems to have had a great time. He told me all about the ropes course, the lame skits, the gross food, and the awful nights sleep! Besides that I do think he managed to have a little fun. I was so sad to have him gone and could not stop hugging him when he made it home. I got a little taste of what his mission will be like and I am hoping by then missions are served while they live at home! So glad Luke had a good time! *Love the pictures Luke took! Of the 32 pictures he came home with at least 50% were selfies! The picture of me and my boy was the first one he took before leaving. Love him! Please stop growing up!!

And he's off...

Yesterday Luke left for Clear Creek. Clear Creek is a fifth grade overnight trip and I am freaking out. I cannot believe that he is old enough to be going on this trip. I am so excited for him and so sad for me. It was so hard to sleep last night not having him home. Gives me the tiniest glimpse of what life will be like when he is on his mission. I know that he had the best time and I am counting the hours until 2pm when I can pick him up! I will post more pics later. He took the old Iphone so he could take a bunch of pics. I am sure there will be plenty of selfies to share!! *Love this picture but he looks so old!! Such a handsome young man!!

Nash's Field Trip to Hogle Zoo

Yesterday Nash and all his kindergartner friends loaded a bus and went to Hogle Zoo. Nash had the best time. He said he saw bears, monkeys, and an anaconda. He got to ride on a carousel and he chose to ride on the tiger! He had such a fun time and I am so excited that he gets to have these experiences.

Mother's Day

What a special day! I woke up to a table full of presents. Each of the kids had made me something at school. I love the time and the thought that they put into each gift. So special. Luke made me notepad that he designed, Harlee made me a holder for my ring and a cute book, Nash made me a plant, and Tag made me a plant also. Then they gave me a new purse and some new clothes. Do they know me or what? Joey gave me a really thoughtful card. After church I spent the day in my lounge pants and I even got a nap. Joey spent the day cleaning and making my life so much easier. He even scrubbed out the fridge and freezer. Then he made yummy Korean chicken, beef, and rice for dinner. After dinner he folded laundry and mopped all the floors. He is such a worker and totally lightened my load. So blessed to have such an amazing husband. So blessed to a mom to these five blessings in my life. They teach me, stretch me, and they make me want to be the best mom for them. I love them more than I ever thought I could love.

Mother/Daughter Game Night

On Thursday night I got to go with Harlee to the Activity Day's Mother/Daughter Game night. It was so fun. First we had to fill out a questionnaire and learn a little bit more about each other. Then we did a relay race where she had to dress me up and then I had to run. Then we went on to the photo booth and took pictures in silly costumes. The final station was a game where I had to throw a ball over my head and and she had to catch it in a basket. It was so great to spend time together. I feel so blessed to have been given Harlee. She really is the best daughter. I truly believe that Heavenly Father knew He could only send me one girl so he sent me His best! I love her and I love this time we get to spend together!

Mother's Day Tea

Today I was invited to a Mother's Day Tea with Gray's preschool class. We were told to bring our favorite mug! When I arrived Gray came out and escorted me to my seat. Then he gave me a flower he made to pin on my shirt. We got to have a cookie and a drink. Gray served me first and then served himself. Such great manners Miss Cheri is teaching them! After our treat the class performed the sweetest poem and two songs: Bushel and a Peck and You are my Sunshine. Gray sang loud and I got tears in my eyes. I so love this boy! Then we were given a cute gift. He made a bookmark and a magnet. Then he also gave me a wheel he made entitled "All about my mom". He first drew a picture of me and then answered a few questions: I love my mom because "She gives me kisses and hugs". Favorite things to do with mom "Play with Her." My mom likes to..."Cook Cookies". So cute. So grateful for a preschool teacher who takes the time to help make moms feel special.

Harlee's Field Trip to the Bean Museum

Yesterday Harlee got to go on the 2nd grade field trip to the Bean Museum in Provo. She had the best time. She came home and could not wait to tell me how she pet a snake! Such a brave girl! So glad that she gets to enjoy these fun days with her class. As soon as Tag is in school I can't wait to attend the field trips with her. Hopefully when that time comes she will still want me to go!

Dad Loves Two Girls

Yesterday we were driving to get icees and in all seriousness Gray asked, "Mom, so dad really only loves two girls?" I asked what two girls, to which he replied:"You and Taylor Swift!". He is so funny. I was trying to figure out why he thought this. Was Joey talking about his other love Taylor when I was away?? I remember a conversation we had a few months ago. The kids were teasing Gray because he liked a Taylor Swift song. I told Gray that is was ok to like Taylor Swift. Even his Dad loves Taylor Swift! I guess he thought I meant really LOVES her! So funny! Never know what will come out of this kid's mouth! Love him!

Nash's Patriarchal Blessing

Nash has been thinking about getting his patriarchal blessing for a little while now.  Harlee told him of how they did a devotional at HXP b...
